Question for eds (if you have the time) and reds.

This season we were a third tier team in the champions league (I think) which seems weird seeing as we made the final.

When will it be decided what tier Liverpool will be in next season? Will winning or not winning the league make a difference, and what other factors are considered?

{Ed002's Note - Winning league or CL will be pot 1 - else pot 2 or 3 depending on ranking and who else qualifies.}

1.) 05 Feb 2019 07:30:57
The pot you go in is based on European performance over the last 5 years I believe? But if you win the league or champions league you automatically go in pot 1. We were on the cusp of pot 2/ 3 this year so at a guess I think if we beat Bayern that will probably bump us up into pot 2 but a lot has to do with who qualifies.

No word of a lie, I saw timo werner near wlva rd. In a grey mazzarati. God knows why. Reckon he will be a liverpool player next year.

1.) 02 Feb 2019 20:40:09
Or Everton?

2.) 02 Feb 2019 20:43:47
Think he was supposed to go to Blackpool.

3.) 03 Feb 2019 10:29:48
Timo was in a grey Walter Mazzarri? Got nothing against it, but I didn’t know Walter had gone grey already. But if he is signing, then it’s good to know he’s enjoying the sights and attractions of Liverpool already. 👍.

4.) 03 Feb 2019 18:50:01
‘God knows why’ 😂😂.

Hi ed02 (or anyone, eds or reds)

Do we still have interest in the young full back from Bristol City?

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new.}

1.) 10 Jan 2019 10:13:36
i very much doubt they would sell him mid season! potentially one for the summer but i imagine most big clubs would be looking at him, having a very good season!

2.) 10 Jan 2019 10:18:17
Lloyd Kelly could be a very smart purchase, he’s a big, quick, mobile, a good defender and a good footballer (he dominates players who are a lot older than him) . He can also cover left back comfortably as well as centre back. To my mind he looks like he has the ability to step up, the same way Rob Jones did.

3.) 10 Jan 2019 10:41:52
Id take another rob jones alright!

Get in Palace. That Roy Hodgson knows his football eh!

1.) 18 Jan 2020 19:32:21
The football gods are smiling on us again, so far this weekend from the Big Six - 3 draws and a loss. It just gets easier.

2.) 18 Jan 2020 20:07:34
These days polecat there’s a big 1 and 5 also rans 😉.

13 Jan 2020 15:32:20
It's my birthday today. Spur win was the best present. Never been so far ahead at this time of year. Making it one of my better birdays as a 80 something. Now very soon, in as year, my life will start. Mot holding my breath.

{Ed001's Note - happy birthday Robbie!}

1.) 13 Jan 2020 17:54:11
Happy birthday lad.

2.) 13 Jan 2020 21:48:54
Many happy returns, RobbiesLine.

3.) 14 Jan 2020 13:58:08
Happy birthday mate, I hope you have a grand day.

4.) 15 Jan 2020 11:33:34
Cheers dudes, got smashed. I used to hate knocking about with utd fans but now I don't mind it. At all.

21 Dec 2019 21:32:43
It's official. Liverpool are the best team in the world. Well played boys, especially hendo. Thought he was excellent and I don't know how he managed to stay professional with some of those decisions. Ref was unbelievably bad.

Gutted for the ox. I really hate rafhinio. What a door knob.

1.) 21 Dec 2019 21:38:19
Just what I didn't want lad's a injury to a player and extra time.

2.) 21 Dec 2019 21:43:58
Thought Joe Gomez had a great game.

3.) 21 Dec 2019 21:53:46
Yeah same hear Roro. He was great. Firmino was also excellent.

4.) 21 Dec 2019 22:42:32
Robbiesline Rafinha fought for his team throughout the game. He was determined, led by example and pushed his team mates to the very end. Towards the end he let the occasion get to him and was maybe over emotional which led to him making some stupid decisions but his dedication to his team was unquestionable. He did nothing I wouldn’t want any Liverpool player to do when representing us. Total commitment to the cause.

5.) 21 Dec 2019 22:53:35
I taught Rafinha was an embarrassment with he's behaviour, would hate to see trent act like that.

6.) 21 Dec 2019 23:40:51
Think I’m going to have to rewatch the game. I’ve finished work for the Christmas period and maybe had a few too many so didn’t see what others did. Merry Christmas everyone.

18 Dec 2019 13:09:40
I've just watched the post match.

30 Nov 2019 17:57:52
Can I ask those itk, and everybody who loves football.

Who is considered Liverpool best ever striker? Kenny was more a midfielder or attacking mid. Ian Rush? Robbie fowler? Or even mo salah? Torres? Mane? Owen?

I'd have thought Ian rush.

1.) 30 Nov 2019 18:18:17
Fowler most natural I’ve ever seen.

2.) 30 Nov 2019 18:27:52
I should add Firmino. Love him, hope starts firing though.

3.) 30 Nov 2019 18:34:46
nobody is going to beat ian rush's goalscoring record.
Fowler for me would have got round about the 200 mark if he didn't suffer injuries and the twin stupidity of phil Thompson and Gerrard Houllier.
No better partnership imo than the Rush and Daglish link up.

4.) 30 Nov 2019 18:41:56
Rush was the best, he scored to most.

5.) 30 Nov 2019 18:47:49
And who is the most underrated? Cisse? Aldridge? Firmino? Good ole titi camara.

6.) 30 Nov 2019 19:13:15
for me best is rush
most natural is fowler
loved aldridge as well.

7.) 30 Nov 2019 19:14:03
Very possibly Aldridge for the most underrated. Fantastic example of great scouting from the lower leagues.

8.) 30 Nov 2019 19:25:15
Mane must have a good shout at most underrated. He is so good.

9.) 30 Nov 2019 19:34:17

10.) 30 Nov 2019 20:26:05
I know there's a lot of ill feeling about him because of the chaos that he caused at our club, but Luis Suarez was a one-man wrecking ball that nearly won us the league.

I can't believe that he's been completely omitted from the debate. I'd say Ian Rush, but he did really well with the players around him. Suarez was a force of his own and so completely mental, as most genius are.

{Ed025's Note - the reason he does not get considered epic is because he is a racist scumbag, a total low life who digraced himself and liverpool football club with his horrible pathetic antics, some things trancend football and and people like him should never be lauded under any circumstances mate..

11.) 30 Nov 2019 20:56:41
Ian Rush best striker and first defender.

12.) 30 Nov 2019 21:01:40
We’ve had some great strikers. Kenny, Keegan, Toashak, Aldo, Robbie, Torres etc.

Stand outs for me, Rushie and the one everyone has missed - Rodger Hunt!

{Ed047's Note - 41 goals in 41 games to get you back into the top flight in ‘62 isn’t bad going.

13.) 30 Nov 2019 21:29:14
Good shout Drogie.
Jesus saves but Hunt scores the rebound.

14.) 30 Nov 2019 21:47:12
Yikes, Ed047! Roger Hunt scored 41 in 41 games? I don't care the era he played in BUT those are unbelievable numbers.

{Ed047's Note - that’s in part why the Liverpool fans gave him the honorary title Sir Roger Hunt.

A big part of Sir Alfs ‘66 squad too.

15.) 30 Nov 2019 21:59:32
245 goals!

16.) 30 Nov 2019 23:56:13
"Sir" Roger Hunt is well deserved.

17.) 01 Dec 2019 00:08:39
Ed25 hits the nail on the head regarding the rat.

The ox has definitely given klopp something to think about. It was only genk though. I'd bring him on at 60 minutes. Open the tired defence.

Dembeles unvieling said it all i think. The kid couldn't even do one keep up when they announced him. He looked like the kid in the playground who couldn't kick a ball. i've rarely seen a pro footballer (even semi pro) who couldn't dazzle me with keep ups and tricks. I don't doubt dembele could. But he has so much pressure on him and was sold too soon. A kid thrown into the snakepit that is the Barcelona dressing room.

They, and he, would've been better off had they not signed him. There is a message there if you have the wit to see it.

I believe him when he says that. He was a red for years. We developed him into one of the best players in the world. It has been said that he regrets leaving Liverpool and i believe that too.

It won't be the only motivation behind him snubbing utd, much more likely is the state that utd are in right now. But i believe that liverpool are part of the reason.

Dodgy theory: coutinio, through his agent, generates interest in a utd move. Snubs them at the last minute because he still has love for liverpool. Paving the way for pipco's return.

Already said it but i reckon dembele would be a Sturridge replacement. As salah is not leaving this year. And there was interest last year when Salah certainly wasn't leaving. And they play on opposite sides of the pitch.

It's worth having z go dbav, but when you see a team mate in space on the edge of the 6 yard box, you have to pass.

Bobby stopped passing so much to salah early in the season when he was being greedy, then mane wins African player of the year. Bobby's the key and our best attacking player.

Didn't we struggle to keep out goals at the start of the season? With Adrian in the nets? He did well (Adrian) but we improved once Ali found his form. And I think Matip was first choice at the start of the season.

Would you really replace salah with traore?!

The day traore scores 44 goals in a season I will go and sit on wolves fire blocks!

I don't think traore could play in our team. He's too heavy. Look at the ox when he signed, he didn't play until he'd lost a tonne of weight. Not to mention I just don't like him (and I bet that really alters who our targets are! ) . Fouled van djike, a nasty one. Big meaty elbow in the ribs and it wasn't even a foul. Jumps on the floor when he's tapped. That lairy celebration like he's something special when he set up the goal. The guys a dick. He's decent and I think he'll be a good servant for wolves but van djike had his number by the end.

5 players I like at wolves are doherty

But I'd only take neves and Jiminez at liverpool.

I can't remember the last time Henderson had a bad game.
