Ed’s and Reds, in relation to the Sancho transfer do you think he’s holding out another club or is it purely price. I understand Sancho made a few comments around Tiago joining the mighty reds. Do you think there is a good chance if the league gets up and running and revenue is high there could be a bid for us.

{Ed002's Note - Sancho is not rejecting a move it is just none of the clubs who transfers have been discussed with have made a suitable offer (at this time). I would not hold your breath about a move to Liverpool.}

We can forget about signing Sancho. The total cost of the deal could be close to 135-140 million pounds. I just got a sneaky feeling we will go for Haaland instead as a Salah or Mane replacement next summer.
Sancho is not viable even if we sell one of our prized assets, so its a no go.

I’m not really sure why we are so resigned to selling Salah and Mane. I’d be more than happy to see them stay for a few more years. I’ve seen fans say we should sell because of their age but if that’s the case who is going to spend all that money buying them because of their age. Mo and Sadio have plenty more seasons in them.

Salah and Mane will last till 34. They have exceptional work ethic and discipline. No interest in partying and drinking excessively. They are both obsessed with football and success.

Sancho not worth that money not a hope he doesn’t lace mane or Salah’s boots if he’s 140m all in player the world is gone mad!

Nobody wants to see Mane and Salah sold JK23. However, let's not forget that we are owned by FSG (who are investors after all) . They will be aware that the squad will need a rebuild over the next few years as a lot of our first team players approach 30. The potential and value of the squad as a whole is very close to flattening out regardless of what we achieve this season. That is when investors decide to cash in on their most saleable and valuable assets to invest in newer assets with potential to grow.
There is no question FSG will have already talked to Klopp regarding the rebuild and how the funding will be done. And as long as FSG are willing to invest the sale proceeds from Salah/ Mane into some of the best young talent available, I doubt Klopp will object to this. The priority imo will be to keep the spine of the team together (our back 5 and Hendo) while shifting on at least one of our forwards for big money and investing in younger talent with even more potential.
The squad rebuild will happen over the next 3-4 seasons and at some point, some of our players like one of Mane/ Salah along with squad players like Ox, Origi, Matip etc will be sacrificed to fund those transfers.
Lets not forget players will always come and go. Its the club's philosophy, business savviness and having the right people in place to make the hard and major decisions that will keep the club at the top in the long run.

IB great reply post that mate and I totally understand where you’re coming from with regards to the owners and them being investors. However I believe that Klopp will want to Keep Mo and Sadio as they are so important to the team. You mention keeping the spine of the team and Hendo but VVD and Hendo are both older than Mo and Sadio and are deemed just as important and worthy of keeping around. The signing of Thiago and new contract for Milner shows that Klopp is pushing FSG to new ways of thinking. Plus I honestly can’t see teams bidding 150 mill + for Mo and Sadio when they are both 29 going on 30 and there’s no fans in the grounds. Players like Haaland, Mbapppe and Sanchez etc are so much younger and will be far more appealing to the 2 clubs that would bid for both Real and Barca. For me I honestly believe Mo and Sadio have at least another 4-5 years at the top so why start a rebuild at year 1 of a 4-5 successful plan. Only my opinion mate 👍.

KK23, IB and yourself make valid arguments indeed. To your point, I was thinking the same thing that maybe next season, either one could be sold BUT Ed01 said that he has a feeling based on what he knows that there could be a scenario where neither of them are sold in the next 2 seasons and instead of cashing in on either or both, we actually compliment them in the near future which may lend to the Jota signing. Just thought I should throw it out there.

Red Meister, for us to keep both Mane and Salah beyond the next 2 seasons means offering them new improved contracts which adds to the wage bill and gives us even less money to sign younger high profile players. Imo the most likely scenario is we move Salah on (his agent has been trying to move him on for a while now tbf) and give Mane a new 4-5 year contract while signing someone like Haaland as the replacement. This ensures we keep one of our world class forwards at the club in the long run and also secure one of Europe's hottest properties around whom we can build the team eventually.

JK23, imo the back 5 and Hendo are untouchable because they are the spine of the team and what they are worth in the market or who is interested in them is pointless. VVD and Alisson were brought in to be the foundation of this Klopp team, not assets that could be sold on at a later date. I think they will be rewarded with long term contracts along with TAA, Gomez, Robbo and Fab. Most likely, these contract extensions will be funded by letting Gini and Milner move on next summer imo and freeing up their wages.
Thiago I see more as an opportunistic signing than a strategic one. We needed to add a little spark to our midfield and tweak things up a little and that is exactly what Thiago will do. A signing of that nature is more of an anomaly than the norm especially while recruiting a first team player in his late twenties under FSG.
Everything aside, I believe in the people involved to make the right decisions and ensure that the club remains competitive even while we are rebuilding and in what manner we choose to fund the said rebuild. The players will come and go, but it is eventually LFC being competitive that should matter to all of us regardless who the players are.

Ib another good reply mate and you may well 100% be correct. Only time will tell though. Just in reply to your post you say the owners are investors and will look to sell Mane or Mo for the rebuild but what if someone came in and offered silly money for Allison, VVD or Hendo etc. For me Mo and Sadio are just as important. More than just what they bring to the table but they hardly miss any games either. After all 150 mill is 150 mill to investors regardless of what player they are wanting. Fans say that Mo and Sadio won’t be as good without Bobby (I 100% disagree with this) but I’d also say that this could be the opposite then. Take Mo and Sadio out of the team and is Bobby as good then with what he does. Pointless him dropping into space for Mo and Sadio if they are at other clubs lol. It’s a great debate to be had and I really hope we don’t sell any of our big stars for a rebuild as I think this current squad is good enough to dominate for the next 4-5 years. If we don’t need to add much to the squad in the next 3-4 years then maybe our rebuild can come from money saved then, rather than have to sell to buy to do it.
