We played well, but didn't stick it in the net. Hardly surprising. McGoldrick's a decent player, but not a goalscorer and with Idah and Connolly having to self-isolate because their seats on the plane weren't quite 2m from the backroom staff member who tested positive for C.V. (apparently), we had only Long, who I believe Ed001 referred to as the worst striker in the Premier League, on the bench.

Gotta say I had such deja-vu from Sunday reading Irish football forums tonight. The willful delight about losing from people who didn't want Steven Kenny in charge in the first place. Couldn't wait to get the digs in. Apparently the Irish football team haven't been terrible and goalshy, to the point of not scoring from open play in 180 minutes against Georgia over the past few years and the lack of finishing tonight was because of Kenny's Communist, anti-Catholic, un-Irish passing tactics.

Really hope we stick with Kenny for at least a couple of years. It's nice to see Irish players try to pass the ball to each other, even if some of them aren't that good at it.

Something red, if stephen kenny is given time he will do very well with ireland. Ridiculous people slating him already. With the likes of connolly, idah and Molumby coming through the future looks good for ireland.

Northern Ireland played rightly after a very dodgy first 20 minutes. Their keeper pulled off a few really good saves and we grew into the game when we realised their defence was crap. Looking forward to Slovakia in front of 14000 virtual fans 😪😪.
