Final pass is very flaccid. But Jota just scored so oh well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clear red card. Clear penalty. Didn't realise whoever is in the VAR booth was isolating as well!

{Ed0666's Note - clearly no one’s in the VAR room.

I’m proud we actually played today. Okay it was stupid, no spine of VVD Thiago Fabinho Henderson. But with afcon coming let’s face it we’re not going to win it, so I’m very proud we had the cojones to play away at Spurs and not get it postponed. Kane should’ve gone but the refs must want city winning it early, boring for the league but is what it is. UCL 7.

Clear handball by Salah too.

Pmsl the ref was desperate to give nothing to LFC today spurs 2 weeks off we had strange midfield and got a man sent off (despite Kane being worse) and they still can’t beat us missing a lot of players.

3 points behind city think we’re very much still
In it.

Up the pool dust ourselves down and go again.

{Ed0666's Note - exactly

What's the opposite of a flaccid pass? An erect pass?

{Ed0666's Note - or would a pass that only got half way be called a semi?

19 Dec 2021 20:31:13
Flaccid being your middle name Ed0666🤭.

{Ed0666's Note - I thought said you never kiss and tell Barry?

19 Dec 2021 20:55:28
Very sorry Ed0666 I'm just venting after watching that horror show from the officials.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m the same mate. I’m incredulous at those decisions

A flaccid pass cannot penetrate adequately. Doesn’t satisfy so to speak.

Supasub, pretty sure the rule has been changed. If a handball is deemed to be NOT deliberate leading to a goal, the goal will stand. Salah’s handball was clearly NOT deliberate as he went to head it and afterwards, the ball landed on his hand hence, the goal stood. Cheers.

Olired, orif your body/ arms are in an un-natural position. Im certain if Tottenham scored that goal we would'nt hear the end of it on here. kane caught Jota on the foot despite how many still's LFC want ot churn out. I've seen Jota commit a similar foul recently, no one here was calling for a red for it. Jota gets shoved, clear penalty apparently but no mention of the clear shove in the back by Trent in the area. these things even out and certainly Liverpool have this season have benefited from some dubious decisions in their favour in big games including what many others would deem some "encouraged" red cards. Robertson "tackle" was savage and imo deserves a further match ban.

Supasub, not sure what you are on about. The rule has changed hence, why the goal stood. The ball was coming down low and Salah went to head the ball and you need to have your arm in a position to protect yourself when going for a header when you dock your head down to head the ball esp. with a defenders foot coming close to you which there was with Sessegnon. That is your arm being in a natural position, IMO.

As for the shove in the back on Alli, NOBODY called it a pen thru out the world of punditry. Even the MOTD Spurs home boy Jenas (along with Shearer) rubbishd the incident so there you go. Football is a contact sport and you are allowed to touch a player in the box as long as there is no clear pushing and pulling action on the player impeding him, which there was NOT cos all TAA did was put his hand on him and Alli felt the contact and went down like he took one in the head from a sniper hence, it was a dive dive hence, no pen. We got stitched up, end of, Fact. Cheers, mate.

maybe it was a chubba.

20 Dec 2021 17:29:01
I'm clearly not your mate, I don't know you. You've already admitted Trent put his hand up on Ali, there is definately a push. that is contact, If Jota is a penalty then so is that. You need to get used to seeing it from both sides. As for going down by sniper, Jota and Mane are 2 of the best. Jota can't help going down screaming holding his face and Mane's dive to get the right back a yellow was shocking. No contact, you can't have (in your eyes) some sort of anti Liverpool referee when you got some decisions in your favour. It's like the other evening Trents amazing last ditch tackle when you watch he play s the ball through the Newcastle players foot, catches foot first then ball when you see the correct angle. Probably why Newcastle were upset and VAR took so long. That would be Im guessing a red and a penalty. Maybe it was'nt given because Trent intended to take the ball first?
