Ed1, hope you are well mate. what's your take / opinion on why LFC are not making more signings?

I know that there is a toxic atmosphere just now round LFC, and the pundits etc all complaining we need a new midfield etc is driving this with the fans.

Also with rivals spending like its going out of fashion it further drives the toxicity in the fans as where not buying literally everyone.

I assume its because we have a good team and its hard to replace the quality we have and improve the team without spending incredible amounts of money. I don't understand personally why so many fans are getting themselves worked up about what Chelsea or Arsenal are doing as for me there is going to be some hits and some misses for both with the players they sign.

I personally don't think any of the players they bought would improve our team even Fernandez. I think people are getting caught up with WC fever and the fact Chelsea are spending 300 Mill in the Jan window.

I'm hoping, Kloppofthedeen, that work is being done, behind the scenes, to get the player/ s we want in the summer. That may be naivety or wishful thinking on my part. I honestly haven't given up on Bellingham joining. And before I get pelters I know him alone won't fix our current plight.

Id assume the summer will bring in new bodies when the time is right. I personally think if they went back to what we did well and played with intensity we would be in a much healthier position than currently. let's see what the summer brings.

I don’t think there’s any point trying to save this season with anymore rash decisions, Gakpo is beginning to look like one of those.

I’m just furious at everyone involved to be honest. There’s no anger or fire from anybody, everybody at the club collectively shrugging their shoulders.

Waaa injuries, waaa no signings, waaa last season made us tired and we’re sad. It’s pathetic. I’ve completely lost my patience with the manager, this group of players, the backroom staff, the transfer gurus, even the fans who are either making excuses or happy to let anfield become a morgue.

Ironically, the only people i’m not particularly angry at are the owners. What you see is what you get, they aren’t sugar daddies, they’re investors. If you’re upset that your club is being used as a toy and you have no say in how it is run, i agree, welcome to capitalism.

That can’t be changed and it isn’t something we have a say in, that’s the nature of football at present. All we can do is do the best with what we have, Klopp knows that and he was happy to stay.

While we can’t spend like Chelsea or City, we can definitely do better than this. The very least we can expect is a sign that they have a slither of self awareness or critical thinking, to allow themselves to realise what is going wrong and how they can fix it. I’m not seeing that.

Excuses, complaining, shrugging of shoulders. The manager doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong, the players haven’t done anything wrong - apparently none of them ever need to be sold, lifelong contracts for everyone - the backroom staff haven’t done anything wrong, the fitness staff haven’t done anything wrong, the signings/ scouts are infallible and nothing has gone wrong there either.

After every match they say they finally get it, and then the next game, they go out and do the same exact thing again, only even worse. It feels like the final years of Wenger. This is easily the whiniest and most childish post i’ve ever done, but i’m at the end of my tether.

We’re over halfway through the season and every single week the performances get worse. I don’t understand how a manager of Klopps calibre, or how a group of players this experienced, can show such a lack of self awareness, and also lack the drive needed to fix the problem.

We keep hearing a lot of excuses.

There does appear to be a lack of any kind of fire or aggression. I posted a few weeks ago that I used to love Klopp's way of describing his teams to be "angry, cheeky and greedy" on the pitch.

We are none of those right now, on the pitch or off it.
