Liverpool will not make a move for Guehi in January. He will see out the 25/ 26 season at Palace who expect to do well in the ECL and want him to stay to be part of that journey.

I've no inside knowledge of situation but I would think that will be the way it plays out.
Can't see palace taking 15m r so for him in Jan when they doing so well at minute. They could win conference league which be huge for them.
Can't see anybody offering more 15-20m for him in Jan either when he free in summer.

@Digger - Unless there is a team out there with only one reliably fit CB who are chasing the PL and CL, perhaps?

I'd like to see us sign him wdw but I don't think it will happen with palace going well. The way they playing they v good chance of european football next season again, don't know how much financially the europa or conference leaguethat worth to them but I'm sure it quite good for a club of palace's size. They take guehi out of there team and chances of european football diminshes greatly.

I'm sure we'll be getting a CB in during January, but whether it's Guehi or another, we'll need to wait and see.

I think we’ll get another one in, but I suspect Hughes is wary of negotiating with Palace in case they do the same as the summer, so I can see us looking elsewhere.

If slot doesn't trust gomez then we clearly need a cb asap. If slot does like Gomez I still personally think we need a CB asap. I am really worried that we will not sign a CB in January.

If we really are interested in Schlotterbeck he might be more likely than Guehi in Jan with Guehi more likely to come in the summer. Only way that changes is if Guehi prioritises a potential Prem winners medal over the extra money he would get as a free agent. Either way if these two really DO want Lfc we should be picking up two capable CB's for a comparably low outlay.

@Lfcfan_03,given the game time Joe has had since Slot arrived I think it’s obvious that he is the 4th choice CB, by a fair distance.
We bought Leoni and tried (and got very close to) buying Guehi, in which case I think Joe would have been the cover across the back four in an emergency or until the next transfer window when I think the club might be open to offers.
I think we had a plan which Glassner sabotaged but I definitely think that we will bring in at least one CB in January and possibly two if the opportunity is there.
