Having a text convo with my brother in law, also an LFC fan. Below is my post match rant after my BiL had just said our poor form was down to too many changes over the summers which he was worried about at the time. I am calm now but reading my rant back I still stand by every word.
Maybe mate, but genuinely I just think it's just poor tactics and management. Slot came in with the reputation of being flexible and getting the best of the players he had available to him but I'm not seeing that. We buy lightning quick, aggressive marauding full backs but then expect them to play a clinical short pass possession game and wonder why they aren't doing well, we buy a clinical striker to take the chances Nunez was missing but then change our approach so much we don't provide him with those same opportunities and wonder why we aren't scoring, we continue to play last season's talisman despite the fact he looks like he can't control a simple pass into feet and wonder where the creativity is, we don't start the only player who looks like he gives a toss and has a better goal involvement per minute ratio in the squad for 'reasons' and wonder where the passion has gone, we continue to start a CB who is clearly angling to leave for free at the end of the season when he is also playing rubbish every game and wonder why we aren't keeping clean sheets, we continue to play Macca when he's been awful but blame a lack of preseason due to injury while in the same breath say Isak and Wirtz needs time all the while our midfield is played through as if it isn't there, play our most consistently effective pressing midfielder in defence because 'reasons' and then wonder where the high press has gone.
Honestly mate i know we won the league last year but it's not as if we were amazing and beat off massive competition to do it. Genuinely having massive doubts about the management right now. Lots of changes or not if you can't get that squad of players to win games, let alone look good or keep a clean sheet while doing it, then there's going to be questions asked and rightly so.

Honestly I don’t believe the new players have been the problem. Gakpo salah and Macca have been huge issues. Konate was good today but here been an issue too.
Wirtz ekitike and isak need to start, they’re the future PLAY them. If we want our fullbacks to bomb forward, we need a proper DM ‘slot doesn’t use one’ well he needs to. Szobo was great today.
Whether salah is taking the loss of jota harder than people expected, or he’s jsut showing his age, it doesn’t matter he shouldn’t be playing.
We’re so close to being amazing yet so far.
A slight tweak and I think it’ll click.

Its a shambles right now and losing to that united team absolutely stinks. Its disgusting but should spur some kind of reaction now. This dross cannot continue.

I'm not so worried going forward, its at the back i have concerns.
We are constantly changing from game to game. We change during the game 2,3 even 4 times who play's where.
How are they going to strike any kind of cohesion.
VVD is doing ok. Konate well documented his struggles, err its either him or Gomez and there is not support for Gomez. Full backs, is it Kerkez, is it Frimping? I don't think
he knows what's best.

Oooh, and 1 thing i forgot. Hate to say it but i would drop Mo for a couple of games.

Spot on, Wiltshere red on Salah. It's hard enuff playing against the opposition and trying to navigate the way we wann a play (whatver that is) than having to carry our best forward going thru a crisis of confidence. He needs to hold bench right now and let uothers have a go.

Listened to the game on the radio as I was travelling.
Got to say that I would drop Mo too. He’s like the ghost of Christmas past given the formation we should play - I agree with the above - Ekitike and Isak up front, with Wirtz in the hole behind and the full backs given free reign. Does mean we need a Konate upgrade and VVD’s heir. I hope for Guehi + 1 other (Bastoni would be a dream) esp as I think Guehi could also step into DM when needed.
A Gravy understudy is also key.
Sadly, although he has given me such pleasure, Mo could go this summer to Saudi, which should pay for the defenders/ midfielder given Guehi should hopefully be free in the summer or cheap in Jan (if CP will sell, which I doubt) .
I don’t think Mo has fallen off a cliff as some think, but the team has been set up for his strengths (including Trent’s passing) since he joined. But not anymore.

I’d sell Mo to Saudi if an offer came in. With Trent’s ability to turn us under pressure into an attack slash’s lack of willingness to track back is becoming an issue. Give me semenyo and the next marcherano in midfield to shield the defence.
