Does anyone else think allison took 1 for the team yesterday? He knew the shot was taken, likely would of gone in, so he delibritley handballed it thinking it would of stopped them scoring.
Obviously it didn't tho from the resulting free kick.

Agree5 Disagree0

Slison definitely took one for the team and whilst i was initially annoyed by the goal they score. It has been one of my pet hates that after a team is penalised the ref then gives them all the time in the world to set up. I hope that what happened yesterday happens a lot more in the future. But not against us obvs.

No, I don't think that were his thoughts. I think he rushed out, expecting to get to the ball first and when he didn't, it was just a goalkeepers instinct to "save" it.

He just got caught out positionally and had he stayed on his line, he might have saved the effort. Still, he's been so good at coming off his line to sweep the ball up, that I'd rather lose him for a game for this mishap than him being a static keeper that daren't leave his line.

Allison Becker made a mistake that very nearly cost Liverpool yesterday.
Now he misses the derby match.
I only hope he learns from his error.
Any side that goes down to 10 men is always at a disadvantage
I bet the rest of the outfield players were not singing his praises and thinking he took one for the team.
Is he counting it as a clean sheet would be my question.

{Ed025's Note - the guy made a mistake KK its not that big a deal mate, and as for not being available for the everton game...you could have a cardboard cut out of karius between the sticks and still win..

In hindsight it would have been better to let it go in lol.

OP, I thought the very same thing. If you see the play from behind the goal, you will see that Allison is caaught too high up the pitch. He then tries to retreat and gets caught in two minds. Thgen he just goes like "Screw it" and then raises both hands up knowing the ball would hit either one. He made a mistake and that can happen.

KK, chill out man. AB1 made a mistake and as Ed25 said, it's not that big of a deal so no need over-reacting to it. As to whether his team mates were signing his praises or not, no one on here including you or me, knows any of that so again, take a chill pill and relax. We won the game. We learn our lessons and move on. Peace!

Exactly Red, Allison is very good at sweeping up behind the back 4 and with our high line that is invaluable if a little risky.
Thankfully he gets far more of those right than he does wrong so I think we should cut him some slack for making one mistake.
The guy is a world class keeper but even they make mistakes occasionally you know.
