I was working last night so couldn’t watch the game properly (had it my phone checking when I could) so I relied on people on this website to tell me how we played. My perception from your posts was that we played badly, got torn apart but managed to somehow dig in and get the win.

I’ve just watched the full game and I have to say I’m not sure what game half of you were watching. Wolves got in behind us a few times but that’s exactly what I expected. We hold high line you’d have to be stupid to think Traore wouldn’t get a few chances. Especially with them playing at home.

But for every chance they had we had a better chance.
We could’ve won the game a lot more comfortably but like the Utd game we didn’t take our chances and they got up a head of steam but by the end of the game we were back in control.

I thought we played very well. That Wolves team did the double over City this season I’m really not sure what some people expected. They’re a really good team with technically gifted players and pace in their side. Exactly the type of team that give top sides a run for their money as we leave space in behind and they have the ability in midfield and pace upfront to exploit it.

I know we are on this great run but we won’t go out and smash every team 3,4 or 5-0. Sometimes you come up against a good side who tests you and in those games you have to show the grit, determination and quality to come out on top and that’s exactly what we did.
Great performance in my eyes. YNWA.

How long is Salah going to waste opportunities to score or set up a goal. It’s getting frustrating and must be annoying for the players. Will eventually cost us points. Not the best season for him but we’re top so I know I shouldn’t be pointing this out.

Have to agree WM73. The man frustrates me so much this season by taking too many touches, holding up the ball too long, playing a poor heavy pass or just running in to a defender.
However just when I lose patience and start begging klopp to replace him he scores or assists!
Dont think he's been at his best tho along with Robertson for the last few games.

We weren't at our best and still could have scored a few more goals, wolves were good and the boys had to dig deep and at one point I'd say most of us would have settled for a draw but it just showed what this team is about when we went on to score (a great goal, salah assist) and win.

OP, I don't know those who were posting such posts that let you believe that we got torn apart cos I actually watch ALL of the game live and I did not get that impression. We did NOT steal anything in the game. We earned EVERYTHING fair and square. Wolves are a brilliant team and if anyone thought we would not struggle against them is completely deluded, uninformed or darn right arrogant. WE struggled massively that night and I was not surprised at all.

Wolves were the toughest opponent we have had this season, IMO and that was already clear in the first game at Anfield. They play great football and matched us strength for strength so it was normally for me, a game I expected. Our boys battled hard and overcame an injury to Mane and tho, we could have conceded had Allison not been brilliant BUT at the same time, Patricio Kept them in the game as well.

What I will say is that we wanted it more and got the goal our perseverance, desire, grit and fighting spirit deserved under difficult conditions vs a brilliant opponent so for me on that level, it was a great, warrior-like performance displayed by the Mental Giants from Merseyside.

I really wouldn't rely on updates on here, lol especially not the live updates! We dug in and got the result. Probably even in terms of clear cut chances but from memory we really messed up some glorious chances in the box. I think the Mane injury game hurt us and we didn't adjust as well as we could hav in-game.

Spot on, Faith.

I think during the game you can get caught up in the emotion of the game. We are all so desperate to see us clinch 19 (or #1 if your from the blue side of liverpool) .
When wolves attacked there did feel that they had a genuine chance or creating an opportunity. I wouldn't say they carved us open but definitely a tough game, some of which due to poor decision making from us, again.

WYred has called it right. I go to all our home games and watch most of the away games live on the box. Whenever I can, I watch a full 90 minutes plus recording of the game when the dust has settled a bit and I can take a more relaxed, analytical view of the game. Take away the uncertainty, the emotion and the tension of a live game of football and it is a very different experience indeed. This season in particular, I have often come home from a Liverpool game or finished watching a Liverpool game live on the box and thought it was a tough game which could have gone either way. Watching it again later, it is very often the case that the opposition had very few chances and it was a relatively comfortable win for the Reds. Watching live, I get panicky when the opposition cross the halfway line even though I have full confidence in VVD, Joe Gomez, Alisson and the rest. I guess it will need Liverpool to win a few PL titles before I am even a bit more relaxed watching us live, either at Anfield or on the box.

WW, I fully agree with you about being nervous. For me, I'm over all that cos I expect that the opposition will have their moments which will cause us hairy moments. That is part of the game and as Klopp says, winning all these games in a row is not easy. We now have a team that I no longer fear for, one that even if we concede, I'm good cos I know we will ramp up the pressure and come out swinging after we concede so in the end, there is nothing to fear but fear itself, IMO.

Red Meister, I suspect I may be a tad older than you and I have been watching The Mighty Reds for more than 50 years (I am probably even older than Ed025). In that time, of course, I have seen us win everything there is to win but I still get nervous about every single game we play. I am actually very nervous about tomorrow’s game against Shrewsbury although I am not even that bothered about the FA Cup. It is strange because I am a very optimistic, “glass half full” person normally but not when it comes to Liverpool. A psychologist could probably explain it but I can’t!
