It'll never turn me off the game, but it is ridiculous. They're looking at everything like it's all objective, it's not mathematics, it's the beautiful game. I've never seen as ridiculous a decision as the spurs one. Where matey fell over, morra. I don't think they have a choice but to wait till the season is over, then they can revisit it and readjust it.

This says it all; there have been just as many bad decisions since it came in as there was before. OK, the offsides have been sorted (nearly) but the hand balls by strikers. It doesn't work. If I had a choice I'd keep it but get it sorted. I don't have answers, but I hate conceding a goal that should have been disallowed more than I enjoy scoring a goal that shouldn't have been (unless its against utd where I get a perverse pleasure over it)

I agree though, in its present state it is an absolute embarrassment. Games flowed better before and I wonder if refs are getting pissed with it too?

They get one every game. There’s a handful of them that are not penalties, not just this one. This VAR goes deeper than penalties though it’s been atrocious, get rid!
Common sense has been over ruled by replays and armpits.

Robbiesline - You shouldn’t give a damn what refs think, frankly. They are the reason VAR has been so badly implemented in English football. If refs they did their jobs properly, incidents like the absurd penalty decision tonight would not happen.

Thankfully it looks like fifa are taking over var. not sure how much of an improvement that’ll be but something had to change after this season in the PL. If the World Cup was anything to go by it’ll be a lot better run by fifa.

I dunno lowel mate. Linesmen and refs {especially in the last 15 years) see things that are so tight and so fast it is amazing. Especially when you see a replay and the ref called it correct by a centrmetre. I'm no ref lover BTW, but they must take pride in their jobs to rise to pl ucl level. And they are now bound by these new rules which can over rule z ref. So I bet there are loads where the ref thinks "that should've been given" but had to follow the law. Maybe not. Look they get loads wrong but no more than Var does, and Var has all the time in the world.
