Morning Ed001 what's your view on Gini's contract situation? I think he's been absolutely fantastic this season given the circumstances and no doubt playing through serious fatigue at the moment. I really hope he stays, everyone loves him and he really is a wonderfully intelligent player and an exceptional athlete that I don't worry about him entering his 30s at all. I would also miss those Champions League knockout goals!

{Ed001's Note - he is a very good player who is always fit, but he does play within himself 99% of the time. I would prefer to keep him but I would also understand if Klopp let's him go.}

Agree1 Disagree0

For me he is a great player, I never wanted him to leave. Imagine the situation we would be in now if as many posters suggested that Gini should go and Thiago be his replacement. Some players have the fortune/ knack of staying fit and being available and others don't. Top player.

Can’t let him go. His availability every game is crucial.

I'd keep Gini just for his durability, availability and versatility. We'd be royally screwed if we had sold him this summer.

If you could pick any player to replace gini who would it be eds1?

{Ed001's Note - I don't think we really need to replace him, Jones can step up, he looks more than capable of being a regular starter now.}

Thanks for the reply Ed001.

I agree Rover, Klopp must love having a player as reliable and hard working as Gini in the squad. Will be interesting if he does leave who we go for, one name I saw us being linked to was Bissouma at Brighton.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome. Bissouma is an excellent player, well suited to a Klopp team it must be said.}

What do you make of Lamptey Ed?

{Ed001's Note - blisteringly quick, excellent technique, good workrate but exceedingly rash, lacks any kind of positional sense or defensive awareness. Doesn't look to have the intelligence to play in central midfield, lacks any defensive nous for full-back and lacks the skill to play as a wide forward. That is why Brighton have to go with a back three and play him at wing-back to get him performing. Fine for Brighton but he would struggle to step up to a better team that would not switch everything around to set it all up to play through him.}

Hi ed, bissouma is not one I've watched closely, is he on the player profile list?

{Ed001's Note - I have added him for you.}

Rumour has it Gini read this thread before the game today Ed001! Fantastic game from us and I didn't realise how pumped up I would get with fans back, really was a brilliant night and looking forward to your match review. Also Ed wonder if you've seen The End of the Storm documentary on last season, if not I'd recommend it was very good.

Thanks ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

Spot on, Ed01 and XabiAlonso14. I have always liked Bissouma since he arrived in the PL. Very skillful, can beat a man, has pace and a good shot on him, as well. One to watch for, me thinks.
