Are people genuinely considering us challengers for the top 4?

Seriously?

On current performance, application, desire and talent we would be lucky to fight for Europa League.

I have never seen such a dramatic and shameful drop off from title winners to where we are now. I know we have had injuries and C.V. to deal with, to key players too, but so has a number of clubs and they found ways to adapt. We continue to simply stagnate and look bereft of ideas in the attacking third.

There has also been an alarming drop off in work rate, which was apparent at the end of last season. Everyone played it down as having already won the league, nothing more, but it has carried on into this scene and we have been in a rut ever since. Devoid of ideas, passion, which is so unlike the Liverpool of the passed 3 years.

I honestly believe top 4 will be too much for us this season. I only hope that we can remove the deadwood that has continued to stagnate at the club or found a second home in the medical room. Minamino was clearly a purchase with the hope of selling more shirts in Asia because even Origi, who we have been trying to sell for the past two seasons, is getting in ahead of him.

How we are going to fix this will require a lot of money. Money we do not have because of how poorly we have structured payments. We need far better quality in the team and unfortunately there is no one, outside of Jones, who I can see making the grade.

Difficult times to come I fear, I only hope Klopp has a solution because I honestly have no idea how we are going to get out of this poor run of form both in terms of results and performances. Thank the lord I am not a football manager.

Maybe I'm a bit older than most of you, but I've seen dips in form much worse than this and we bounced back. With a bit of luck and composure in front of goal and we'd have won most of the past 5 games. Add to that playing against A 10 man defence and a few bad injuries and I can see how things have gone the way they've gone lately.
It was only a few weeks ago and we were top of the league with half the 11 in the treatment room.

Wow that’s an over reaction and a half! Don’t worry pal things aren’t all that bad!

We are just in a shocking run of form, no doubt having our starting cbs has hurt us but this is still the same team that had an incredible couple of years winning everything along to way.

This season was always going to be tough for us with the injuries and perhaps complacency setting in after such a successful few years.

Don’t get me wrong, going for the title is likely over but go for top 4 and roll on the new season. We do need some investment though in the summer with perhaps one of the front 3 making way to fund it.

I trust Klopp. After what he’s done for us and achieved he deserves for the pitch forks to be put away.

I always think team selection in January is influenced by the transfer window being open. Suddenly Shaq and Origi get games. 2 players who we’ve wanted to sell since the summer and haven’t had a sniff until January. Maybe throwing them into the shop window?
All of a sudden Hendo starts playing at the back when he’s always been more than happy to throw Phillips or Williams in until now. Maybe a signal to the owners that we need a CB?
I might be reading too much into it but I do love a good conspiracy theory!
