Some of the posts on here are embarrassing.

Are we not Liverpool fans? Shouldn’t we be supporting the team and the players? Someone said Rhys Williams was the worst player ever to play for the club!? Have a word with yourself! He is 19 in his first year in the senior team! Shocking! How about you look up Sean Dundee or maybe Christian poulsen or jokanovic? Wasn’t too long ago that! Someone said over the weekend we have been spoilt the last couple of years and that is 💯 correct. Last year was my first title I have seen us win! I’m thankful for such a great side! There was a time when I celebrated getting in the top 4!

Shankly said once “ if you can’t support us when we loose, don’t support us when we win” think some posters could learn from the great man.

It’s fine having an opinion and airing it, and also being frustrated at results and seeing how things could be different, but slow down having knee jerk reactions to every result!

Rhys Is definitely not the worst to play for us. There are a good many full experienced internationals who were a lot worse. Cough Aqualani cough. However, he is nowhere near the standard to even be considered a promising talent. You get slower with age not quicker and he has absolutely no pace for a young lad. To be fair to him he wasn't supposed to be anywhere near the 1st team at this point in development but the circumstances have thrust him into the lineup. Last night wasn't his worse performance but he is nowhere near good enough for us. Doesn't make me any less of a fan to point that out but the abuse he will probably receive from Bell ends on twitter and such isn't needed and anyone who does that can't be a true fan.

I agree with this. It's frustrating when you watch your team lose and/ or play badly, or if an individual has a poor match or makes mistakes that contribute to defeat. When you're feeling like that immediately after a match, I think it's sometimes better to stay away from the keyboard.

I also agree about the sentiment of support through good times and bad. As a child of the 80s, I had a brief glimpse of the glory years, followed by a long period of frustration, false dawns and disappointment, and then some happy times again in the last few years. Of course there are going to be some new or younger supporters who have perhaps only started following Liverpool in the last few years but, generally speaking, I would guess that most people in this forum have stuck with us and supported the club through some of the less successful years as well.

I do think that it's perfectly reasonable to make constructive comments and analysis, even if it's not completely positive, about the team that you follow and give so much of your time to supporting. So, calling a player the worst player to ever play for Liverpool is probably an example of a silly, knee-jerk reaction after that individual has turned in a poor display.

However, I do think it's entirely fair to have a discussion about a player like Rhys Williams and to debate whether he's our best option at the moment. Personally, I think he's out of his depth to the extent that something like yesterday was only a matter of time. That's not a personal or vindictive comment about Williams, who of course is doing everything he can do be his best and take this opportunity, but I think anybody who knows about football would see some fundamental flaws.

Unless we can dominate possession and territory to the extent that our backline simply doesn't come under any pressure, I think we will be very vulnerable against any of the better teams with good strikers if Williams is in our back four. I really don't expect us to see Williams play much more this season.

Well said TAA Very Much Man utd fan here, I was coming on to say hard lines the game was unusually good compared to recent years but that doesn't matter now, I have seen what most of the "Liverpool" fans have been saying about one of your own isn't your motto YNWA looks like a lot of your fans have let him walk alone the entitlement from most of your fans is astonishing, I though united fans were bad but come one lads he's a child and your clubs child and the fans treat him like that, but i guess the fans need to blame someone as they always do instead of just excepting a lose it has to have a reason ref, VAR, individual errors ect just take the a loss on the chin and move on its easy. I see no one is talking about Trent who exposed williams almost for 90 minutes he is a fantastic player (crosser&passer) but positionally and defensive ability are atrocious but that's ok as he is your golden boy, Williams had no communication from Fabinho the senior player there at the back, no protection from your midfield either so what would you expect a 19 year old who was not only let down by his senior team mates but by the manager who I feel used him to gain one on the board which if true is a disgrace of a move to prove a point he might have ruing a child's career, but all those issues are over looked because williams made and error that lead to 1 goal.

Dio while o agree with some of your post and the hate towards Williams is disgraceful he is not a child he's a young man old enough to vote etc. also it's not that long ago utd fans were abusing shaw and pogba and ole among others. footbaall fans are fickle look at utd now all the ole haters in hiding but they be back if utd have a few bad results.

I was the one who made the comment about Williams being the worst player to ever play for us and I stick by it. I have watched us every week for 22 years so am fully aware of Aquilani, Poulson etc. It’s find on a public forum such as this, it is okay to share that opinion. The lad isn’t going to be sitting here reading that comment, it is my opinion that he is the worst i have ever seen at the club. Like I said it’s not his fault, Klopp has to take the blame putting a kid in who isn’t ready to play league 1 football never mind premier league.

TAA Very Much, I am fully with you. You should have read some of the dross that got posted here after the Burnley game. Things like "We massively over-acheived in the past 3 years" or 3 Our players have downed tools" or the typical #If FSG cannot compete in the TW then, they should sell up". Are you flipping kidding me or did I sleep through the best 3 years of my recent LFC supporting life where all my dreams came true thanks to these brilliant human being playing and coaching us. Absolutely embarrassing.

I like many on here, remember the Poulson and Jovanovic days where David Ngog was our starting CF or when BR was struggling, I could not tell you if we could beat Norwich when they turned up at Anfield or when Aquilani could not be arsed to put a shift in and we could all see it happen on the pitch. Do people want to go back to that? Didn't think so.

People like someone said, should just walk away if they are too peeved about a result and performance cos it hurts. I get it hence, I stropped posting after a loss like Burnley or yesterday. You are allowed to have an opinion BUT you are NOT allowed to start abusing players and manager, making up lies about them always being poor or that they got lucky to achieve the great things they have for this club, just cos they did not do what you wanted or win a flipping game of football or that the owners did not sign who you wanted. Lay off the hate, pls.
