Probably a bit of MOTD fever, but I think Bowen would be a perfect addition to our team.

Works hard, fast, technically very good, plenty of goals and assists and the added bonus of being HG.

Problem is, West Ham really don’t need to sell, and if they were to sell they’ll ask for very far north of £75m as he’s English and on the verge of breaking into the England squad which counts us out.

As it is, we’re pretty much priced out of the market for even remotely decent players, I’d forget any notion of signing Bowen. Raphinha or Sarr. They’re well out of our financial reach even if we sell Mane and Firmino (Sarr is particularly out of reach as Watford have an FSG price and an “everyone else price” as the Watford owner detests our owners over the Zielinski business) .

Unfortunately I’m expecting our transfer business to be at least two of Firmino, Salah and Mane to go in the summer (if not all three), I’ve certainly no confidence that Salah will renew as his situation is mirroring that which we saw with Can and Gini, and from the peanuts we get from any sales, it’s most likely that we’ll waste money on Traore and Sanches in the summer as that’s about as far as our budget will stretch.

Listen we all have opinions on who we should buy that's the beauty of football as in the laws of the game law 5 in the opinion is why we love this game last nite was a blip we could be where Norwich are so the only way is up and onwards or as del trotter would say he who dares wins.

Anonymous, I’d have happily signed him in the summer, there was plenty of reason to think he could get to the next level given he’d shown continuous improvement since his time at Hull, but we’ve missed the boat on that now.
