shughes55, calling a FIFA sanctioned comp. a crock of rubbish just cos it hurts your feelings is a disgrace. Pls, show some respect to the AFCON, man. It does not disrupt the season cos it was scheduled in this time as most leagues are on a Winter Break. This has been the case for 30 years now so if the PL doesn't have a winter break, how is that the organizers problem? Maybe you should petition the PL to not allow clubs to sign African players as that wouldn't "disrupt" the season.

I’d hate to support a team in a league that has a 6 week winter break.

JK23, The Winter break has been reduced over the years due to fixture congestion in the top 5 leagues in Europe. It's prolly down to just 10 days to 2 weeks now. So I 'm pretty sure you can hold out for that long, buddy.
