While the starting team is almost predictable barring injury, the five sub rule in Europe could throw up an unexpected appearance in the final. Fatigue might force Klopp's hand. Maybe Minamino or Elliott for a late addition? Great rule in Europe that gives a full bench and keeps every player eager.

I think Milner and Jones will certainly get minutes, Elliott im not so sure. Assuming we start with Diaz, Mane and Salah then Jota and Firmino could easily get game time but it all depends on the score at any given time and if it goes into Extra Time.

I think starting Milner (next to Fabinho) is not a bad idea at all. The sole objective being keeping a lid on Kroos and Modric. They are the lifeline to Benzema's play. And if we keep Benzema quiet then a lot of our job is done; he's having the season of his career and his confidence must be sky high.

I think you’d probably get decent odds in the bookies on a Fab-Hendo-Milner midfield to start a CL final.

I’d imagine Kroos and Modric would even chuck a couple of quid on it out of joy.

I think we'll see Milner at some point. He'll come on and take a booking for a professional foul on Vini Jr or someone like him, haha.
Seriously though, they often replace Modric and Kroos with fresh legs and we might need to do the same in the middle of the park.
I just hope we're not chasing the game like we've been doing the past few weeks. I think our options from the bench look weaker than they did a few months ago.
I'd love for Diaz to come on as an impact sub but I think he has to start because Jota and Firmino have been out of sorts.

I would start Mane, Salah and Firmino up top. I was thinking the same as Rigsby about the midfield subs. If our midfield is fully fit, I would even still have Thiago on the bench and start with Fab, Hendo and Keita. When Real make their subs to bring on more energy in midfield, we bring on Thiago for more control and Diaz off the bench against a tired defence, hopefully we can have some sort of control by the time we need fresh legs though.

{Ed0666's Note - Diaz has to start mate it’s just imperative in my opinion.

All well and good Robbospress, but what happens if by the time Thiago came on we are 2 or 3 down? You have to start with your strongest team in a CL final.

Diaz has to start because Jota is out of form. If Jota was in form and scoring, I'd love the luxury of Diaz coming on and terrorising their tiring defence. As things stand, we can't afford to wait for the last twenty minutes for Diaz to enter the game.
