Hello Ed's and reds,
I've recently had a change in jobs and in the process have gained a few new friends that are close to the world of football. I'm not saying my information is spot on or that I'm an ITK but thought I would share some information I have received.
Liverpool understand there has been a load of leaks in the last few weeks and are determined to get to the bottom of it. With that being said it's increasingly likely that we will not bring anyone in this window bar the odd youngster. If any thing changes on that front I will update as soon as possible.
There is a lot of focus on the backroom and manager from the guys in charge, as has been said by a previous post, slot has been told his contract negotiations are being put on hold and things need to change NOW.
There has been a discussion regarding tactics and set pieces, with the both needing to be address asap.
I also have to add that the silver tongued charlatan is a very good description of Hughes, I've had the unlucky pleasure of meeting him on a few occasion.
I'm new to my position and will have more information as when I can.
Much love YNWA.

These I know things but I'm not ITK posters are growing like weeds lol.

Ur friends may end up being the leaks and the information will stop. Hope not tho.
Cheers.

By the looks of you history you appear to be the most connected person in the world.
8
07 Jan 2026 17:59:17
LFC wants to stop the leaks, yet here you are being part of that problem.
Not that I'm complaining, we actually appreciate the info.
Please make sure you don't get caught. π€£π€£π€£π€£.

Thx for posting. I may have to come out of retirement and look for one of these ITK jobs! Keep it coming, makes for good reading if nothing else. Cheers.

There might not be any transfers, but there's plenty of rumours :)
If we don't add a centre back in this window - and Slot's statement today* sounded that way - then the hierarchy is utterly insane.
" Am I happy with number of options? Joe Gomez is back now, a big help. No manager in the world tells you he is happy they only have 2 fit but we have Leoni, an unbelievable talent, who is back next season. As much as has been said about the spending, it is not that there is no limitation to that spending. This club has always tried to do smart things. In an ideal world you have more than 2 centre-halves available but you have to accept that situation. I know Jurgen Klopp also had problems there and played midfielders there at times. Nat Phillips played a lot! So that has been LFC for all these years. ".

07 Jan 2026 19:06:16
If we don't bring anyone in this window, i. e. a CB that can start, Hughes, Edwards and the like need to go immediately. that's appalling knowing we only have 2 fit CBs. Mind you, you are as in the know diddly oh as the rest of them so we will likley bring a few in.
6
07 Jan 2026 19:19:33
haha thanks Neily007, i'd love to be a fly on the wall in some of those top level meetings involving Hughes. Must be fascinating.

07 Jan 2026 20:13:34
He must be an IKTNITK.
I know things, not in the know.
2
07 Jan 2026 20:28:28
Come on, we would be negligent if we don't bring in a centre back who is ready to play, but this is liverpool so anything could happen.
2
07 Jan 2026 21:45:14
Great stuff Neily. This is a rumours site after all not a facts site. People forget that.
2
07 Jan 2026 21:57:50
I thought all this while you already have such friends, i. e. someone from Liverpool whom you contacted on regular basis.
I'm not having a dig at anyone. I'm just pointing out the inconsistencies.
I disagree with Slotthedross. This ain't weed. This is grass.

08 Jan 2026 08:44:00
we have to bring in a CB this window, Gomez or Konate will be injured as soon as the window closes, and am i the only one that is thinking Leoni is getting turned into the unicorn centre back after 1 appearence he is a kid who has got an awful injury and will take 6 months to a year to recover once he can play again.
get Bastoni and Guehi and be done YNWA.
0
07 Jan 2026 14:29:40
Ed001 do you happen to know mate if we are in contact still with Palace regarding Guehi as in any recent contact this month or nothing since the summer?
1
{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there has been nothing since then.}
5
07 Jan 2026 15:10:23
Thanks for reply mate. So strange to me we are letting City come in for another player that we clearly really wanted. Hopefully we have other CB's in mind.
2
07 Jan 2026 19:07:51
Why would Guehi agree to move in this window when he can move on a free in the summer?
3
07 Jan 2026 20:31:44
I would really like Guehi to come to liverpool, but we really messed up on waiting to the last day of the transfer window, he would have made a huge difference and Konate could have been rotated.
4
07 Jan 2026 22:32:53
Wouldn't surprise me if we left it to the last day of the window and offered Palace 10 mil. It also wouldn't surprise me if Palace said No and we realise we didn't buy another CB because we were banking on Palace saying Yes.
2
08 Jan 2026 09:54:34
Maybe after the farce of Guehi transfer fiasco in the summer maybe LFC have washed their hands of signing him .
The way Parish acted going to some fitness class in the middle of a transfer and returning an hour before transfer dead line maybe it did not sit well with us and that is the reason we have sat back and let city go for him .
Just a thought guys . YNWA.
0
08 Jan 2026 17:05:13
slotmachine they may not buy anyone in case Slot goes at the end of the season and a new man comes in and does not want the players we sign in Jan window .
YNWA.

Guehi will be joining Semenyo at City. All this "ITK" nonsense we've been fed these last few weeks is just that, nonsense. Semenyo and Guehi will go to the club that was going to offer the best deals and that was always City or in the case of Guehi perhaps Bayern. But it looks now as though it will be City. Liverpool is a bin fire at the moment . Cannot get anything right.
Looks like Fede is off with no replacement lined up. Sadly Slot looks like he's here till the send of the season unless Arsenal spank is by 5 tomorrow, which may happen. Loosing Semenyo and Guehi is not surprising with the clown show we have got going on, but loosing them both to City is embarrassing. Laughing at us all the way from the Etihad.

07 Jan 2026 13:58:01
No sources kimuraking?
Sounds like you have just picked up the negative stories from NewsNow (ignoring any of the others) and/ or are just projecting your thoughts.
Which is it?
12
07 Jan 2026 14:03:06
Always a space for the most pessimistic view possible! lol.
But, yes I agree that things seem pretty dysfunctional at the moment.
On Semenyo - I could take or leave him. I don't think he would be a game-changer for us right now. Yes, we need more pace and verticality but it's pointless if we can't progress the ball through the thirds or pass long.
On Guehi - I worry that he's been made out to be some kind of unicorn CB. If he was a unicorn, we'd stump up the cash for him.
Don't get me wrong, those two players would improve Liverpool. Are they game-changers? I am on the fence about that.
10
07 Jan 2026 14:19:38
Jesus, do you slow down to see accidents on the motorway π€cheer up matey . π.
7
07 Jan 2026 14:25:38
Not like you to be negative Kim.
6
07 Jan 2026 14:27:25
So what nonsense ITK information are you using to have a pop at people?
5
07 Jan 2026 14:29:25
Are you an "itk"?
3
07 Jan 2026 15:01:46
I still think there is a good chance we get Guehi. I hope we do but either way it is not the end of the world.
The fact is that there are better players than both of them out there whom we could sign but the fact that they are homegrown makes them more desirable. It is something that we need to consider when signing players as we already had an issue where Chiesa had to be left out of the CL squad until Leoni picked up his injury. We need to replace Gomez with somebody who can actually be available and signing Guehi would be ideal for this.
We can easily sign a non-hg CB of Guehi's level but then we would likely need to add hg players elsewhere. This may be why we are being linked to the likes of Wharton who could replace somebody like Macca.
Semenyo is the same. I would have loved us to sign him but if we sign Barcola or Fofana instead in the summer then I do not have a problem with that.
It may not even be a problem. The CL issue was mainly because Rio does not yet qualify as home-grown but he will soon. Having a greater number of homegrown players simply gives us a lot more options and the key will be to either bring through some players like Rio, Nyoni and Nallo and integrate them as legitimate members of the first team squad or we will need to buy some home-grown players. I have no doubts about Rio but are the others good enough to replace any of our current non-hg players.

07 Jan 2026 15:49:11
Bigdoc. Think maybe he is. itk - i talk keek.
5
07 Jan 2026 16:50:17
He's sh*te anyway. Every clamouring for him to sign, nah he looked ok playing for England under the waistcoat who also made harry Maguire look good.
0
07 Jan 2026 17:20:21
Simply a case of someone who reads and believes all rumours! He's not the only one. Seems to be a trend with modern fans and the 24 hour news cycle.

07 Jan 2026 20:38:07
Fede is going nowhere, plus what's happening with these Italian teams, always a loan move,
Hugo Ekitike won't start tomorrow night, so Fede becomes more important,
Not that it matters too much, can't see us scoring, no Hugo no goal,
Nearly afraid to watch this match.
1
07 Jan 2026 12:02:48
Hi Diddly Ho, .
I'm sorry that we have not got Semenyo over the line - expected the club to come together and pull their pants up and finish the job once City stepped up their move.
As things stand, changes will be happening behind the scenes over the next few months with a few candidates being sounded out.
We've pressed CP for Guehi, unanimously the club is willing to spend to bring him in early (pre-summer) HOWEVER we will not pay over the top - something that could mean we miss out to City.
I've been informed that Guehi still prioritises a move to us - he gave us his word he would wait.
Let's see if he sticks to it.
Diddly out.
12
07 Jan 2026 12:46:53
Sad to hear that it seems the reason for missing out on Semenyo is down to dusagreement/ infighting behind the scenes.
3
07 Jan 2026 12:56:32
Cheers, neighbour!
1
07 Jan 2026 13:10:31
Cheers Ned.
Bit gutted about Semenyo but I can also understand the hesitancy in players wanting to join if they're unsure if the manager is going to still be there. I'd be happy to miss out on him if I knew for sure our defence would be strengthened!
We'll see I guess. I just wish we could get the training and fitness levels up and a coach that pushes us to move the ball quicker!
1
07 Jan 2026 13:17:28
Cheers Ned!
1
07 Jan 2026 13:28:51
Think guehi will keep his word, he's religious and I know that means nothing but can't see him going back on his word.
3
07 Jan 2026 15:16:38
Seems smart to let city bid to see what would be accepted. If it's Β£40m then it's a no for me. Guehi can have a send off with Palace and perhaps win the Conference league before joining us for free.
1
07 Jan 2026 15:53:35
Semenyo, like the rest will make the best move for his career. That would have to be city at this time. that has no reflection on our recruitment team.
1
07 Jan 2026 17:56:47
Agree that Semenyo will most likely go to City - but disagree that this is absolutely the best move he could make. It could be - but it's more likely that he'll go the same way as Savinho, Grealish, Marmoush, Trafford, Art Nori, Phillips, Etcheverry, Alvarez, and many more. The way City and Chelsea stock-pile players - they probably break more careers than they break.
5
07 Jan 2026 18:00:37
Semenyo was a decent shout and I wouldn't turn my nose up at him if we had brought him in but I don't think he should have ever been a priority and there are plenty alternatives. Guehi whilst on a free or coming in cheap is clever business I don't think he's a high end player and I would be worried if he was being brought in as our future CB pairing, good as a 3rd choice squad player but I'm not convinced he is at the highest level.
1
07 Jan 2026 11:55:34
I know this sounds like the start of a nonsense rumour, but a work colleague is genuinely neighbours with Semenyo's parents.
When bringing up the transfer to City, apparently the mum said to him, "you might get be surprised π"
Whether or not this was a red herring we're yet to see⦠but certainly interesting! Maybe a cheeky last minute Liverpool steal?
5
07 Jan 2026 12:06:29
Would love to see it but as far as I am aware we've pulled away - that said, the source I have could be genuinely unaware, I have a feeling leaks have become a bit more frequent as of late and the club will be wanting stop them.
My days as an ITK could be numbered.
9
07 Jan 2026 12:10:21
How all good rumours start,
My mate is neighbours with *******
Keep them coming, it is what this page used to be about rather than bickering between ourselves!
12
07 Jan 2026 12:16:48
Someone is pulling your leg. A few has been agreed, terms have been agreed and he's having a medical. He's not joining us.
3
07 Jan 2026 12:27:05
Just passing on what I heard! Also typo on "get"β¦ meant to be "yet".
5
07 Jan 2026 12:33:11
Thats more like it, a proper rumour π
hopefully mother Semenyo is right although it does seem the City deal is all but done.
4
07 Jan 2026 13:12:01
He's already done the photo shoot sadly. He'd have been a great addition to us.
2
07 Jan 2026 13:14:12
@Vik Whilst I do still expect him to 100% sign for City, Guehi was in that position with us in the summer and look how that ended up!
2
07 Jan 2026 13:32:45
Hopefully if he gets a run out he smashes it.
0
07 Jan 2026 13:48:49
Old skool rumour there. Good times.
4
06 Jan 2026 19:48:15
Just passing on something I've heard - Will Wright should be getting a game against Barnsley. Apparently they have been taken it really easy with them rehabbing the injury but he should be fine to make an appearance.
13
06 Jan 2026 21:33:47
Excellent news. Heard he's got a bit about him that lad.
6
06 Jan 2026 21:48:10
That's cool. I forgot that we signed him!
6
07 Jan 2026 08:52:32
Well if there's a Will, there's a way and I think this is the Wright way.
11
07 Jan 2026 09:02:26
when we signed him I ended up watching a few highlights it was youth football but he's got a bit about him tall good with both feet, does look like he needs to fill out a bit more muscle wise his game back was against his previous club and he scored 5 goals.
1
07 Jan 2026 12:23:14
Let's hope he doessn't 'buckle' under the pressure.
0
06 Jan 2026 17:47:32
ED001, what you reckon about the lil rumours coming out with Slot n Hughes not agreeing on the youth esp Rio n Trey, Apparently Slot wanted them to go on loan but Hughes n co wanted them integrated, also they were supposed to have put an Academy showcase for Slot to look at all the players n he never turned up ( not sure if its been discussed on here, so thought id ask )
3
{Ed001's Note - there are issues over Slot's use of youth, that was a problem last season but Hughes obviously didn't feel he was in a position to complain then. This season it has become more and more of an issue. There are similar issues with us as there were at both Chelsea and Man Utd - sporting director and head coach at loggerheads over transfers and use of players.
I don't know if that is true about the academy showcase, I had heard that but I was never able to get it confirmed, so no idea if it is just spurious or true.}
19
06 Jan 2026 18:15:27
Thought it was just bs Ed tbh.
I value your sources and info though. Seems like this is a big deal.
Awful man management, stubborn, no chance for youth players.
This is not going to end wellβ¦.
11
06 Jan 2026 18:24:18
I wonder how that Brazilian individual development coach is getting on in his role?
Another thing Klopp had in his favour was the luxury of being 2, 3, 4-0 up in games which allowed him to bring kids on. A luxury we have almost never seen since Slot arrived. Every game is coin toss.
19
06 Jan 2026 18:24:44
If I was Arne and was told you're being replaced but the replacement isn't available yet then I wouldn't bother turning up for these academy showcase events. Guess he must be on the way out.
6
06 Jan 2026 18:38:30
I do get the sense that slot might not be the best at developing players the same way klopp was able to be, and works best with ready made players of his choice, which is idea for most managers/ head coaches. Issue is, at the moment he doesn't seem to be able to get the most out of established players either.
3
06 Jan 2026 18:43:39
Doubt we wer 2,3 or 4-0 up towards the end even with Jurgen the amount of times we went behind in games. Its great using youth, im a big follower of the academy but the kids also have to be good enough. In Rio's case he's played more than any 17 year old in the country.
9
06 Jan 2026 19:46:53
Voice of reason these days Florian. I agree.
4
06 Jan 2026 20:01:19
Ed1 - we had a discussion about this topic couple months ago. Essentially Inwas asking about the synergy between Hughes and Slot. I couldn't understand your point that last summer's transfer activity was for Slot to play like how he did in feyenord, yet the players we bought like Frimpong and Kerkez didn't thrive as inverted fullbacks like he used in Feyenord.
Anyways, I wonder if this is the first public appearance of cracks between Hughes and Slot. That would seem more untenable to me tbh.
3
06 Jan 2026 20:44:22
Hughes must have been involved in the appointment of Slot. Out of all the options, that's who was chosen. Then he won the league in his first season. He was supposed to be good at developing young players in Holland. That's what I understood, but happy to be corrected.
How could it have gone so wrong so quickly?
4
06 Jan 2026 20:46:53
Sorry, Fly - but in Klopp's last two seasons, we were rarely 2-0 up. We usually conceded a goal early on, and then had to chase the game.
2
06 Jan 2026 20:57:46
Flypelican. That's bang on.
The way slot like to close out games with a one goal margin suits more experienced players, sitting in and inviting pressure. Klopp pushed for the two, three goal lead every game and generally maintained our press which meant we could afford to give kids 10, 15 minutes regularly.
3
06 Jan 2026 21:19:46
The comment he's played more than any other 17 year old though really bugs me. that's maybe because he's the most talented 17 year old out there. Again not saying he's the answer to all our problems by any stretch and throwing a young lad into an underperforming team is risky for his development but surely more cameos wouldn't do him any harm.
If he can't get into the team the way we've been playing then there was never any intention of giving him game time when we were potentially in a title challenge.
8
06 Jan 2026 22:25:00
How many youngsters did Klopp bring through?
Trent - certainly.
Struggling with any others. Curtis Jones maybe?
4
06 Jan 2026 23:01:42
Ron you're not serious surely? Klopp consistently turned to the academy throughout his tenure. I could name well into double figures just off the top of my head, of players he gave debuts and in many cases follow up opportunities to.
Kelleher, Trent, Quansah, Neco Williams, Rhys Williams, Phillips, Elliott, Bajcetic, Jones, Clark, McConnell, Gordon, Brewster, Danns, Koumas etc
Slot's come in and basically the only ones to get anything like proper chances are Nyoni, Nallo and Rio. Rio and Nyoni are the ones annoying everyone because they've quite clearly shown enough to get more minutes. Nallo, fair enough just looks out of his depth.
Slot's ignored Rio inexplicably this season. He looked one of our best players in pre-season and every time he comes on he looks dangerous for the 10 minutes a month he gets.
9
06 Jan 2026 23:08:04
Ron - i would say Trent, Curtis, kelleher, Bradley, Elliott, Bajcetic, Danns, Quansah, Morton?, McConnell?, Doak? Rhys Williams. Off the top of my head. Depends what you mean by bringing through? He gave a lot of starts in the cup games to various youngsters. Prem games the first 8 on that list.
2
07 Jan 2026 00:07:58
bradley phillips
mcdonell
the striker dann or dayn sorry its late can't remmebr his name.
2
07 Jan 2026 00:33:38
Bradley, Quansah and Kelleher comes to mind too Ron. There was also McConnell, Beck, and Chambers who were in and around the first team. I'm sure I'm missing others but I did read that he would regularly call up youth players to train with the first team even if they didn't play in first team games. Not sure if that's still happening under Slot though.
2
07 Jan 2026 07:18:52
One of the huge issues with never playing youth is the loss of the big fees when they're sold. We won't get them anymore unless more players have had more game time. We realised some incredible values during Jurgens time for very ordinary players.
2
07 Jan 2026 07:27:27
Getting real first team talent through for us is needle in a haystack stuff. Great if we can but maybe one or two every five years makes it close to being a regular starter. TAA, Connor, Kelleher, Curtis in last decade. Kelleher only due to Ali injury record.
With more subs it should be easier to get game time though. It's the poor results this season that have made it difficult for Trey and Rio.
2
07 Jan 2026 08:23:11
I don't really class a couple of cup games as 'bringing a youngster through'.
It's good for the youngster but it's irrelevant if you're looking to judge a manager's ability if they don't become a first team regular.
There's only really Trent who has made it and Curtis who is getting more games now.
The others named are simply not good enough.
So Klopp achieved 1 in 9 years.
Slot has time to match that.
1
07 Jan 2026 09:11:15
Klopp won a league cup final against Chelsea's billions with a team that featured
Kelleher, Bradley, Elliott, Clark, McConnell, Danns and Quansah.
The boys weren't just thrown in to rubber stamp games against lower opposition. Hence the financials surrounding their sales have assisted the club PSR stance.
I would consider that bringing them through. Klopp showed that the youngsters, although not maybe quite at the level to stay at Liverpool, had very good footballing careers available if given the opportunity.
7
07 Jan 2026 09:19:39
i think the point here is, whether they made it through or not, a lot of youngsters got an opportunity to show if they could step up when Jurgen was about.
7
07 Jan 2026 11:33:18
Let's be fair, Klopp never expected that team of kids to win those games and wasn't expecting to make it far in the cups with them, either. It made for a fantastic story and we all enjoyed watching them triumph but it was probably a surprise for Klopp, too, as familiar as he was with the kids that he put on the field, when all he wanted to do was keep his first 11 fresh for the league and Europe.
If Klopp had his back against the wall after a horrific run of results, are you so certain that he would be starting Rio or giving Nyoni 15-20 minutes in games?
2
07 Jan 2026 12:51:28
Jesus Ron, I used to enjoy reading your posts and always thought you were quite measured which is nice in a sea of madness at times. But claiming Klopp got 1 is absolute ludicrous.
Your defence of Slot (while I don't agree with) is still admirable, but now you're sprouting absolute nonsense to try defend him.
Even some of the ones that didn't become fixtures. Quansah we made 36mil off, Brewster 20+ mil off too, Solanke we made 20mil, Ben Doak we made 25mil off, Neco Williams made around 17mil off. Kelleher 18mil off (and that was a bargain too) amongst others like Morton, Clark Harry Wilson, Hoover etc. who all fetched decent fees! To say he didn't bring youth through is crazy. yes we had an extremely high bar to break into first team but they all had their chances if they were good enough to take it. Also to not class Bradley as someone who's come through is another crazy oversight.
Anywho rant over, I bit! I get the site is about debates but there's some amount of trolling these days.
3
06 Jan 2026 17:48:24
Rumours are suggesting Luis Enrique doesn't want to sign the new deal at PSG.
He would be a dream choice for us in the summer if things lined up properly.
I expect City will be thinking the same thing.
22
06 Jan 2026 18:45:14
Would he want to even come to England? He's older than Pep and a coupla years younger than Jurgen when he called it a day.
7
06 Jan 2026 18:53:38
Won't be coming if we don't qualify for the champions league, can't even beat Leeds over 2 games. The last time a team was in 4th place in the Premier League with exactly 34 points after 20 games, was in the 2021-22 season. West Ham United held 4th place with 34 points after completing their 20th match.
The current season's table is an anomaly, as 34 points is typically a mid-table total, the average for a top four position after 20 games is closer to 37-40 points.
1
06 Jan 2026 19:36:26
He'll replace Pep at city.

Enrique recent interview said he is interested in a move to England.
He would seem the most natural successor to Pep.

No chance we get hm. His current contract's not up until '27. Although he has stood down from multiple roles in the past. If he does leave, he'd be highly sought after, he would essentially have his pick. Zero chance we're top of his list.

The thing about Guehi is, he is aman of his word. He was very disappointed that Palace blocked his move in the summer as he had his family all primed and waiting to move. Liverpool hold the cards here they can wait until the summer get him for free and give him a massive signing on fee, or pay a fee to sign him now but that depends on Guehi.
My feeling is he will wait until the summer to spite Parish and secure his family's future with that signing on fee.

06 Jan 2026 20:04:16
Alwaysred - I hope he comes. He is right age and has leadership qualities etc. but I do find the idea that a signing on fee would set up his family lol
If he's not set up his family on his current approx Β£2.5m salary, he should get better financial advisors lol.

06 Jan 2026 20:04:43
No he's a man with common sense!
Sign for who ever he wants in the summer gets a sign on fee!
Clubs wil fight it out for him better wage etc!
Stays at his club as captain in a wc season!
Has longer to look at the mess which is Liverpool now.
Lad has options loads of them!
Liverpool could be the last one for him now.

Hi all,
Another update for you all.
This one is a bit unexpected to myself to learn considering everything else I've heard over the last number of weeks.
Firstly, I want to backtrack on a post I made some weeks ago. Liverpool never made contact with City regarding Marmoush. While we do retain an interest, what I heard was a result of his agent sniffing around and playing all angles to try and engineer a move. Marmoush does want to leave City but I'm not sure how that whole scenario is going to end up.
Secondly, Slot's relationship with senior figures at the club has started to rapidly deteriorate. Richard Hughes is said to continue backing the man, but to my understanding Michael Edwards has his gripes with both lads. I would not be shocked to see Hughes depart alongside Slot in the summer, although the situation has now opened the doors for that to be even sooner.
To my understanding this is in relationship to Slots approach to man management, the academy and power distribution. Similar to Enzo at Chelsea.
Lastly, I please ask that people on here be a bit more respectful to myself and others who are giving up their time and information to keep you all in the loop. Like the Eds have said time and time again, things change hard and fast in football and two things can often be true at once.

Cheers Victor!
Strange times for us at the minute, I think after winning the league and the summer window we had we all had optimism this manager would kick on again this season and take us to another level and unfortunately that hasn't happened.
In terms of our teamplay and our style it is pretty much non existent and we have become about as interesting to watch as paint drying. It obviously does not solely fall on the manager but he is a major part of our identity and what makes us tick so if results and performances continue the way they are we have no choice to move on.
Interesting now Hughes is being mentioned, was always dubious based on his credentials but trusted Edwards to pick someone he saw fit and after the summer it really seemed that way. But things always become clearer as time passes and the failure to obtain a centre back and get a proper option on the left wing has also hurt us.
Edwards is not one to escape criticism either as he is the one who makes the final decisions and is basically FSG's eyes and ears over the club so when things are going south with both a manager and sporting director he has a decision to make and has to take some form of the blame.
We all adored Jurgen but also probably realised he needed a break as he looked burnt out and I for one am guilty of questioning the transfer approach when Edwards left the club. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but it really does look like even though they maybe didn't always see eye to eye on everything Edwards needed Klopp and that ability to extract 150% out of every player is a very rare skill to have, one that we seem to be lacking massively right now.
It does seem to me like the club are holding off to the summer for a comprehensive review to make a decision but if the UCL places are slipping out of our hands before the end of the season a swift and calculate decision will have to be made.
Summer will be incredibly interesting as I would imagine apart from us you will have a number of clubs on the hunt for elite managers around europe, meanwhile we are currently in a bit of an awkward period were there are a ton of upcoming talents around europe as managers but most with very little experience at a club of our size. We thought we had secured ours with Slot but I have to say right now he is looking way out of his depth.
I do think we have amazing talents in the squad so all is not negative, it's as clear as day to me what talents we have in Wirtz and Hugo. Isak looked miles off it but was unfortunate with his injury and I am sure when he comes back he will be electric and firing as he was for 3 league seasons with the Geordies and in both Frimpong and Kerkez you have a rough diamond of a fullback in Kerkez that will eventually come into his own and IMO an electric rotation option in Frimpong on the right hand side.
It might be negative now and things might look messy but I suppose we have to try and scrape the positives for now and hope that the powers that be at the club make the right decisions to get us back on track again.
Cheers.

Thanks Viktor, I just don't see the similarities with Enzo. There was interference from above regarding team selection and substitutions in game time, I don't see that at Liverpool

I personally am hugely appreciative of any genuine information that is passed on. The difficulty for many on here is that there are several posters who are trying to pass themselves off as ITK who clearly just blagging it and even sometimes attempting to tarnish the reputations of the genuine ITKs.
There are so many claiming insider knowledge now that it is genuinely difficult to keep track of those that have provided information that has turned out to be true. You only need to look at the post below to see that another claiming to be ITK is saying the opposite of what you are saying. Now I'm not saying that one of you is blagging it. For all I know you may both have genuine sources who happen to have heard opposite information but it can lead to frustration.
If only the Eds could come up with some kind of authenticated ITK badge for those who they deem to be worthy it would help cut down on the charlatans who have nothing better to do than to troll these pages.

Drogie. I think Victor could be right with Enzo comparison. It doesn't have to be exact, but are some of the injuries from overplaying and minimal squad rotation? Could that have the medical dept raise concerns. Is Hughes or someone questioning the lack of minutes for youth? Pushing for more time and appearances for Rio? Lucky? Nyoni? Chiesa? We have a kid in the Prem 2 squad bagging goals for fun, why not on the bench instead of a 2nd GK? When results are garbage people get involved.

The thing with rumours is that they haven't usually been verified. That's why they are rumours.
I enjoy the stories, rumours and information but I don't come here to find out what might happen.

Nice one VG, kudos to for taking accountability.
I think we all know what's what with the ITK's. You already know the ones to trust. As for contradiction, you will tend to notice the genuine ones say pretty much the same thing, just in their own special way. There is a lot of imitators and regurgators but that adds to the fun of it. For me, I only take note of what Carra, VG, Ned, Robbo and Ed1 have to say. The rest are just noise.

I remember yrs ago I got genuine information that Daniel Sturridge had said that is next club would be Liverpool. I posted it on here nr the August window. And I got slaughtered when he didn't sign. He signed in the January. I now don't pass on what I hear.

I'm with Shipley Kopite, whilst I think most of us appreciate the information, a lot of the so called ITK seem to be either regurgitating the same info given by the more genuine ITK's and just dressing it up differently (much like copying someone else's coursework but rewording it) or just grabbing reasonable sounding rumours from so called ITK's on twitter or other forms of social media and rewording that. I've even seen some actively go against the ITKs considered more credible, when they may have got something inaccurate and write something obvious that might have materialised as if to say 'see I told you so', when it was just circumstantial, for example slot not being sacked when a few intimated he would be soon.
I totally get this is a rumours site and I've enjoyed it for years, but there always seems to be one or two that are reputable and accurate consistently, and the obvious copy cat nature of the others turns a lot of people off. I agree things change quickly in football but I bet that's also a blanket for a lot of the fakes to use as an excuse. It's not that deep, it's just also not a good look.
I will continue to enjoy all types of rumours, gossip and opinions, and this is just me expressing mine, not a dig at anyone.

Feels like it's months too late
The time to Sack Slot was absolutely Ages Ago, they've got to stick by their guns now regardless.
Just leave it till summer, seasons over anyway, just look at the state of us, we ain't fixing anything now it's gone way beyond.

I rarely post but just wanted to share my thanks to yourself, The Fields, Robbo, Carra, Ned (and anyone else I may have forgotten) . I genuinely look forward to your posts and unlike some others, understand that what you post may not come to fruition. But it is in good faith and you post what you hear from your sources. Keep them coming. Thanks.

I occasionally come on this site to read comments for pure entertainment value. I've checked in for years and I have to say that only a small percentage of posters get things right. and those who brag about getting something right are just checking the same online sources as everyone else. I won't be popular for saying this but there are very few 'ITKs' - if any at all! Most of the rumours reported as coming from personal or secret sources just come from newsnow, twitter or instagram.
I find it odd that to see someone demanding respect for just regurgitating a spurious rumour they found elsewhere. Yes, it's a rumour site and we all get a kick out of it or we wouldn't be here. But can we please not be so precious? It's not a good look and a clear sign of desperation for attention.

Hughes and Slot update.
The reports emerging today that there is a rift between Slot and Hughes over Diaz, Ngumoha and Slot's desire to replace Diaz and loan Ngumoha are inaccurate.
With lots of negative reports swirling around discontent and in-house issues, I have been advised that an investigation is taking place. It seems either a current or former employee of the club is leaking inaccurate reports through multiple sources to destabilise the club and cause rifts.
All transfers are discussed internally and people do not always agree, but the statements of a rift are untrue. The relationship between Hughes and Slot's remains strong and securing Wirtz and Isak, along with Ekitike, Kerkez and Frimpong were all well received by the Manager.
The Ordonez reports were falsely reported.
Guehi is still a consideration for this window IF a green light is given. But Liverpool see this happening for free in the summer most likely.
Just passing on info I am given. Take it or leave it.

Cheers for the info Jonny.
Personally i don't rate Slot or Hughes and i think the football we play currently is woeful but on the other hand i'd hate for us to become a revolving door for managers for the next 10 years a la United, Tottenham and Chelsea.
If it wasn't for the world cup i'd like to see what Ancelotti could do with us.

Why doesn't slot play rio? Only winger with pace to beat someone.
5
06 Jan 2026 13:04:54
If Slot and Hughes are on the same page and they think that playing THIS tactic with THESE players is a good idea, then they should both be given their marching orders.
Tactically, we are in no mans land with a squad that lacks balance and the culture of intensity and dynamism that Klopp instilled has completely eroded.
That is on Hughes as much as it is Slot.

I read the same article/ post you got your info passed on from Jonny. So many pretenders on here. I've followed this site for un countless years had various usernames etc. and until the great ed002 unfortunately passed we never saw as many ITN's.
The information of a rift has obviously been leaked to pave the way for either Hughes or slot to depart if not both. And rightly so!

Or maybe this is a "leaked" piece of info to try and hide the fact that there is actually a rift
Spy Games meets Mission Impossible meets James Bond.
Cover ups and double cross overs all over the place.
In all honesty. from what I can see, we've bought players that suit a certain style, and we are not playing that style.
Kerkez is a wing back, but is used as a ln inverted full back.
Wirtz is a 10 ( or a free role) and is played wide left
Isak is a poacher and he don't get the ball to him
Frimpong is wing back, but at least use him of late for that role.
So, Hughes and Slot both agreed on the players, and we use them in different roles. yeah right!

06 Jan 2026 14:08:34
Sounds like a mystery that we can solve on here!
Today, within the space of a couple of hours, Jonny has been told 1 thing and Akira has been told the exact opposite. You guys can get together and trace these back to your sources and your sources sources to see who is leaking false information!

In defence of our transfer strategy. Slot clearly wanted fast fbs to provide width - Kerkez and Frimpong provide that (when fit, and in form) .
He wanted a more creative 10 - Wirtz, on paper, delivers that. So far, poor lad has been more Smicer (who was hugely hyped) than Zidane, but he will come good.
Slot wanted strikers to nail the many chances we wasted last season. Ekitike and a fit Isak give him that.
We were, in hindsight, foolish to leave Guehi to the last minute - but also made a massive error in not bringing in the Zubimendi type deep-lying playmaker we once wanted.
Now Trent has gone, Virgil and Grav are constantly pressed, and we don't have the right kind of midfielder to knit all these new attacking options together. Consequently, we are struggling to create chances at all.
Should Slot be getting more out of his squad? Hell, yes. He's certainly not been helped by awful events, injuries (which he is not used to dealing with) and one or two new players being overawed by the step up.
I do think he wants to play the kind of football we all want, but is taking far too long in working out how to achieve it.
Last season, he did smart stuff: playing Grav as a 6, making Trent play as a proper right back, dropping Quansah, playing Diaz as a false 9.
This season he seems to have run out of ideas. Has he lost confidence in himself? I fear so, but hope I am wrong.

I would just like to clarify that I will not state to be ITK. I do not work for the club in any way shape or form. My "contact" holds a significant role within the club, although not based at the AXA site, although visits regularly.
I have spent quite a lot of time with this person over the Festive Period, but do not want to divulge too much about them or my relationship with them.
Interestingly Monstersouness is not too far off. These are the things Slot wanted and were delivered to him.
There is also a lot of discontent from Owners, Board, Edwards, Hughes, Slot and his coaching team on performance and results this season. All of them expected more and want more, both in results and levels of performances.
They have been shocked by the performances of some, although not directly named but Mac Allister would be an example of this.
They are impressed with certain players this season Szobo and Jones actually being named, not just in performance but attitude. Both have explained that they expect higher levels from teammates.
That being said, everyone is taking certain things into account and they are not making rash decisions like some of our competitors.
Sit tight and see how it plays out.
As someone else has said, some "rumours" might both have value in them, but be slightly different. I do not want to slander or discredit anyone else on the site.
Finally, I apologise about my Carra quip yesterday, it was meant in jest.

Johnny the information you've spouted to have been passed on to you here came not long after an article/ post got put up on the internet, even contained the same wording, I get it's a rumour site, but just pass it on as a rumour you've seen. Too many people pretending to be "ITN" imo there was only ever 3 people really in the know and that was ed002, ed001 and Macca .
Today maybe the fields, VG, Ned, robbo and carra (possibly macca) who are really worth listening to regarding real info. The rest reading stuff online and then reporting back here as if they've got contacts is cringe.

Gazzetta dello Sport has Chiesa on front page with full page "report". Quick summary:
Juventus has contacted Liverpool. They are asking for a 6 month loan, Liverpool want a full sale. Juventus want it done now, Liverpool only after Salah returns. Gattuso (Italy coach) has continually wanted Chiesa in the team for WC qualifiers, Chiesa has always knocked him back. Journo claims Spalletti (Juve coach) wants him on the left, behind Yildiz.
Italy calling, folks. That's about the sum of it.
