Hi all,

The leading contender to replace Richard Hughes in the event of a departure to Al Hilal is David Woodfine.

10

08 Jun 2026 17:37:22
This Daviddefinitely Wood be a Fine replacement...... ahem.... Seriously though, I haven't got a clue who he is.

7

08 Jun 2026 17:37:46
Wood that be a fine choice, Vic? Don't know anything about him.

2

08 Jun 2026 17:40:01
Is he any good at his job.

2

08 Jun 2026 17:45:12
How do I delete posts? On reading this back, I realise through my poor attempt at humour that I've made a fool of myself.... Sorry, everyone, let the side down there.... I'll have a word with myself.

11

08 Jun 2026 17:47:35
Yes, I think it would be a fine appointment personally.

5

08 Jun 2026 17:51:31
Is just a promotion from internal. He is under Hughes currently. No idea on his credentials or performance.

1

08 Jun 2026 17:54:24
Current assistant to Hughes. Worked with the club under Edwards and left when he did. Was head of scouting and then loan management before leaving the club. Came back with Hughes.

1

08 Jun 2026 18:02:44
Meijer, take it easy, you didn't abuse anybody. We all say or do something silly from time to time.

2

08 Jun 2026 18:09:11
"We all say or do something silly from time to time."

I think you will find I'm perfect all of the time. ;)

4

08 Jun 2026 18:11:52
Meijer, it was funny!

0

08 Jun 2026 18:12:47
Thx, Vic. Preciate you.

1

08 Jun 2026 18:27:18
Best thing that could happen if Nunez returned on a free, his workrate and fight is just what this team needs, a warrior to show the others how to run with fire in their bellies.
Could always sell in a year or 2 if it doesn't work out and any money would probably pay for all of his wages.

Attitude is 100% what we want to see and maybe the new gaffer can fine tune him.
No brainer, especially as Ekitike not available and cash needed for other areas of the pitch.

3

08 Jun 2026 18:27:58
Excuse me, sir, but I have never done something silly on this site. ๐Ÿคจ

1

08 Jun 2026 18:30:06
I say something stupid 106% of the time.

2

08 Jun 2026 18:46:38
Depends on your definition of silly Barry. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

1

08 Jun 2026 19:20:12
Very true JLC.

08 Jun 2026 15:53:44
Any legs on Nunez returning to LFC? Have seen some (I know not the best source) chatter on X/Twitter that he is interested on returning and will leave as a free agent.

I would love to see him back. Always loved his passion and spirit.

13

08 Jun 2026 16:30:17
I hope not - the amount of chances he missed, I mean, haa everyone forgotten this?

Plus Edwards and co seem adamant to get rid of every player that played for us and reset. Edwards wouldn't want to bring back a player Klopp bought. It'll be like admitting defeat.

7

08 Jun 2026 16:31:49
Any legs on Nunez?
At the last count it's rumoured that he has two.

6

08 Jun 2026 16:45:59
Nuno was a warrior for us, and we didn't have many of those last season.
His best position was coming in off the left, but he never got many chances there due to Lucho being so great and Gakpo, being so Dutch.

8

08 Jun 2026 17:10:00
Hopefully, that's one for Hughes' opportunistic signings.

4

08 Jun 2026 17:39:55
We could put a barn door on the pitch at the AXA and hand him a shovel. Start with that. Seriously tho, I wouldn't be averse to him returning. Worst case we can sell him back to the Saudis next summer!

1

08 Jun 2026 17:59:29
Would love him back. Give him the left wing role and back up striker, as we are short there, especially if he is free!

3

08 Jun 2026 18:00:05
I love him and would welcome him back. I'd imagine if it happened, it would be on reduced wages and he'd be incentivised by a performance based contract.

1

08 Jun 2026 18:08:27
I'm behind his return 100%. We don't have numbers for the squad, and he would give us 150% whenever introduced into a game. Why would we not want a free, athletic, aggressive addition?

2

08 Jun 2026 18:10:03
Yes, OP, but his legs are offside.

1

08 Jun 2026 18:14:53
I really wanted Nunez to work, but he was very average and he was even worse at the end because he was sulking and putting in less than 100% effort in.
So, unless he has changed, I would not want him back.

0

08 Jun 2026 18:15:15
Where are these Nunez return stories coming from - probably "caught offside".

0

08 Jun 2026 18:27:15
Nunez had 33 G/A in 23/24, which was 6 more than Isak, but Nunez is average and Isak is Elite.

2

08 Jun 2026 18:28:43
We judged on him being a ยฃ75m player. If he came in free to cover Ekitike, scored nine goals to cover Isak, that would be fine.

2

08 Jun 2026 18:43:57
In 3 years he showed he wasn't up to standard.

How many of the top sides in the EPL would he get into?

He stopped trying towards the end. Is that the attitude you'd want around a rebuilding team, losing most of its leaders from the dressing room?

Nostalgia signing, which I understand, but wouldn't back personally.

0

08 Jun 2026 19:01:28
If we signed him, he'd probably miss the plane.

1

08 Jun 2026 15:34:58
Hughes leaves and Thiago appointed as DoF.

12

08 Jun 2026 15:59:51
I'd take that.

2

08 Jun 2026 16:14:12
Opinion or fact?

5

08 Jun 2026 16:14:56
Ah, another IKFA post.

8

08 Jun 2026 16:15:00
It's a nice idea from a sentimental standpoint. What is Thiago's experience as a DoF?

8

08 Jun 2026 16:22:19
He had plenty of time sitting in the stands, so maybe that gave him some insight?

10

08 Jun 2026 16:31:34
Sweet FA, dbav.

1

08 Jun 2026 16:32:01
If Hughes goes, it will be his understudy taking over. Thiago could come in as a coach.

3

08 Jun 2026 16:35:29
Thiago is a coach, not a DOF.

4

08 Jun 2026 16:43:19
That sounds like a terrible idea.

3

08 Jun 2026 18:45:15
It's a rumour I started when I was dream teaming. Thiago knows more about football than pretty well all other DoF in the Prem. He is also intelligent and well respected. An upgrade on all counts in my book.

08 Jun 2026 14:22:36
Barring any late complications, Yan Diomande will sign for Liverpool this summer.

I can't sensibly give a set time frame of confirmation, but I expect it's likely we'll hear something this week.

Ta.

43

08 Jun 2026 14:50:19
Cheers, Carra.

5

08 Jun 2026 14:51:28
Top man.

5

08 Jun 2026 14:55:07
Cheers, Carra. Appreciate it.

4

08 Jun 2026 14:55:26
F***ing hell, my worst nightmare just came to the fore. ๐Ÿ˜ญ The price has been determined, we are overpaying for him. ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€

1

08 Jun 2026 14:59:34
Nice one, Carra, corroborates what Robbo said as well.
Much appreciated!

3

08 Jun 2026 15:05:07
Thanks for the good news, Cara

Diomande's next target.

Tell me who is Liverpool's target this summer!!!!

2

08 Jun 2026 15:05:20
Great news, cheers, Carra.

1

08 Jun 2026 15:08:09
tobi3,
How do you know what we're paying for him? And why the nightmare? Are they using your credit card?

23

08 Jun 2026 15:12:48
Cheers, Carra.

2

08 Jun 2026 15:14:56
Tobi3, it is not your money, and if he reaches his potential, he will be worth it!

13

08 Jun 2026 15:19:54
If you want a player that bad then, pay the money and move on.

5

08 Jun 2026 15:29:43
Cheers, Carra.

3

08 Jun 2026 15:30:39
The fee is high, as Leipzig have no intention of selling unless a crazy fee comes in.

2

08 Jun 2026 15:34:33
Keegans, do you have that info or are you basing it on articles in the public domain? I believe Robbo posted a couple of days ago that the fee won't be as high as is being reported.

3

08 Jun 2026 15:34:44
Btw, thank you Carra!

4

08 Jun 2026 15:40:25
And Tobi, where has the price been confirmed?

4

08 Jun 2026 15:53:47
Hope we get this done before he plays in the World Cup, don't want any silly World Cup tax added on.

5

08 Jun 2026 15:57:54
Nice one, Carra!

1

08 Jun 2026 16:54:59
Does he play for Ivory Coast?
We'll have an interest in their games over the next few weeks.

5

08 Jun 2026 17:07:11
Ultimately the fans always pay, whether it be in TV subs, tickets, merch or via advertisers. But we always pay.

1

08 Jun 2026 17:08:40
And, this is why the great man said it's best not to talk about finances on here.

4

08 Jun 2026 17:32:12
Cheers, Carra.

1

08 Jun 2026 17:52:52
Give it a rest Tobi, stop being spoofer. Man up and support your club! YNWA

1

08 Jun 2026 18:08:30
Tbh, the fee is not really my concern, it's not a buyers' market and there's a dearth of quality options out there, of which by some margin Diomande looks one of the best (am still gutted we didn't go for Semenyo because quite frankly he was a stand out player and would have been excellent for us).

I don't think anyone could find another player who ticks all the same boxes in terms of pace, physicality, skill, output in terms of goals and assists, and his potential is extremely high, of course there'll be question marks over whether he can replicate it, but it's the same with any signing.

1

08 Jun 2026 18:25:26
You guys remember Pepe to Arsenal, right? ๐Ÿ˜ญ
130M euros for Yan Diomande. Nobody knew him 12 months ago. PSG have backed out. That has to be something, right? Anything above 90M and I'm telling you our pants have been pulled down.

0

08 Jun 2026 18:09:01
Thanks Cara

Your post reminded me of Ed002's responses about not being able to predict the timings of transfers - whenever we pestered him on when things will happen.

1

08 Jun 2026 12:03:35
First time poster, long time followers.

Can confirm Liverpool will not be signing Kayode this summer.

Jars.

12

08 Jun 2026 12:55:38
Nice 1 jars.

Can I ask how you know this to be the case tho, buddy?

6

08 Jun 2026 13:29:30
Come on, Jars... couldn't you have just kept a lid on it...

32

08 Jun 2026 13:35:40
You're gonna need a few Jars after all the questions.

8

08 Jun 2026 13:39:36
We were jammy there, could have put us in a right pickle...

9

08 Jun 2026 13:57:09
Be careful, he's a Mason.

11

08 Jun 2026 13:59:57
First name Hugh?

15

08 Jun 2026 14:17:22
I have to admit the line spacing + name sign off really does make the ITKs so much more convincing.

12

08 Jun 2026 15:35:26
I believe the OP is talking out of their Jars.

Zed out.

6

08 Jun 2026 15:57:49
Can confirm I won't be signing for Liverpool this season also.

7

08 Jun 2026 16:45:54
Distant Red, great minds think alike. I was just about to think I was first to the fridge and boom, you grabbed the last cold Stella. Now I've got to drink warm beer. I hope you're proud.

1

08 Jun 2026 16:49:51
Brentford have no intention of selling this window.

Jars.

1

08 Jun 2026 18:12:08
But I hear they are doing a fine line in those doors.

Helping to fund the next stage of their development.

1

08 Jun 2026 07:59:37
Ed001 are Atletico interested in MacAllister, I seem to recall some interest recently?
Who else could see him as a summer option?

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - they certainly were, but I think their interest has moved on.}

6

08 Jun 2026 10:49:58
A brilliant window for me would be

Diomande
Scott
Wharton
Eichorn (to go back out on loan)
Van Hecke (but looks like he's Spurs bound)
Kyode.

4

08 Jun 2026 11:05:30
Good window, a little light up top though. I would swap Wharton for one of Sangarre/Camara, and add Bowen, who can play all across front 3, giving us more depth and quality.

I rate Rio, but he is young and has a lot to learn. We cannot consider him a starter, for me an impact sun and someone who starts the odd game, so another forward is a must in my view.

12

08 Jun 2026 11:08:21
That would leave us exceedingly short up front.

3

08 Jun 2026 11:22:20
Mr Kipling wouldn't approve, Ginger.

5

08 Jun 2026 11:26:38
Spot on, Man Of Todd.
I'm praying we don't sign Wharton this summer. I rate him. Very good player. Absolutely not what we need in the middle though. Scott and Sangare would be the absolute dream. Midfield would be set for the next several years.
Diomande, Bowen, Frimpong as RW options.
Barcola, Rio, Wirtz as LW options, sounds good to me!

7

08 Jun 2026 11:27:56
He might have a great World Cup and offers start coming in, fingers crossed. ๐Ÿ™

2

08 Jun 2026 11:29:03
Last season we had Isak, Ekitike, Salah, Chiesa, Gakpo and Rio.
That wasn't enough quality up front, particularly out wide.

Salah's gone.
Chiesa likely to leave.
Ekitike out for most of (all) the season.
That leaves us with Isak, Gakpo and Rio.

We need 2 as a minimum, with a decent argument to be made for a third.

7

08 Jun 2026 11:48:11
Diomande allegedly agreeing a deal with us over next 10 days, roughly. So that means we would need one. I don't think Chiesa will leave in the summer window; would be January if any.

3

08 Jun 2026 11:54:08
I would not want us to go anywhere near Van Hecke, bang average at best.
Would like another wide forward with pace.

9

08 Jun 2026 12:27:52
Van Hecke with Iraola's high-line? No thanks.

After Y. Diomande, the big decision is what we want to do in midfield.

If we are going with Wharton, then the RB that comes in had to be someone like Kayode.

If we go with a more defensive minded midfielder like M.

Sangare, then a more technical RB like Mingueza or Palestra will work.

In both scenarios, I would love to see us bring L. Camara in anyway.

Agree with others - we would need at least two forwards, possibly three.

7

08 Jun 2026 13:07:16
Surely Frimpong covers rw as well. Morrison could be an option, and Elliott, if he stays and signs a new deal.

3

08 Jun 2026 14:15:50
Frimpong is not enough of a goal threat to play rw, in my eyes. He is not great at beating a man or finishing. He is good for overlapping and getting balls into the box.

2

08 Jun 2026 14:17:12
Don't understand why we haven't registered interest in Elliot Anderson. Think he will be a monster of a player.

4

08 Jun 2026 15:19:09
Kieran Morrison will probably get a loan. He seems physically ready for that now and he's signed his new deal.

Re Harvey Elliott, I would be surprised if we kept him, given what Iraola values mobility. We will see, but I could see him going to Red Bull Leipzig if the interest is still there.

Frimpong's size/strength would be a concern if we are to play more man v man. The way he gets bullied is not great. I suspect they would cash in if any suitable offers came in.

0

08 Jun 2026 15:20:59
Van Hecke? Really? Hard pass, just like @Pelican. Dreadful defender.

1

08 Jun 2026 15:53:14
I think Van Hecke is a really really good player. He's just slow, which is a very big disadvantage for a center half.

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - dodgy as hell defensively as well. He is a bit like a right-sided Senesi - good on the ball but not an actual good defender imo.}

2

08 Jun 2026 09:26:04
Hi Carra,

The other week you said we were looking into a loan for Zabarnyi, do you know if this is still be explored and how likely?

Thanks for the info mate, your contributions are ace!

6

08 Jun 2026 10:23:19
I might have misunderstood, but I think it was more that his agents had approached the club about a potential loan rather than serious interest or possibility.

5

08 Jun 2026 10:45:16
Think it was that FPF, personally think we should follow up on it as he's a decent player.

2

08 Jun 2026 10:46:58
Ok, thanks Fly, seems like a no brainer to me and would free up funds for elsewhere.

0

08 Jun 2026 11:20:16
Vik has given his approval for a player. That's a sure sign that we should go all in for him. ;)

3

08 Jun 2026 11:37:29
I have spoken with his agent who lives near me and he knows nothing about the link to Liverpool, although he said it would be better than keep travelling to Paris.

2

08 Jun 2026 12:24:15
Dracred, something is wrong with Viktor. He's been unusually generous and approving of late. I'm worried for him. ๐Ÿคฃ

2

08 Jun 2026 03:24:04
As it stands, Salah is seriously contemplating an offer from the MLS, as he thinks it would be good for his family. Didn't mention which team it is, but probably not hard to guess as only a select few can afford/has a designated player spot for him.

As it stands, he hasn't yet received anything from Saudi, hence why he is leaning towards MLS for now.

Things change, but just wanted to share this direct from my source for now.

12

08 Jun 2026 03:55:27
I do not see the political climate being acceptable for him and his family over there in any way.

18

08 Jun 2026 04:13:46
Miami? Florida has zero state tax. CA is progressive to 13.3%. I would imagine that plays into the equation. San Diego easily the best quality of life with climate (average is about 22 w low humidity). Florida not the best QOL and the weather can be brutal (high humidity).

Swings and roundabouts. I travel all over the country with work and without doubt southern CA is the best QOL, but not perfect ie high taxation. Hence why may companies are leaving the state.

8

08 Jun 2026 05:05:09
Kaiser, with my work (former military), I've travelled a lot and spent a good amount of time in the Middle East. What I learned was that people are inherently good and politicians and news media make things seem way worse than what they are.

Life is good here in the USA despite the political turmoil that we see on the TV. Salah would live in an incredible community with first class security and lifestyle.

14

08 Jun 2026 06:04:01
Salah would be going to the States as a major asset. He wouldn't need to worry about politics, as he would be shielded from everything toxic while at whichever club he chooses.

This isn't some 36-year-old who played down the leagues and is going for one last payday. Salah will cost a lot, but also his name will bring in a massive amount of revenue for the club.

Elite footballers like Salah can play anywhere in the world and be adored. American people are more diverse than we think. We only see the extremes as that is where the headlines are.
As long as he stays away from politicians, for them to raise their popularity through him, I would say Salah will be fine.

9

08 Jun 2026 06:17:56
Believe it or not, the political climate really mostly only affects people here who choose to pay attention to it. The ICE crap from last year was way more exception than rule and it's been over for a while. Salah would have no more issue here than in most places in Europe.

We have a lot of crazies in Washington, but most of the country is pretty sane (I mean, quite a few places vote really stupidly, but are otherwise sane). I'd think chances are very good he'd really enjoy it here.

8

08 Jun 2026 10:16:16
FWIW San Diego FC is owned by Egyptian Mohamed Mansour, and he has expressed his desire to bring Mo to the club in the past.

2

08 Jun 2026 10:27:12
Your source is full of it. Salah has 3 Saudi offers on the table, one from Al-Ittihad, one from Al-Nasr and one from Al-Ahli. His wife is not so keen on Saudi, hence him considering other options like the MLS, but to claim Saudi has no offers for him is the biggest lie to date I have read on here.

3

08 Jun 2026 11:04:19
Somebody really got out on the wrong side of the bed this morning, and needs to rant/abuse to get validation to go through the rest of the day.

2

08 Jun 2026 11:24:02
Abuse? Alright mate, sorry for sharing what I know to almost be 99% fact, you believe what you want. ๐Ÿ‘Œ Just don't know why so many pretend to be itk is all that is slightly annoying.

1

08 Jun 2026 11:33:51
ArneSlotsBarber, mate, almost 99% of what we read here is opinion, conjecture, projection and wish. Nothing is really factual until it is reported as such, as having happened. So, I just think it is really harsh to label people as "liars" on the site.

They could be wrong, you could be wrong. Nothing personal against you at all, but I just feel, being in a collective and having a common goal in being here, we could address each other with respect and kindness. There's enough s*** around us everywhere else.

10

08 Jun 2026 12:33:03
You're right, mate. ๐Ÿ‘Œ Thanks and apologies. ๐Ÿ™

3

08 Jun 2026 12:43:29
No apologies required whatsoever, am happy you're not offended or anything. ๐Ÿ™

2

08 Jun 2026 17:57:34
Red Flyer, so true. I've travelled extensively and the one thing that I've learned is that you do not know what a country is like until you have been there yourself. The news media paints an awfully distorted picture.

I was told I wouldn't get a visa because I look Arab/North African. The embassy staff were warm and friendly and so were the people in the US.

1

08 Jun 2026 19:14:32
RedFlyer and MB,
Telling everyone everything is fine over the pond is just ridiculous.

07 Jun 2026 22:00:56
Anyone got an update regarding Dom's contract situation. Read on here, he apparently wants 300kpw which, for me, is far too much. Looking on Capology, and he is currently on ยฃ120kpw. Looking within the team Wirtz is on 200kpw and Gravenberch ยฃ277kpw although not confirmed.

Capology have his updated length but not his salary.

Rice and Odegaard are on 240kpw.
Reijnders is on 230kpw.
Foden 225kpw.
Cherki 180kpw.
Simons 195kpw.

So, for me, his contribution to the team I'd say 225kpw, but if he's going to be captain then 250kpw.

1

07 Jun 2026 22:27:17
I'd been told it was all agreed a couple of months ago. Not heard anything from that particular source since (I believe they no longer have a connection, and were fed wrong information intentionally) - so I apologise for misinformation.

Diddly out.

20

07 Jun 2026 22:33:06
Does Capology actually have Gravenberch at ยฃ277k? I'm sure I checked a couple of days ago, and it was a lot, lot lower than that?

3

08 Jun 2026 00:32:33
If an employer sees a value of a certain employee and offers something, and if an employee feels he has a certain value to an employer and asks for a certain amount, well, that's normal, right?

2

08 Jun 2026 00:40:54
Zed, it just has his old money of 150kpw but his length is now 2032.

Whoever gave Grav 280k a week needs to be double sacked. Same goes for Gakpo. Wirz 200, Hugo 250, Isak 280. Can see why Dom wants what he wants. Not Wirtz level, not a striker, so I think 250 is fair in this market.

He is probably looking at the players who are leaving and thinking there is plenty of money in the pot now they are going.

Fair play to the lad for seeing value in himself. He puts up with positional changes and still usually comes out with best performance of the team.

He is also a dead ball specialist who seems to be getting better week on week.

Pay the lad what he is asking for or we will wind up losing him for nothing when his contract ends.

The ยฃ280k was reported solely in Der Telegraph, IIRC, and all other reports quote it as their source. I'm not convinced by ยฃ280k being correct.

I've just checked, Capology has Grav's salary at 150 but it says it is not verified. But, when you click to a section called extensions, you see Grav at 280 per week.

That means that either they do not know which salary it is or that the salary shown in the "salary section" is wrong and not updated even if they updated that date.

Well, when you have Gakpo, Grav, Wirtz, Hugo and Isak on 200-300k, then it doesn't surprise me Szobo and his agent would be negotiating for 300k. Surely that's their top ask and negotiation will get them to agree on 250k~.

100% of the wages at Liverpool are performance related and heavily bonus oriented, to make 250k a week, there are a lot of factors that have to kick in, like winning the league or the Champions League, like starting 80% of games, like goal bonuses, clean sheet bonuses and even assist bonuses! Not one player at Liverpool makes the "reported" wages because the actual numbers are simply known only to the club, player & agent & Big Brother.

Otherwise all these numbers thrown about are absolute nonsense! Thanks.
