I was laughed down when I said I fancied spurs to finish second this season. Its not looking so unlikely now. I genuinely think they're the danger, them and Chelsea. I have z feeling Everton fans started celebrating too soon, all these bits on football focus saying how nice to finally have a top team. Apart from eating spurs aznd drawing with us they had an easy run. They will struggle to keep up with the top teams now. At least they don't have to worfy about relegation. Perhaps.
All in all a very satisfying weekend of footy. We have some tests coming up though, I don't know if we still top the league in a months time.

My same thoughts Thunderbird2 . there is only 3 points between 2nd and 11th, first week in January after most teams have played each other once is only when you can get an idea of what may happen.

Ed025 I think you and everyone else knew that Everton were going to have rough patches due to the quality of the squad. Everton have spent big money on lots of players and they have proven time and time again they are not up to it. The summer signings and Calvert Lewin have proven to be good signings for you and you have shown that you are moving in the right direction. If you can clear some of your under performing big players and get another 2-4 good transfer windows in then i'm sure Ancelotti will have a squad at his disposal that can challenge. This is Liverpool's strongest squad for some time but it took 4-5 years to get there.

{Ed025's Note - yeah i totally agree JK, we all like to play at being the manager but in the end it means nothing, 4 of that team yesterday should never wear the shirt again and i thought carlo was poor in his selection and tactics but they dont ask me, its very frustrating when you see players who dont give a toss getting picked week in week out and one of them even captaining the side ffs, but as you say its not a quick fix mate..

Wolves will be a danger as well, with no European football they have more preparation time than the rest of the 'big' teams. It will be strange season for sure, maybe one that will suit mourinho so spurs are definitely dangerous. Let's take it one game at a time and see what happens!

Robbie, it is only 7 games in so slow down cos you have neither been proven wrong or right yet on where Spurs will finish yet. Also on another day and another ref and VAR, BHA beat Spurs cos that Kane pen was a joke, the Trossard pen shout would have been given and had BHA played with actual strikers, who knows? They are beating the teams they are supposed to beat of late and hats off to them. They City after the intl break so let us see how things go.

I am well aware its only 7 games in. It hasn't stopped reds claiming the league will be ours again. Spurs are slowly going about their business. They have world class players and a highly successful manager. I think they're the danger. Let's see where we are come xmas.

Sorry ed025, didn't mean to sound harsh. I still thimk Everton have a massive chance at top 4 or evem the title. I'd be v surprised if you aren't playing European football next yesr.
