I think the team really needs a change up. Change to a 4231 with Carvalho/ Elliot in behind Nunez. Obviously when he’s back available. 2 mids holding protecting our fullbacks pushing on. We are screaming out for another quality midfielder in there to do that. And stop hitting and hoping long diagonals that end up short. Everyone is pushed up then they can counter. Still hopeful of a big season from the boys!

In Klopps post match presser he said that Fab was left out for tactical reasons. He said we have 5 available midfielders and can only play 3. We only have 3 available attackers so we can’t play more than 3 attackers so that is an early indication perhaps a formation change is planned.

Only thing is 2 weeks ago he counted Carvalho as an attacker and last night as a midfielder. If he wanted to play 4231 then Carvalho or Elliot could have played the 10 role easily enough.

Bobby is also another option for the 10 but when he plays up top he drops into midfield too often. If he starts at 10 he’ll end up stood next to Allison when balls are going into the opposition box.

Fabinho deserved to be dropped he as been poor this season, and was woeful when he came on.

And replace Fabinho with who, Mighty Reds? Milner? Henderson? Frankly that’s is a disaster waiting to happen as Neither of them are a number 6, as was shown horribly yesterday. A distinct lack of quality in depth is rearing it’s ugly head. Fabinho has to start as there’s no one else capable of replacing him.

As for dropping him for tactical reasons, I can only assume that the tactical reason was to gift United the game so the United fans would go easy on the Glazers.

Klopp has shown that he sets the system up in pre-season and persists with it through the season. I can't see him fundamentally changing the system. Perhaps some tweaks but not an all out change of formation.

The reason that Fabinho should've played is because of a lack of alternatives. Milner should not be starting games.
And I can't see what Firmino has to offer anymore. He should have gone years ago but I'm sure someone will tell me that he does things that I don't see. That's not scoring goals or creating them though.

Have a look at Liverpools average player positions last night. Bobby spent more time deeper than Milner and playing almost alongside Hendo than he did anywhere else on the pitch. Trent and Robbo averaged higher minutes up the pitch ?.

The thing with bobby dropping deep is their cbs have no1 to worry about so salah and Diaz are getting doubled up on. only when carvalho came on did we even worry united. As for that chipped pass bobby tried, wow give it up.

Trent will average more minutes in the attacking half than anybody else on the pitch simply because he forgets to defend!
