How many points do you think we need to make top 4? 12 games left I think we need 29 points minimum, probably means after these next 3 games we will need to win just about all our remaining fixtures. Got to remain hopeful.

Mark over the last few seasons 4th spot has been secured from 66-71 points (varying on season) with us actually needing 75 points to get 4th in 17/ 18.

I think looking at the fact we are 6 points off 4th already it might mean we need 30 points minimum so Newcastle and Spurs would need to only pick up 23 points from their remaining 12 and 11 games.

On south Brighton are still in the picture and have a game in hand over us.

With 36 points to play for there’s not really much room for error. Especially looking at our next 3 fixtures.

What’s happened in the past is irrelevant (hands up everybody who said winning two cups last season means absolutely nothing …. ) .

We aren’t going to finish in the top 4 and to be honest I’m surprised to find somebody who has spent two thirds of the season unremittingly slagging off the club, the owners, the manager, the assistant manager and the players is saying that - after we lose our next three matches - we just have to win all our remaining games. All said, no doubt, without the least possible hint of irony.

Can't see us making top 4 unfortunately, doubt Bournemouth result was the death nail for that.
Even though we probably do better against the bigger teams our next 3 fixtures extremely difficult,4pts out of them 3 games wouldn't be bad considering who we play but that won't be good enough for top4 I doubt.

I think it will be extremely difficult to do.
We'd probably have to win 9 (27 points) of our last 12 I think.

We have a chance of winning each of our 6 home games - Arsenal, Fulham, Forest, Spurs, Brentford and Villa. That's 18 points available - though Arsenal and Spurs will prove tricky.

That means we'd have to pick up 3 away wins out of City, Chelsea, Leeds, West Ham, Leicester and Southampton. While those last four might seem winnable, our away form combined with their relegation avoiding fight might make it difficult.

I don't think we are good enough to reel in any of the teams ahead of us (Newcastle, Spurs and United) . 1 of them might slip up enough for us to sneak past but i think it's unlikely 2 of them will capitulate.

We will have to get at least 5 points from the next 3 games which will be extremely tough. I would hope Diaz makes a difference up front. The 5 forwards must surely at some point get their acts together. We have Spurs to play at home and Spurs have to go to Newcastle so that all helps.

I know financially it’s important, but I honestly wouldn’t be too sorry to see us not finish 4th. It hasn’t hurt Chelsea’s ability to sign players, and after this seasons showing in the champions league. maybe give Klopp another opportunity to win the Europa.

MK these other teams are not very good either mate.

18 Mar 2023 17:35:54
They're not Mark but i only really see us matching their patchy form which just won't be enough to close the gap.

Well Conte has ripped into his players. The craziest press conference I’ve seen since Mourinho peak.

That could go one of two ways for the Spurs run in.

No longer bothered to be honest cos for every battering or victory we get, there is a wretched, spineless perf. at Bmouth, Forest, Wolves, Brighton or Leeds just around the corner the following week. We will finish where we will finish and deserve every bit of it.
