So after ytd's results on the team
- TAA can't defend in a full back position but MF May do fine is he doesn't need to be covering his FB like Hendo used to
- VVD is done, he makes a few mistakes each game and attackers get joy attacking him now
- hopeful but it'll be tough to get CL as utd and newscastle don't look like dropping much points
The title seems city bound. If arsenal had just won 2 of the 3 they drew, they may still be in control but I think it'll be very hard now
Sorry ed25, I honestly can't see where Everton can pick up points except that n the last day against Bournemouth, it may be too late then. But hey miracles can happen and the whole of Merseyside needs Newcastle to lose, so why not start from tonight?
{Ed025's Note - i hope we do sg but i feel it will be impossible if we lose tonight, the likes of forest, leeds and leicester are fighting for their lives and im not sure our guys are up for the fight but i hope im wrong, the biggest game in our history will be against leicester next week and if we lose then we are down mate..

Looks tough Ed025 - The foxes are better off now Brenda has left - Wolves is a game you could get a result from - I think you need about 8 points from the rest of the games to be in with a chance of staying up on goal difference.
{Ed025's Note - its where them points are coming from though KC, do this lot have balls for the fight?..i doubt it, and our goal difference is not great either and we cant score which is another nail in the coffin mate..its not looking good..

Did anyone notice how Trent as become so lazy in midfield? Literally walks most of the game.

I thought Trent was excellent again centrally for us and Curtis Jones put in a wijnaldum like performance and could save us a few quid in the transfer market. Why hasn't he been playing all season? keeping the ball well in tight situations just our defenders need to concentrate a bit better now.

OP is a load of rubbish.
How is Trent still getting dragged? He was probably the best player on the pitch last night, excellent in posession and defended in that midfield role excellently.
As for VVD he also had a good game. I don't know what you watched. He misplaced a pass in the first half and then proceeded, along with Matip, to win every single aerial duel, prevented a certain goal and won the ball up the pitch several times. The Jarrod Bowen offside was also excellent defending, you can see he purposefully steps up which is the only reason that goal was offside. I understand he should probably not show him onto his right but it was an excellent finish.
I think people's agendas and negativity are getting in the way of logic here. VVD has not been as good as he should have been this season but he's nowhere near finished at this level and there is little doubt with some good midfield protection in front of him how good he could be.

So Trent puts in a man of the match performance in midfield and still he gets stick! Not sure what else the lad needs to do.

I thought Jones had a good game last night. It’s promising and a little worrying how our younger midfield players seem to be the ones that are standing up and being counted this season.
Be it Elliot, Baj or now Jones. When it used to be our senior midfielders.

Yes jones is defiantly getting better he’s probs been one of best midfielders we’ve got atm hope it continues.

I don’t get the hate
TAA was great offensively but defensively he’s still suspect. He did win the ball a few times in midfield but check out the WH goal and the time the ball got nick off him in our box when he was defending in FB position. 2 statements can be true - TAA was great offensively in midfield and suspect in defence in the FB areas
As for VVD, it’s been quite a few matches this season. We got lucky with their offside goal but the way he defended it was awful. Even for their goal, he didn’t close down the ball enough. And no, he didn’t just misplace one pass all game. I see was as being needing to be the best, so at his current level, he isn’t good enough anymore.
Ed 25 I’m sorry about your situation. I said then Dyche I’d a good manager but not good for the current Everton. He needs a couple who can finish, a hardworking team that can defend and he gets neither. The players really don’t seem up for it which is worrying. But if you do go down and persist with him, with good support, you will be back sooner than later.
{Ed025's Note - i actually think it will be a long while before we get back up sg, this motley crew have no fight in them and in the championship thats paramount, being so close to FFP means we wont buy ourselves out mate and i feel sorry for Dyche as he is hamstrung mate, but i wouldn,t want anyone else in our position..
