The great Toni Kroos retires and whilst this is the Liverpool page i'd love to hear what Ed001's thoughts are on him as a player.

{Ed001's Note - it is a tough one because he was brilliant but it was only about 4 games a season where he was ever put under any pressure at all. It is difficult to say how great a player is when the opposition were mostly just stood around watching him pick his passes. You look at footage of him, youtube vids of his great passes, and you are hard pressed to see any opposition player in sight. They look like training vids. I would love to have seen him put under pressure over a period of games, to test his mentality, as he did have a tendency towards laziness. That could mean he tired and make lots of mistakes if pressured. I know I would have looked at Madrid and wanted to test him by man marking him if I was an opposition manager or analyst. As it was, games were just a leisurely stroll in the park for him.}

At man united, money has gone before passion and look where they have fallen.
Liverpool Football Club was brought up as a fans club where the hard working honest and passion of the fans is world renowned if we ever get to the state that man united have where money is more important then we should be ashamed of ourselves and the club should cease.

You only have to look at the passion of our fans from Sunday and the send off Klopp got the love for the man, the expression of how much the man and the football club means to us all was there for all the world to see. Long may the passion stay with us reds YNWA.

Thought I'd come on here and share my thoughts after a very emotional, but jovial farewell to Jurgen Klopp.

I wish that man knew the impact he has had on myself and the immense joy and pride he has brought to Liverpool and the supporters, including myself.

It almost felt like I was losing a family member when he announced he was leaving in January however I had come to terms with his departure as the season was drawn out. Sunday felt like a proper good-bye, but one of optimism and excitement. A testament to the man he is was his support for Arne Slot and his rallying call to supporters around the world. A man happy to sacrifice the spotlight for those around him, as evident by the celebration being shared by all the staff.

He will be missed greatly, not just for the football but the man he was outside of it. He just understood city, the fans and endeared himself to the supporters. He is a fantastic manager, but an even better person.

As I've grown from an immature teenager in my early teens to a fully blown adult in the years Klopp has been at Liverpool it feels incredibly strange to see the man finally depart. Growing up with his team has been a blessing and Klopp has been great for just understanding life as it should be. Football is important, but not the be all end all, there are far bigger issues than those faced on the football pitch. His attitude towards the world, belief in the community and undeniable fortitude in tough times have really influenced my beliefs and helped shaped my personal development.

To this all I can do is thank him, I wish he could read these words.

I read a quote from a Mainz fan, Mara, who offered her opinion on the great man and thought it perfectly encapsulated my feelings:

"So is there life after Klopp?

The poet Robert Frost said, one thing I've learned about life is that it goes on. I think Klopp would be the first to wish that for any club he has stayed at.

So Liverpool will be fine, but never the same as before. "

Danke Jurgen, you made the people happy.

{Ed025's Note - nice post that MM, kudos mate..

One for the conspiracy theorists. Did Jurgen Klopp [edited from JG] call time in November because he knew the club was bringing back the management structure we have now, or did the club take that tack in the knowledge Klopp was leaving?

{Ed025's Note - im confused...who is JG?..

The ones I’ve seen is Jurgen previously said he would leave if a documentary was to be made.

I think he really is genuinely tired. Tbh, I think if last season didn't go as bad as it did, he would have walked at the end of that one instead. But because we were in need of a rebuild, my thoughts are that he felt a certain responsibility to fix the squad and signed a new two-year contract to do so. This season, my guess is that he felt that he has renewed the squad enough and gave a good foundation for the next manager. His job was done so he reverted back to his original plans to step down.

Wish I could blame autocorrect ed25, but no just having a moment! JK not JG!

{Ed025's Note - we all make mistakes mate its not a big deal, its just with you doing it twice it confused me..

No conspiracy here. He’s just reached his limit and wanted to go at the top. Sometimes there is nothing more than the prima facie facts.

Liverpool or Rome

Wherever Slotty manages

He'll never need a comb. never need a comb 🎵🎶.

God bless Jurgen Klopp. He came, he saw, he conquered.

Welcome Arne Slot, now is your time and we wish you every success at LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB.

Hang on tight Arne, you're in for the ride of a lifetime as you are now in the reds family YNWA.
