Surely getting 180 minutes of competitive football would help his case more than staying behind training? But yeah, it's dedication, I just don't know if it's the right decision.

Well I think it's not just competitive minutes is essential. 2 weeks of daily training and working on how he can better adjust to our style and shape can be good for him.

With nearly all of our first choice 11 being away it's a good opportunity for klopp to work more closely with the likes of shaqiri, Milner, lallana as well as the younger lads. I'd rather shaqiri spend time working on what he needs to do to convince klopp he can be trusted instead of playing 2 international games for a team who's system is very different than ours.

Nice to see that he's showing to make an extra effort to improve himself and fight for more involvement. It shows he actually cares when you see so many players lately just happy to pick up their wage at a big club.

Two weeks of training on how to track back, and press effectively in sync with the system, can only help his game and the team. At some point in the season Shaqiri (and Ox) will have to justify the faith Klopp has put in them by not going out and getting an AM.
