I think it's time too forget playing the ox on the wings in a front 3, his quality is in midfield or a number 10 role breaking from deeper assisting an shooting he is more comfortable there, up front he doesn't influence the game .

Hailstones I’m with you on that mate. Ox has always looked better for us in midfield and he offers us something a little bit different to what the other midfielders do. Keeping our front 3 fit is the main factor in us winning the premier league. I think if we lost 1 for a substantial amount of time then the task would become substantially harder. I was expecting to See a little more of Brewster this season but clearly Klopp doesn’t think he is ready. Maybe a jan loan would be good for him.

Ox is superb at bursting through a midfield to create space, but he doesn’t inspire the sheer panic in defenders that Salah does. That’s not his fault, he gives his all every time he steps on the field, but Salah is so dangerous that we are essentially at a numerical advantage just by having him there.

Firstly, the main positive with Ox is that his fitness and strength are increasing game by game. You can see his confidence slowly growing.
Secondly, his versatility is a positive for Klopp too.
On the whole, though, I’d agree with Hailstones and I prefer him more centrally.
Perhaps he’s lost a little pace after his injury and it looks more obvious when he’s out wide?
But the main thing is, he’s just a good footballer and a sound lad. He’ll do what’s asked of him unfailingly and seems one of those players that glue the team together, on and off the pitch.

I don't think it has anything to do with him having lost any pace, I just don't think his movement off the ball up there is very good like salah, he is so much better in the middle of the park, A bit like when they play Bobby out there just not his natural roll they both want to come to the ball more than run in behind that salah does all game long.

Spot on, OP. I love Ox and have loved him since the day he shut me up up for good for slamming his arrival at LFC. The guy is a brilliant player and a true gentleman, off it. I will agree that his days at playing on the wing should end here, IMO. He is not a wide man esp. not a wide man the way Klopp wants his wide men to play.

In fact, Klopp said he did not sign Ox to play wide and that he signed him to play in midfield and we all knew the damage Ox did to teams before his injury. The fact that Origi plays the wide position better than Ox does (Origi is not a wide man by trade) just tells you all you need to know. Either way, Ox gave his all and did some good things. That will help him moving forward.

Agreed Hail Ox is a midfielder now. I think we could do with a back up wide man.
I like Shaq but I want someone in the same mould as Salah and Mane, obviously not as good, but a quick direct player rather than a Lallana/ Shaq technician.

Agree with you all guys I love the ox an want too see him happy playing and contributing its excellent to see him part of the team again, but he has too be played deeper to get the best . Like he said everyone wants too be stevie g in midfield, that was when he was playing for arsenal, all power too the ox .

When he gets in them pockets in midfield his strength power pace and shooting ability is hard for teams too stop he can be just as dangerous in midfield its promising for the future .
