Rhys Williams showed again, and this time playing against teenagers that he is too slow to slot in a high line defence. I know he will improve in terms of positionig, but he won't get any faster. Thoughts?

Never mind how slow he was, his positioning was completely wrong and he got way too tight to him, completely exposed and cannot understand what Klopp see’s in him.

He got caught badly there I’m afraid, although should Fabinho been covering better?
Conversely the young Villa centre back, Revan was it, looked very decent - quick, strong, good ball player.
I still think Neco Williams needs to get on the weights, lot of the Villa kids were out muscling him.

He may improve but his total lack of pace means he won't fit into our system. Nat is the better defender and an aerial boss compared to rhys. Highlights the desperate need for a defender because matip Is quality but is only avaliable for 10 games a season at best. Maybe west ham will pay 15 for origi to replace haller and allow us to buy a cb? Seems our only hope right now.

Can’t really argue with that on Williams. Interesting that no one has mentioned Hendo diving in to easily for the set up of the goal.

Nat Phillips is not pacy either so the problem is the same for both players.
