Malen to Dortmund is on! Was looking forward to seeing him in Liverpool Red!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dortmund will then go and flog him for 80-100m in a couple of years, odds on that we end up buying Traore who scores one goal in three years and then can’t get shot of him. Standard.

Vvvv how can you say that when we have bought, Salah, Mane, Bobby and Jota in recent years who's values have obviously rocketed, did they score one goal in three years? If we buy Tralee then I trust our transfer policy, I think you are totally wrong pal.

14 Jul 2021 18:43:05
Traore's value will not rocket in the future. I would stake everything i have on that. In my opinion if we were to purchase him it would be most he would ever be worth.

14 Jul 2021 18:39:02
Mighty reds, you trust that traore would work out? Have you watched him play? If we went for him as an option up front, I would definitely I question our transfer policy at that point. I’ll wait and see who we bring in, let’s just hope it’s not yet another injury prone player.

14 Jul 2021 18:46:53
Traore isn't realistic anyway, yes Klopp is interested but Wolves value him far higher than he is worth. There's no way we are paying silly money for him.

Mighty Reds, we’ve also bought Keita, Ox, Minamino, Shaqiri, and around the Firmino era, Allen, Borini, Markovic, Balotelli and others who’ve not been successful, so let’s not jerk ourselves off as transfer gurus. In specific reference to Traore, literally he’s never scored more than 5 goals in a league campaign and he’s shown nothing to suggest he’s going to start scoring shedloads (and that 5 goal haul was in the Championship) and even Harry Wilson has more career goals than him, in fact he’s scored as many as Traore has in the premier league in one awful season at Bournemouth. So even Harry Wilson is more effective.

Just remember when Chelsea are after Chiesa and Haaland, City are after Kane and Grealish, United have signed Sancho and are after Camavinga, we’re tyre kicking around Traore and Sanches, neither of whom have any business at a champions league club. Underwhelmed is an understatement.

If you can honestly say the idea of Traore running up the line and either running the ball out of play, blasting the ball into the kop or over hitting aimless crosses game in game out fill you with excitement, then fair play to you. But it just makes me roll my eyes and think ‘is that the best we can do? ’.

Vvvv I would argue that the Ox has been a success, mini we will make money on and some others were before Klopp, listen I am not saying Traore is the perfect answer but I think 25 mill will be the kind of area we look in, I actually think Traore is more about Assists and he missed Jimenez massively last season, as Silva is just a young lad who's game is completely different, I also think Klopo would get the best out of him, he made the Spain squad so he's obviously not that bad a player, but like you say there are better options, but I think we owe it as fans to trust our transfer policy.

14 Jul 2021 19:23:59
How much do you think we could sell Firmino for?

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps €40M or so but clubs are looking for younger players and a buyer won't be easy to find.}

14 Jul 2021 20:01:58
Are we talking about the same Traore here? You think Traore might go for £25 million? Clearly deluded.

14 Jul 2021 20:17:59
I don’t think Ox has been a success because he’s had so much time out through injury. At best the jury is still out,

As for Traore, we’ve no one like Jiminez for Traore aim for, we literally have no out and out centre forwards at the club. Not one. Which would imply that he’d stink from the outset as he’s relying on a target man in the 18 yard box like Jiminez. And getting the Spain squad isn’t any sign of quality any more, let’s face it, they play Morata up front and he’s got to be one of the poorest forwards in European football.

Not even Klopp could make a success out of Traore for the simple reason that he’s got no end product. Scoring goals is a problem for us and bringing in a player like Traore doesn’t help that because he neither creates them or scores them. One semi good season is all that he’s had in his career and at his age he’s as good as he’s going to get, which in this case he isn’t good enough to even considered as mediocre.

14 Jul 2021 20:21:14
25M mighty reds, are you having a laugh, absolutely zero chance would Wolves accept that. They would want more than double that based on what Ed002 has previously said.

He's not worth anywhere near what he would cost and 25M would be rejected immediately.

14 Jul 2021 20:24:55
I know one thing, if Liverpool had circa £200m to spend on transfers this Summer, we would not be buying Harry Kane and Jack Grealish.
Decent players, yes, but worth about half that, for the pair, in my opinion.
I don’t know how people are handing Man City the league title because they may sign those two. Ridiculous.

14 Jul 2021 20:36:46
Doesn't really seem wanted by wolves (at least when NSS was there), and contract has one less year on it. I reckon someone (not necessarily us) could get him for £25m this window. Now, whether he's worth it to us, or indeed if wolves would accept another staggered payment from us on top of Jota, is another discussion.

14 Jul 2021 20:39:26
Anyone who doesn't think the club have been superb in the transfer mark since Klopp came nearly six years ago is having a huge giraffe. its the main reason we are competing with teams who have spent far more than us.

14 Jul 2021 20:52:40
His current contract ends in June 2023, but still the question has to be asked, why waste money on a forward who doesn’t score or create goals?
