Ed666 I read a reply from you to one of the posts regarding Salah .

The issue for me Ed666 ( son of the devil ?) is that we shouldn't be in this position. We've let both mane and Salah's contracts run down at pretty much the same time, so to lose them both in one season would not be good. We will probably see Salah leave on a free which is criminal in my eyes!

I think we should have sold maybe Mané last season and started the rebuild then. Like you say we've lost big players at liverpool, not only recently- throughout the decades.

{Ed0666's Note - I couldn’t agree more mate letting Salah leave on a free is the crime of the century! How can you let one of the greatest ever players in the English game potentially leave for nothing? Maybe Edwards has to take some blame here??

The point of contracts is to protect the player and club but you cannot force a player to sign (my impressionis a lot more player will go for free as its a huge pay day potentially) . Personally if it wasn't for C.V. I think mane would of gone last year. If I remember correctly there wasn't a lot of movement or money floating around. Plus I'd imagine there was a fair amount of confidence Salah would accept our offer. So maybe you can accuse the club of being a little naive.

but the club have offered him a contract, one he doesn't think is suitable. So now we have a choice, let him go for nothing or take an offer. If RM offer 60m I'd snap their hand off.

Not because I don't rate Salah, but I think he's made his mind up. And if madrid want to pay 60m to take him a year early get it done and re-use it for the future.

Itll be a shame to see one of the best go, but Liverpool will always be bigger than an individual.

Personally, I’d settle a small amount of the blame on C.V., as one of the Ed’s mentioned a few days back.

Would we have come so close to a potentially epic season with new players all in one go?

Mane had one of his best seasoned for us last season with regards to goals and assists. If he had gone last summer then I think we wouldn’t have got as close to a quadruple as we did because last summer Diaz and Nunez were unheard of.

Lot of talk of Mane and Salah getting moved on but not so much on Bobby. What’s peoples thoughts on him and their solution with their red tinted glasses off.

Ed066 you cannot force someone to sign and you can’t make another club pay what you want for him.

What I would say is I agree with ed001 that having all 3 forwards contacts expiring at the same time was a bad move and could have been avoided.

{Ed0666's Note - isnt what you saying an oxymoron or a contradiction in terms? If you can’t force people to sign and can’t make clubs pay what you want how can you say letting all three forwards contracts dwindle at the same time a bad move by the club?

I really don’t see the issue. Let him go for free. Sure we could sell him this summer and get some money but to lose him and Mane in the same window, imo, would put us back a step. Let him run riot this season trying to get his last big contact at whichever club and earn Ballon D’or then let him go.
