I’ll pay his bus fare there if it helps?

It was something i stumbled upon but so many rumours out there. There's a player in there somewhere I'm sure but not for us.

He was the best player in Germany for a season. Why was that? Is he simply not trying whilst playing in England or is the physical and quality difference too much ed?

I have yet to find an explanation that makes sense to me on why Keita has struggled so much to get going. It feels like a case of immaturity and attitude problems, but I'm not sure how that puts him on the trainer's table so much? Does he not keep himself in the right shape, eat the right things, so he's always prone to muscle issues? Or is he a guy that pulls himself out of the lineup at the first sign of a little niggle? Or am I missing something else?

Seems to me to be someone who is talented and tried really hard to get a club like us to sign him, make him instantly rich and then he’s slacked off ever since. His motivation doesn’t seem to be winning football matches anyway.
I would sell him to anyone daft enough to buy him.

Swap deal Naby for Phil.

How about not swapping Keita for any of Barca’s deadwood, Jimmy. Cash, up front.

24 Apr 2021 15:23:55
Cash up front for a sick note 6 times how much u think he will bring in? He’s a shambles none of this there is a player in the tripe! See 02’s verdict on him! Lads not a 8m ballers never mind 60m.

I would be amazed if we managed to get around 20 million for Keita.

And, if we did somehow manage to sell him, I would wrap him up in bubble wrap just to make sure he doesn't accidentally hurt himself along the way.

{Ed001's Note - is that yen?}

I’d take a fiver at this point. Just not any of the various wasters that Barcelona want shot of as they’re just as bad.

The Jamaican dollar, not pounds.

Well Jay I don't think anyone is in disagreement about Keita BUT there are reasons we signed him and the reaction from fans was unanimous at that time too. The rest is history unfortunately.

I'd take 20 Indian Rupees for Keita at this rate.
On a serious note, 10-15 million pounds bid for Keita, and I'd snap your hand off for that.

This signing really bothers me. His injury record isn't good.

His injury record isn’t that bad. He had one bad muscle tear that kept him out for a long time, he then got a resort injury as he clearly wasn’t ready and was rushed back. He then had surgery on that muscle and has been fine since.
Picked up an ankle injury in December time and was out for a while.
His injury record is better than what people think and has had less time out injured over the last 3/ 4 season than both matip and Gomez.
As long as he’s recovered properly from his muscle tear he’ll be all good.
He was also still growing when these injuries happened so that will have impacted things.

Has to be better than Gomez an Matip

Thanks for the insight Moreton.

Although there are doubts about his injury issues, there’s no doubt about his talent. He’s a a big unit, dominant in the air, quick on the ground, seems difficult to get past and he’s only 21. Let’s hope the injury issues are superficial.

Talent is clearly there but his injury record is definitely a cause for concern.

Our injury record with centre backs recently has been nothing short of horrendous. Matip will probably have to leave, no idea how we'll be able to shift the guy considering the injuries, to accomodate Kabak possibly. And, Nat Phillips deserves a chance to play more regularly elsewhere because when Konate comes in, Nat will have no chance.

We love an injury prone player, a lot of decisions at the club are starting to get more and more baffling when you assess them.

Interesting rumour that FSG are seriously considering selling.

I understood that a rumour was sparked by a 'supposed' ITK that ONE of the six owners of ESL EPL clubs was thinking of selling.

So, in my mind, a) it was just a rumour and b) the rumour didn't specify a club.

If they support Klopp in the market this summer and bring in the players we need to keep us at the top then that will go a long way to repairing the damage that's been done here. But the scars will remain i'm sure. These things are clearly out of our control but so long as the players and coaching staff are supported i can look the other way. Don't have much other choice.

Beware what you wish for. Reforms of ownership have always been bad for the common people. Are you aware that the Duke of Westminster owns most of Liverpool City Centre and you only go to shop by his good grace!

Red flyer, there’s no chance we can rebuild and bring in the players we need with no CL, and I’m sorry but at this point that’s klopp and the players fault, as we’ve had another great opportunity to walk through an open door and fluffed it against Newcastle and Leeds. FSG have backed klopp enough imo, I don’t think that’s been a huge question mark for me, but now, due to the C.V., it’ll be hard not to sell assets in order to break even and reinvest. Some players needs to move on regardless and klopps favourite firmino is one of them, at least this means he would stop constantly playing him. Also ‘stay at the top’ we aren’t there anymore mate, we’ve got to start over. But I do understand your sentiments, I just don’t think it’s feasible for FSG to be able to do that, we either work within our means, which is jack rubbish, or they sell in order for us to be in a position to rebuild this team.

Kman, good points. Hoping redbird investment helps our cause. But, we still have the players to compete next season provided we stay mostly healthy. I don't think we need a rebuild.

Agree with you on this debate RF
We do need a CB and Konate is a great option if you overlook his recent injury record.
I believe we need a new forward and although this may be contentious, I would use the sale of Bobby to fund a new signing, as he has been below his best form for 2 seasons on the bounce now.
I also feel like we need two midfielders, one to replace Gini and one other, selling Shaq and Oxlade Chamberlain and Grugic in the process.
Don’t think we would get what we would want for those 5 players ( sweet fa for Gini) but it is surely better to get their wages off the clubs outgoings in any case.
