So all the talk is about spurs at the moment sod that I am more worried about what we going to do at left back with robertson out, I love milner but him vs zaha is a worry .

Agree3 Disagree0

Depends on your point of view mate, Zaha is overrated in my opinion, Millie will be fine.

It's either Milner or Larouci if Robbo is out. That's football, you just have to adapt. Could be that Larouci starts, plays a blinder and keeps his place in the team, you just never know.

{Ed002's Note - Or even Adam Lewis.}

Larouci is a winger he will never b a reliable left back it might be good for his development but long term he a winger, lewis looks naive too me both need experience too see how good they really are.

{Ed001's Note - at this stage Trent was a central midfielder, but he did ok when dropped in at full-back. Aaron Wan-Bissaka was a winger until injuries saw Palace ask him to just have a go at full-back in training.}

Isn’t Lewis injured.

21 Nov 2019 17:09:37
Hailstones, how do you k now Larouci will never be a reliable LB? You may disagree as to whether he will be good enuff to step in now but saying such a thing has no basis in current fact. Regardless of the TAA and AWB examples, there are many examples of wingers who later became brilliant FB's. Take Marcos De Moraes a. k. a Cafu for example.

If Larouci had been fit and played in the League Cup games, he might be in with a shout of playing, but since he wasn't, I doubt Klopp will take the risk.

I expect Milner to play, but I'd personally go with Gomez.

21 Nov 2019 18:47:59
I was just about to say Gomez SR. If we are worried about Zaha’s pace then he would be the obvious choice.

21 Nov 2019 19:09:05
Palace play three up top, I’d play Milner left back and stay tight. Keep vvd close if he does manage to spin him. Then Lovren should be able to manage ayew and Trent keep his winger quiet. We shouldn’t be scared of Zaha.

I know wat u saying ed and you are correct but trent was blooded into the team at the deep end an could hold his own defensively I think it was one of trents 1st games was at old Trafford and he was superb an from there was part of 1st team an never looked backed, trent is a magical player with a wand of a right foot like having gerard ability at right back . But my opinion wat I have seen of larouci is his qualities are best served going forward and attacking . I hope he proves me wrong by the way I want him too succeed .

{Ed001's Note - isn't Trent's quality best served going forward and attacking?}

21 Nov 2019 21:47:37
Yes indeed but trent has shown enough defensively as last season we had best defence in league with him part of it so I think his defensive game is underrated although going forward he is lethal an it's his stronger attribute, I just think against someone like zaha larouci would have a rude awakening unless he had a good few games under his belt too prove like trent did an robbo .

22 Nov 2019 08:19:47
my be we could go 3 at the back that would give trent and milner a lot more freedom and play Bobby and Mane up top together. keep it tight I would take a 0-1 win away to palace with the few injuries we have and keep the pressure on city.

23 Nov 2019 12:35:48
People keep saying Trent is poor defensively is something I can't understand. I watch us play a lot like many and it seems like, he has more to do defensively cos Salah is mostly allowed to stay up and not track back cos he is our outlet. That is not the case with Robbo cos Mane is brilliant defensively. I think this contrast is done as a tactical ploy by Klopp cos as soon as we get the ball in our final third, Salah is already on his bike for the out-ball due to his blinding pace.

Hence, when TAA is up the field, he is where he is supposed to be, IMO. To me, he is not "caught out". He is where the coach wants him to be as in, on the front foot. This is whey our midfield is there to cover for the FB's and if they can't do that, our CB's are capable of defending in wide areas as well. TAA is brilliant at what he does for the team so should be left there to do what benefits the team.
