I know people are blaming Pep Ljinders for our recent regression in form, identity, transfers, you name it, but the buck stops at Klopp.

He has been utterly hopeless this season, counter-productive to an alarming extent. Stubborn, unable to adapt and resistant to change. He has presided over this period of collapse and allowed it to happen. The fact that Klopp does not see any issues whatsoever, is reason enough to be worried.

Klopp promised that if we were afforded more time to train, we would be far better. Well, you've had plenty of that time, and, somehow, we are so much worse. How such a thing is possible is actually mind-blowing, but we are.

Klopp is at fault for the mistakes and failures of this season.

You can talk about injuries hampering us, but, the players that get injured, baring Diaz, have always been injury prone. You can't act surprised when Ox, Keita, Jones, Jota get injured. That is all they have done in recent times.

You can talk about our players getting older. Yes, because Klopp allowed these older players to stay at the club rather than selling them off at a decent value. Klopp refuses to give up on player's that have neither the legs nor the heart to give back. The best managers see when this is happening and act accordingly by getting rid. Klopp needs to understand that he is the manager not their best friend.

Recent transfers have been horrendous too. Nunez, 80 million for potential, you cannot be serious. Gakpo, who looks equally as out of his depth upfront as on the wing, a player that lacks the energy to sustain his press. Technical decent but what is the point if the opposition crowd you and limit your options. Ramsay, Carvalho, cheap options that leave us crossing our fingers that they develop into top players.

We were desperately crying out for midfield reinforcement and we went for another striker!?!? The hell.

You can call me what you want, I don't care, but when is Klopp going to be properly judged by this fanbase. Any other manager would have been sacked for our performance this season, but no, we keep blaming Pep, FSG, etc, etc.

Klopp is at fault for this, and, if he goes, I would thank him for his contributions and move on. We are bigger than one man, and maybe, just maybe, his exit will wake up the fans who see FSG as unconnected to our plight. I hope so, because the days of competing with City, United, etc, is over. We can't even perform against Brighton, let alone beat them.

There are some dark days ahead, and I'm not sure anything other than new owners will brighten it.

And it's Klopp's fault that we won the League, the CL, the FA Cup and the League Cup?

29 Jan 2023 16:47:03
He clearly can’t see the problems anymore. I think Klopp needs Help maybe a DOF to buy the midfielders for him that he’s refusing to get over the likes of Gakpo.

29 Jan 2023 16:48:45
What about firminio, vvd, nunez, carvalho, taa, Robertson. These have all had injuries during the injury prone players' injuries. That will be klopp fault I'm guessing?

Feel we are turning into wenger our brigade, careful what you wish for. I'd rather support klopp and have other support arsenal until they drop off, then support the next flash in the pan. Just hope the klopp out brigade don't get their way and ruin it for the rest of us.

Days of competing with utd? When was the last time we really did that 2008? We wasn't good enough then they haven't been.

Out of curiosity who you employing after you sack klopp?

29 Jan 2023 16:57:18
Two things 1st who would you want to replace klopp and 2nd stick with them through the bad times and the good times will come back it could be worse look at Everton ha ha ?.

This is a collective effort that has left us in the position we are now in. FSG shoulder blame for not investing enough compare to our competitors, especially when you factor in how successful we have been over a 5 year span. Klopp for loyalty to certain players that should have been moved on ages ago and his inexplicable reluctance or inability to adapt his tactics. Milner, Naby, Bobby and Ox should not be considered for a contract extension and all should be thanked for their service, albeit some more than other and it’s a goodbye.

The players shoulder some responsibility for, well I don’t know what to call it. Could be ‘downing tools’ because for vast majority of the season there has been no fight or spirit. That’s the most concerning thing more so than the results because as others have consistently pointed out following loss after loss is that we have no god given right to win every game. That is true as a blanket through away statement and when you look at it in isolation. But I mean come on the performance have at times be down right embarrassing, which even the most red tinted glass wearing fan can admit.

Then lastly the players need to be held accountable. Even with the players at our disposal due to injuries and the lack of any real midfield of note we should have not dropped points in a lot of games when you compare the manager and players to the oppositions. What’s also completely baffling is how 9 players out of the first team 11 can be out of form for such a prolonged period of time. Can’t remember the last time that has happened to a top 2 side because that’s what we were, a top 2 side. Also can’t believe we are saying the season is a right off in January but short of winning the Champions League it is. Anyways that’s just my two cents on things, seeing as this is a football forum and whatnot.

29 Jan 2023 17:22:53
Rigsby you are correct it's because of Klopp we won the champions league and league. But it's also because of him in my opinion we lost our last two champions league finals.

We did extremely well to make up the points against city last season. But once we caught up it felt our legs had gone then. Particularly remember our draw with spurs. If we had just won that. I don't get how we never reinforced our midfield after those end of season performances. I could see an emergence of an issue. But this season has been just disappointing. The issues with the team yes there are issues have been mentioned on here many times. It is just disheartening that there has been no visible improvement.

29 Jan 2023 17:24:33
Everyone needs to just chill now, write off the season and see what we look like next season. Still as bad next year and we will have some serious questions to ask, even if Klopp. Until then we all need to be comfortable with how trash we are and accept it because we aren’t going to get much better this season. ’

Big job on ahead but Klopp will need to earn his money. He’s done it before with worse players he’s starting with now. Let’s just see if he has the energy for it.

29 Jan 2023 17:26:27
Jesuschristalmighty, the Klopp out brigade don't attend games, so they will have little bearing on Klopp staying or going. The people who attend games, home and away, are 100% behind him.

“Klopp is at fault for this, and, if he goes, I would thank him for his contributions and move on. We are bigger than one man, and maybe, just maybe, his exit will wake up the fans who see FSG as unconnected to our plight. I hope so, because the days of competing with City, United, etc, is over. We can't even perform against Brighton, let alone beat them”

I mean make your mind up.

You explain why we need to bin Klopp, fair enough that’s your opinion. If everything you have mentioned is Klopps fault then what exactly does that have to do with FSG? If you are blaming FSG for not funding the club you can’t blame Klopp for not buying anyone! If you blame Klopp for buying the wrong people then clearly money is being spent?

Also, we’ve written Gakpo off after five games. Really?!

It’s clear you’re angry and that’s understandable given our position, we all are, but let’s try to keep some sense of perspective.

29 Jan 2023 17:50:11
Remove Klopp and replace him with who? Hardly like there’s loads of quality out there. Even then, his replacement has the same players and the same constraints by the owners.

29 Jan 2023 18:03:39
Anybody else come on here just to have a giggle at the outrage? I do.

Tough times ahead kids but that's sport I'm afraid. in fact life. Enjoy the ebbs and flows of winning and losing.

As you've hinted, in broad terms, Alonso, it's clearly not just one thing that has led to the current situation (just like it's never just one thing that makes you title and trophy winners) .

But you've omitted injuries, and the timing of their injuries. And for me, they have played a crucial part this season, just as much as the factors you've listed. Firmino starts out the year with a bang and then gets injured and then relapses. Nunez and Gakpo (the heir apparents to the No.9 position) have been unable to pick up the slack, and I don't blame them; it takes time sometimes. VVD gets injured (yes, VVD is not the VVD of old, but I'd still take a VVD at 80% over Gomez at 100%) . Then Diaz gets injured and relapses. And Jota gets injured and relapses too.

And there is the question of tactics and tweaks. If you don't wan to press, that's fine, don't press. But then move that high line back. And I don't understand why Nunez is not starting but Gakpo is. It's been said that Gakpo has to start because he's a 35 Million purchase. That's right. Start the 35 Million guy but bench the 80 Million guy. That makes sense to only some people. I would start both. Our best forwards now are Salah, Nunez and Gakpo. Just start them and let them learn how to play with each other. Deal with today and not what happens when Diaz and Jota come back.

I won't say anything about the midfield. Except Bajcetic is the one shining light in the whole midfield debacle going on at present. He makes some mistakes but he is still far better than the guy he's replacing, on current form.

Good post Aray mate. Injuries have indeed hindered us. I love Nunez so he is omitted from this alongside Allison. But I did say even with the injuries we should have won a number, not all but a number of the games we have lost this season. That’s when you match the players we had at our disposal and manager against the oppositions. We have been out thought and tactically out worked 9 times out of 10, which is concerning to say the least.

29 Jan 2023 18:54:44
Klopp did sign a midfielder in the summer and Klopp would have bought a top class midfielder in the summer had.
Why can't fans understand this?
We signed Arthur and Klopp was interested in Tchouameni and Valverde.
Why do fans keep saying that Klopp can't see we have problems in midfield?
Can anyone tell me that we didn't sign Arthur or that Klopp wasn't interested in signing Tchouameni and Valverde?

29 Jan 2023 19:37:12
When we beat Manchester City earlier in the season (October), I thought we were well on our way to challenging for the title, once again. And then we went off a cliff. That match seems so long ago, and it isn't.

29 Jan 2023 20:11:21
Didn’t Klopp say that Nunez had a niggle so that’s why he didn’t start? I’m sure if he was 100% fit he would have started.
I think Klopp is being very cautious with his squad hence the subs that he constantly gets hammered for. And who could blame him for being a bit paranoid about injuries? As he’s trying to get the team going again he’s just not going to take needless risks and end up with more injuries.
As bad as we’ve been I am 100% sure that without the injuries we’ve had we wouldn’t be having these conversations.
We certainly wouldn’t have fans calling for Klopp to be sacked which is just mental to me.
We just need to suck it up it’s part of football. You can’t win every game and sometimes you go through bad spells. Even the great Liverpool teams of the 70s and 80s had baron spells when they were introducing new players and systems or had key players injured.
I’m convinced we’ll be just fine we all just need to hang in there and trust the process.

29 Jan 2023 21:48:47
Rome1977, just because people don't go the match dosen't mean they have no say about the problems we are going through .

Because you choose to pay an over priced season ticket does not give you the right to make a comment like you did some reds were probably going to watch the reds before you were born.
