I'd like to vent.

Saw an article where Carra says LFC should go for Tuchel instead of Slot.

What is that idiot smoking? Him and Neville always go against what was done just to be controversial.

Slot has been mentioned on this site for a few years already wrt quality managers. and I actually couldn't be happier with him.

Have a great weekend all and may we actually win šŸ¤£.

{Ed025's Note - Carragher and Neville are paid to be controversial JLC so i would not hold any store by their opinions mate..

Hello Eds. Anyone a little surprised at how much Slot is already talking? I know he has to answer questions but he seems to have gone very public over something which is not surely not yet public info until any alleged compensation is agreed and the offer made?

{Ed002's Note - An offer was made and rejected. Liverpool need to agree to pay more. It is not a surprise Slot has cleared the air.}

HI All,

I've waited a little while before posting as I always prefer the dust to settle after any poor results etc so that I don't react emotionally.

I, like many will be gutted to see Klopp go but I've been studying his body language over the last couple of months and he really does look like a guy who's exhausted and a little out of new ideas. He's probably fed up with the poor refereeing standard in this country and to be honest, I can't blame him. I want to thank him for all he helped us achieve and getting us back from doubters to believers. I'll never forget where he took us from to where we are now.

Now, having been doing a little bit of research on Arne Slot (as I assume it looks pretty nailed on he will be Klopp's successor) I'd like to give my take on him.

Very young for a manager who has already earned a lot of plaudits from other managers but one who certainly looks to get the best of out of the players he has around him and he does look to have a little twinkle in his eye.

Personally, as it's been quite some time since Klopp's announcement to leave, I'm now very excited to see what our new man brings to this team that is full of potential. We are in a fantastic position considering where we were and I'm looking forward to seeing how his new ideas/ philosophies look on the pitch.

Let's please, all get behind him, give him some time to adapt to our club and the league we're in and hope he brings out the best of the talent we currently have at our disposal.

I'm optimistically excited and already buzzing for the new season to see how we look under a new manager with fresh energy and ideas.

YNWA.

Hi Ed's, just wondering how it will work for transfers now we're facing some transition.
I would assume with new big dogs in the club, and then a new coach all your transfer work suddenly takes a flip. Is it usually your manager who asks for say "I want a LB with this skill set", then scouts go find said player and then the club rates them etc?
Must be hard to be prepared for transfer season when you have a new coach who may not have had any time with the squad and be able to identify weakness!

{Ed002's Note - The responsibility for transfers remains with Fallows and Hunter with input from the coach.}

Hi Ed's

Is there a reason why you think why Klopp doesn't fancy Harvey Elliot. Always seems to do a job off the bench.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect he sees him as just a little behind others - no more than that.}

Was at the game, last night, Ed025. Considering that you had little to play for, and we were still up for PL title, your attitude and commitment to the game was first class, whereas ours was an absolute disgrace.

Not that I needed it confirming, as I've been to loads of Merseyside derby's, but the atmosphere is vile, far worse than when we play the Mancs. You've been saying this for years, I know. Whatever happened to the friendly Derby? Hope you're well, mate.

{Ed025's Note - im afraid that ship sailed many moons ago Rome, im one of the lucky ones who went to Wembley twice in the 80,s and the atmosphere and comradeship between our supporters was spot on mate, i would say from the late 90,s it went downhill, and i have not attended a derby for a long time due to the vitriol and sheer nastiness that i witnessed, that is both sets of supporters, really sad but i think its more of a social problem than a football one as the lack of respect for each other is astounding, im good thanks mate and hope you and your family are too, cheers..

To be fair Ed I was at the semi final in the fa cup a few years when big Andy finished you off and the atmosphere that day was relatively well mannered. There was a rousing rendition of ā€œyou should have gone to the nationalā€ whilst we where all waiting down Wembley train for the tube (it was the grand national that afternoon as well - the one Neptune collonges won if I remember correctly) . Everton fans where laughing along and it was all good between both sides.

You are right though, most since then have been horrible.

{Ed025's Note - do you know what Wassa the vast majority of the fans are decent people. But the dick head element has spoilt it for us all mate..

There is nothing wrong with Nunez - he is a class act and uyou can see that in his positioning and runs. He just doesn't fit he style we play under Klopp and that's all there is to it. To get the best out of him would probably require an orthodox 4-4-2, with Jota playing off his shoulder and Gakpo as the reserve striker.

Klopp's departure is probably also weighing on the players minds. A new manager will have new ideas, new tactics, new style and will look to bring players in and offload players that don't fit.

Really, we've never got over the loss of Sadio Mane.

{Ed025's Note - there is something wrong with Nunez RL, hes a striker who cant strike mate..

Yeah a 4-4-2 with a goalscorer playing alongside him šŸ˜‚.

Ed025 I'd like to see him under a new coaching set up. This whole "finishing" topic has been going on long before nunez. I remember mane missed a massive chance against leister which cost us the game and essentially the title. I remember salah couldn't score against Madrid in the final. When it really matters there have been numerous times our "finishing" was poor.
Yes there's a discussion on nunez but he's still scored 17 goals this season and 10 assists in a system that i detest. The footballs woeful most of the time. Gakpo and gravenberch cost over 70 million and how many goals or assists have they contributed? Diaz misses massive chances all the time. There's not unlimited worldclass finishers out there. Harry kane and that's it. Maybe haland but kanes elite.

{Ed025's Note - i think i would give him another season MIZER because i feel he still has a lot to offer, but he has to improve on his finishing and composure mate..

26 Apr 2024 03:49:39
Composure is the main point Ed. I don't think I've ever seen Nunez place the ball in the corner out of reach of the keeper. He usually just smashes it full power towards the general area of the goal, even when he's a few yards away. That's whag causes him to miss so many. If he can calm down more, I think he would be a very good player.

{Ed025's Note - he is a massive threat to any opposition side Drac with his speed and directness, its just that last bit that lets him down mate and of course thats the most important bit, dont give up on him though because there is a very good player in there i believe..

26 Apr 2024 07:16:21
He is definitely too desperate to score and the only thing lacking is that bit of composure which every great striker has, I agree he needs some 1:1 coaching but they must have already identified that surely!

We play 442 every week once 443 doesn't work.
