Midfield is definitely an area that will be strengthened next when we next go into transfer market, so I have too say James maddison should be one of the first to go for, that lad is a gem .

Fantastic player but if Leicester managed to swindle what they did from United for Maguire, I wouldn’t like to think what they’d try to get for Maddison.
Perhaps they knew of United’s sheer desperation but the gulf between Maddison and Maguire is so large that they’d surely demand a lot more for the latter.

Think we could see a few midfielders move on at the end of this season. Lallana, Grujic, Wilson and possibly Milner. If Naby doesn’t find some kind of form and fitness this season then who knows he could even be at risk. We have young Harvey Elliot but again next season he’s only going to be 17/ 18 years old so still a kid. I can definitely see at least 1 very good established midfielder being signed.

I’m not sure that our analytical approach to transfers will marry up with Maddison’s price tag?
I’m more in favour of adding an added goal threat, allied to industry of course, next year.
I still maintain that there was a case for doing so in this Summer’s window, look at the numbers of goals that Man City have already totalled.
They may get de-railed now and then but they’re handing out real hammerings on a regular basis.

Personally I've been quite impressed with Buendia so far. He needs to prove it over the full season but he would at least come without the British premium price. He's also only 22, doesn't take on silly shots (Maddison hadn't scored in over 30 attempts before yesterday), and has more bite than most attacking midfielders in the league. His decision making is superb to boot.

Man City’s goal difference will always be higher than ours no matter what we do, they have a style and quality to dissect teams that is largely impossible to replicate. We are a very different, but equally as good team.
As for City’s goals scored column, Watford should be docked points for bringing the game into disrepute with that performance yesterday. Their aggregate score against City since Pep came in reads: 3-35.
Flores should have sacked himself as well. I knew he’d roll over after that comeback performance against Arsenal.

Leicester done a great bit of business with Norwich and they surely would be looking a kings ransom if he wanted to move. He would cost a fortune, unless he ran down his contract 😉😉. For the money, I don't think he would have the same impact on the team as VVD and Allison.
Saying all that, at the age of 22, he could play 10 years in our midfield, so maybe the price tag might be worth it?

I have too say if we could get kai havertz, I would definitely rather have him as in world football in his position he is seriously hot property, thing is though if u think maddison is expensive havertz would command ridiculous money .

I don't know. I have a sneaky feeling that Grujic has developed sufficiently enough to provide a valuable option in midfield. He may yet end up staying with us long-term despite all that has happened.

He would be a luxury player. Not the type of midfielder that would fit into our style. I agree that he's a top player, lovely goal on saturday. With milly maybe leaving, id expect a player more of his mould?
