Good morning Ed001 how is everyone in Edward land?

{Ed001's Note - fine over mate, just wondering why everyone is overreacting so massively to a draw.}

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2020 08:56:06
I would guess the reason might be because Liverpool were expected to beat WBA Ed001 but I may be wrong.

{Ed001's Note - so what? People are so self-entitled these days.}

I haven’t read the comments yet Ed1 but from my perspective in the second half the players lacked urgency and didn’t take their opponents seriously enough.

Clearly the Matip injury didn’t help and we have to remember this was only Rhys’s second premier league game so mistakes are bound to happen.

A draw still keeps us top which considering our injury list is no mean feat.

Beat Newcastle and it’ll all be forgotten. Hope Matip is back for ManU game.

Merry Xmas Ed!

{Ed001's Note - merry Christmas mate.}

The over reaction to a draw is unbearable at times yes it’s disappointing but that’s it nothing more
Up the pool.

Clueless, of course we were meant to beat WBA, we are the champions, top of the league, pretty sure Klopp won't be agreeing with you. There is no logic at all to what you are saying Ed001, what does "self-entitled" even mean in this context? Once again talking down to people when you don't get your own way, god how you ever get any articles published I'll never know?

{Ed001's Note - if you don't have the intelligence to understand what self-entitled means in this context, then it is little wonder you say this. Talk about a hypocrite, your posts are constantly talking down and belittling everyone and you have the cheek to criticise others. Oh well, your choice. You aren't worth my bother.}

For me Ed it’s the injury’s to the same area of the field that makes me annoyed and not so much the result in which we gained a point. I can’t look passed the fact that if we fall short this season in the league it will be the injury’s and lack of options in defence that’s cost us.

{Ed001's Note - it happens get over it. It wasn't like we didn't try to sign a defender.}

I’ll be honest eds1 why am more pissed off than usual with yesterday draw.
1 I despise Fat Sam! and hate the fact he’s taken anything from that game.
2 they were there for the taking and we had multiple chances to kill the game off in the first half even though there wasn’t much space.
3 there was masses of space in the second half when WBA changed the tactics but for some reason we didn’t punish them.
4 klopp is asking for 5 subs yet barely uses 3
5 Am probably wrong on all points and I’ve been spoiled over the last few years watching our team.

Can accept the result Tris, got what we deserved which was to drop points. What I will not accept is such a poor performance by do many players. Too casual and laboured which ultimately cost us two points. Regardless of all the injuries and schedules etc etc last night was very poor. Not going to spout about what I believe Klopp should have done because that would just be embarrassing on my behalf but last night was again simply not good enough and was definitely avoidable.

28 Dec 2020 10:06:02
I don’t mind that we didn’t win as we didn’t deserve to. Yes they sat back but what do people expect? The onus is on us as one of the best teams in the league to break the opposition down and we didn’t do enough of it. Hope to see Phillips play soon he may not be the ideal Klopp ball player from the back but he seems a reasonable and solid old school defender. Adjust the midfield to offer them more protection as well while we are going through this. That said i would be open to signing a stop gap defender but have no idea who would be available. Ben White hasn’t impressed me enough to justify the likely 50m he would cost just for being English.

Ed01, I don't think all the negative posts are down to self entitlement. I'm certain if there had been 54,000 supporters leaving Anfield yesterday nearly everyone one of them would've been slagging off individuals, I know I would've been. When I sit on the Kop I'm surrounded by supporters who are slagging our players off even when we're winning, it's the nature of the supporter. Certain players have always copped it, across all generations.
Yesterdays 2nd half performance was shocking, from back to front. It's hard to think of anyone who was 6/ 10. Maybe Robertson with his first half showing. I singularly picked out Williams because he shouldn't be anywhere near this team. It's not his fault; he would struggle to get in the Albion back 4, nevermind ours. Championship, at the very best, is his level.
We move on to Newcastle. Unless we improve 100% we will come away with nothing.

28 Dec 2020 12:04:17
I think the negativity stems not from just this one result but the trend of results and performances against teams in the lower end of the league recently. 1-1 against Brighton, Fulham and now West Bromwich is worrying, especially the lack of intensity and creativity in attack. It feels a lot like Liverpool of old or when klopp first came in, perhaps complacency or mentality issue thinking we don't have to be on top form to win I'm not sure. But as you say we move on and hope for better next time still top so our destiny remains with us.

28 Dec 2020 12:30:54
We are top of the league, through to the next phase of the champions league as group winners, all this with half our squad being out at some stage. What more do people want. jeez.

28 Dec 2020 13:05:28
Look mate we won't get a trophy for beating wba will we? as long as klopp gets us over line we shouldn't be shouting. besides hasn't klopp proved himself already? we should believe 💯 in him. yes he is a human and will make mistakes along the way. but that's normal. I bet even paisley and shankley did some. everyone does it move on. we are Liverpool. and Jones. he is at the starting point of his career. everyone is having a go at him! I just can't see why people don't have a go at Bruno for example! he was at mistake for Leicesters first goal wasn't he? Jones loves our club. he wi give his everything every single time he is there on the pitch. he is just learning and that requires mistakes to be done. didn't trent do then at the beginning? again everyone does mistakes. more so players beginning their career. as long as we are winning we have absolutely zero need for complaining. I mean comeon! which team has var calls gone so agaisnt them? which team has had absolutely a shocker in injuries? but we are still top of the table! believe in klopp! believe in Liverpool! Ynwa boys.

We simply cannot overcome that many bad individual performances in such a game. It ain’t going to happen esp if Klopp is adding insult to injury with such poor game management and lack of tactical variation and proactive nous from the bench. We got what we deserved and that is one point and nothing more. All and sundry must do better cos like it or not, it is going to b a fig fight till the end to retain this title this season so everybody had better buckle up and that starts with Klopp.
