Massive week for us isn’t it. With the other games going on this weekend teams above us will drop points and we need to capitalise and beat villa tomorrow.

Then the big one against Madrid. Two goals we can get, just have to go for it now.

If we don’t play wijnaldum or Keita we have a chance at both. If we do play them, i highly doubt it. If that happens then it is on Klopp for constantly giving chances to people who don’t care about the club, i’m worried he’s turning into a bit of a nicey nice RE substitute teacher who all the kids take advantage of.

Key selections for the Madrid game, imo, are that Milner and Thiago play alongside Fabinho in midfield. I'd also leave Jota out and go with the regular front 3. Yes, I know that Jota brings more of a goal threat and Mane or Bobby currently, but at least we can depend on Mane and Bobby to put work in. Even if they're playing poorly, they won't stop chasing and closing down. That can't be said for Jota.

We have to start the game by getting Madrid's faces, put pressure on Kroos and Modric and not allow them to settle. If we don't do that the game we'll be picked off. So that means taking guys who we can depend on to work to stop Real from getting a foothold in the game. We can bring on Jota if we need him.

In terms of the impact on the Villa selection, I think we have to leave Milner out so we have 100% from him on Wednesday. He is 35, after all. Jones can play instead. We should give Robbo a rest too, but with Tsimikas being out of favour I don't see it. Could rest Mane or Salah, most likely Mane if we do.

Mane is my favourite player but for me he has to drop out and be rested for a few weeks. Taking out one out of form player for another out of form player in Bobby though doesn’t really solve the problem. Wed will be a massive night for Trent because you can guarantee Real will target him again.

Also i bet fabinho is dropping to the CB in that madrid game. He will play kabak and fab. Jones thiago and milner. Jota firmino and salah.
Which i think will be the right thing to do. Gini on at 60 to score the required brace.
And origi on at 80 for trent to reclaim himself.

Flash I agree. Why would Klopp put Fab back at centre half. Sadly after he did it in the 2nd half of the Real game midweek I don’t think we can rule anything out. I really hope Fab stays in midfield though.

I’d drop Mane for the game and go Fabinho, Thiago and Milner in midfield, with Milner being assigned to putting some early “reducers” on Kroos and Modric. And only change him as soon as he gets a yellow for Gini. Playing all four attackers will give Madrid the game as we need to be effective in midfield to win.

The main thing is that Keita does not get on that pitch as he was hopeless.

It’s quite possible that Madrid will play on the counter.
We don’t have to go gung-ho, at least not for the first hour.
Origi has to get at least 30 minutes for me, get amongst them and go aerial and direct if necessary.
But if we concede first, it becomes hugely difficult.
I don’t fancy the Liverpool central defence though unfortunately.

Unfortunately Juicer Origi is yet another squad player who cannot be relied upon, who in all but one half of football this season has spent every single game walking around the pitch aimlessly. The divide between who can be trusted and who cannot is so clear yet we have so many players who are lingering around like a bad smell.
