Just a bunch of random thoughts

1) last season Rio claimed Liverpool were using our injuries as excused and that man utd had firmly caught up with us and will overtake us. Once again, prove that pundits know nothing and are paid for providing unqualified opinions.

2) I'm fearing ole is going to get the sack.

3) having fans back in stadium is such as massive difference. I was watching mane's 100 goals and realise I remember every single one until the point when the goals were scored in empty stadiums - didn't recall a single one of them.

{Ed0666's Note -

1. IMO The best pundits are Graeme Souness & Kyle Martino by a country mile. Worst: Dixon, Owen, Crouch, Sherwood, Merson in no particular order.

2. The Liverpool fans fairytale seems to be over

3. I have to confess some Liverpool goals I’ve forgotten. Like I was watching a compilation of Kuyts goals I’d forgotten a lot of them.

Agree1 Disagree0

point #1 you could apply that to loads of Liverpool fans on multiple forums including on here. Before the season started loads of fans were drooling over Man United's depth. Fans typically don't bother with things like team chemistry, team culture etc etc

Regards In pundits, in general I don't mind what they say. Although I do wish there was a better cross-section of pundits. Like ben Foster is hilarious on his own channel, it'd be nice to see him get a TV spot. And perhaps getting ex-pros from other clubs too. Surely it's not just the 'big clubs' who have players who can handle a mic.

I like Neville and Jamie as a combo the most.

Youtube has lots of clips that show every goal from 'x' season, and they are such a good watch. Looking back when we had Torres and mascherano and just thinking how did we not win the league with that era!

There is one goal that I will never forget despite the fact that it was scored in an empty stadium! I am pretty sure none of us will forget it either. It was an insane moment.

Pundits, people who are paid to make astute and correct observations about football on TV, are probably some of the most useless, unaccountable and unjustly paid employees on the planet. They make wild, reactionary and almost universally incorrect claims on a weekly basis and when they are proven wrong nobody ever brings it up or calls them out. The viewers and their employers then completely forget about it and let them crack on with another round of awful takes and predictions, often in direct conflict with the last round of predictions they made. Wasn’t it only a few weeks ago that Neville was saying there was something wrong at Liverpool because we drew with Chelsea? Based on what? United have been rubbish in almost every game this season but in Nevilleland, they’re much more likely to win the league because they spent a lot of money in the summer and his best mate Ole is in charge. Liverpool have been consistently really good in every game this season, as was expected by anyone with a brain, and United have been consistently rubbish, which everyone should have expected by now given they pretty much may as well not have a manager. Yet in the summer, all the pundits predicted the reverse, using the same braindead logic that they apply to all of their opinions. Some of them have even done a total 180 on this already, such as Michael Owen, who is now claiming that Liverpool are now nailed on to win the title and United are nowhere near. Quite the shift in a matter of weeks, when all we’ve done is win a few games we were expected to win. It’s the same drivel week after week. I do not know what any of these pundits bring to the experience of watching football on TV, apart from Carragher and Neville when they break down tactics and positions on the screen. When they’re not being outlandishly wrong, they’re making banal statements that are so obvious they might as well be telling us that ‘water is wet’. I do not know what it is that they contribute other than misinforming the viewers and setting toxic and reactionary precedents for conversations in the footballing world. I’d rather we replaced them all with journalists, stat fanatics and football channel youtubers (sensible ones like Redmen and none of that AFTV nonsense), and occasionally allow really clever ex-pros like Cruyff, Hansen and the like who can actually contribute with knowledge that we don’t already know.

If pundits bother you that much then I'd recommend you try what I do. I turn the game, using today's as an example, on at 4:29. Turn it off at halftime, go get a cup of tea, sandwich etc. Turn it back on 15 minutes later and turn it off when the game is over. Don't need to be listening to drivel about what I've just watched.

I agree with aw and disagree with faith
Fans can be ill informed, uninformed m, biased, whatever
We are free to have our opinions and no one pays us for it
At worst we are ignorant fools just following the club we love passionately

Pundits are paid to give expert opinions. The least I would expect is an informed and intelligent opinion. They contributed to much of football illiteracy.

I miss the Alan Hansen standard of punditry, where there is real analysis and not just popular talking points. I don’t listen to any of them just that they pop up on my feeds and it’s annoying me.

What gets me though is when people use specious generalisations to support their mis / uninformed opinions, preconceptions and prejudices and the gullible accept it as fact (I read it on Wikipedia, Twitter, etc, etc. )

Other than that though I’m all for free speech 😉.

My favourite pundit is Alex Scott. But that’s mainly because I fancy the knickers off of her.

Ed666, I love Martino as a pundit as well. You can also add Eddie Howe to that list of good pundits too cos I think he is pretty good.

OP, Utd are a shambles and have been a shambles since Jose was there. The reason Ole got the job is due to his buddies like Rio who were pressuring the club to give it to him and them giving him cover and excuses in the media for his blatant incompetence. I really hope they keep him cos with Old at the wheel, I can sleep easy.

{Ed0666's Note - as my brother law says mate you can polish a turd. Rio will be on his back soon. I can’t stomach Howe he does talk sense but he’s just so boring he’s hard to watch. Enjoy the game fella

Ed talking about Crouch did you see any of that god awful Euros show he did alongside Jamala something? Easily the worst and cringiest thing I’ve ever seen on television! The amount of awkward silences was almost unbearable. But the whole lad banter shtick was just embarrassing.

{Ed0666's Note - I don’t watch anything apart from porn mate sorry.
