I get annoyed an surprised seeing were going to smash man united, easy work and all that, this is bullshxt we all know old trafford is not a happy hunting ground for us even when we are on top form similar too goodison as history is proven .
Local rivalries form goes out the window and its about who is cool and calculated whilst exacuting the gameplan on the day, united will have a full crowd baying for scouse blood. This is a winnable game but we have to be proffesional and humble at the same time .

Last weekend we couldn’t play at 12:30 ….
If you want to look close enough you can find stuff that makes every team hard to beat. If we tournament up with our games heads on we will beat them because they aren’t as good as us and haven’t been for the last four or five years.

It’s also worth remembering that the way United often set up particularly under ole doesn’t suit us.
United will look to hit us on the break and lob it over the high line for their quick players to run on to.
As athletico showed that’s still a major weakness for us.

It’s been like that on here for the last 5 years. Every time we are about the play them most posters say we will smash them but it never happens. I like the optimism but the reality is normally far different. We have 3 wins in 12 against them in what is our most important fixture.
Normally we are timid and shot shy at their place but last year was different so hopefully we will play to our potential and beat them.

Nah sod been professional, we're not meant to be 'professional' we're fans and that's as far as it goes. We're the better team and it'll show on the day (hopefully) Don't get annoyed at people for being optamistic. So because you aren't confident the rest of us shouldn't be? Leave it out.

We just need to play the game and not get caught up in the hype before the game. Each time we have done that, we have struggled cos we play the hype and the occasion instead of just playing the game. This has led to Klopp overthinking things, showing them more respect than required and then stubbing out toe in the end even tho, we have the better team.
It’s a huge rivalry and girl goes out the window BUT it is still just a game that needs to be taken seriously and be fully prepared for. No more and No less. Last season was diff cos there were no fans, no pregame hype and we just went there, played them off the pitch and battered them. Also last season was the only time they played attacking footie against us. Normally, they park the bus to stifle us so I expect that tmrw.

Always good to see different levels of opinions on here. You’ll get over optimistic and pessimistic fans and everyone in between but none will actually effect the outcome of the game. Personally for me I’d like to think we’re going in confident of a win but I always think if we go in over confident then we are setting ourselves up for a fall. I remember fans saying we would smash Brentford and we came away from that one with our tails between our legs praising them and taking the frustrations out on any supporter who dared to be negative about that performance.
That’s the beauty of this site. Lots of different views and all just as important as the next.

JK23, I was concerned about the Brentford game even before we played them and I was never comfortable watching that game at any point and even before they equalised, I knew they would get chances near the end to do so and they did cos if the way we were playing and missing chances.
I was more frustrated with the way we played and missed clear chances to kill the game than anything Brentford did, who I thought were outstanding. Proof? They did the very same thing to Chelsea and could have put 3/ 4 past them.

No salah i am confident but ain't shouting it from the rooftops and its everyones right to support how they want, i am not telling people how to be a fan mate. My thing is we ain't got a great record there with fans especially, they also have a squad that on there day if it clicks can beat anyone on the day, so respect has to be given to the opponent then smash them .

Oli I agree. There’s not many teams that expose our weakness’s and I though Brentford did on numerous occasions throughout the game. Last season when we went on that dismal run teams that beat us literally had one moment of decent play / luck or madness and we paid the price. However Brentford actually exposed us and for that hats off to them.

I don’t think there’s any mileage being arrogant going into these games, as that comes back to bite us on the arse, there’s plenty of reason to feel optimistic, we beat a far better organised team in Atletico Madrid in midweek, we are in good goal scoring form and we’re playing well.
I feel confident of us getting a result tomorrow, and I do think we’re capable of beating them soundly. Like we did last season, with our 5th and 6th choice centre backs playing and a manc ref and a manc VR.
