Desperately sad news. One of my biggest heroes as a kid. Loved him as a player, and was filled with admiration at the way he fought against that dreadful sickness.
Was proud to be at Highbury in 91 for his testimonial.
At least he is at peace now.

Him and Jimmy Case were two of my idols. One of the most underrated and gifted players in my time as a Liverpool supporter, he could open a tin of peaches with that left foot.
