Nah, Matip's experience and composure on the ball tips the balance in his favour for me.
I don't think we should change our line up because of theirs. I mean, Trent is going to play up against Sid Vicious Jnr and defending isn't his biggest strength. Let them worry about stopping Trent. His delivery is better than Vini's anyway.
That said, I've a feeling that Konate will start.

I think Matip seems to concentrate better in the bigger games. I'd have no problem with Konate starting- he is some athlete- but I'm leaning towards Matip's experience.
If Konate does start, I hope he stops with the leaning on and pushing in the penalty area. Saying that, Matip took a chance in the derby by doing the same.
I'd be happy with either though.

It's a tough 1 that. konate has the pace matip doesn't but could be found wanting at times. matip is solid though. Trent has a job to do tomorrow and I reckon he'll do it very well. Bring it home boys.

He’s started all or most of the CL games, so I think he’ll do so in Paris too.
Hopefully there’s a nice 50/ 50 with Vinicius and he puts him up into row Z 😀.

I think Matip is a more composed defender than Konate, at the minute anyway but you have to consider the threat Madrid pose especially Vini Junior so Konate gets my vote. I just hope he doesn't do anything daft. A few times lately he has had wee shoves on players in the box which with another ref might have been seen differently.

Tricky 1, konate extra pace on that side would be big benefit but matip loads of big game experience, was he man of match against spurs in 19? I think he will go with matip, konate mistake against wolves maybe come into the decision.

Definitely a tough one. A week back I was firmly set on matip with his experience but Konates pace and set piece threat makes me reconsider.

I think ultimately I agree with you rigsby and Irish, I think I trust matip more in this type of game. I’m sure JK will get it right and knows best either way.

Amazingly both Konate and Matip have started 7 games each in this seasons CL and Matip has 2 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 league games.

I think it’s one of those ones that it doesn’t matter who Klopp goes with either guy will give us a performance and 100% to the cause.

I'd go with Konaté, too. Yes, he has a mistake in him now and then, but he's physically more imposing than Matip and has a clear advantage in speed. Pop a ball just behind Matip and it's easy to pass him by, because his reaction times are slow and he can't catch up. I also feel better with Konaté on Vinicius's side, because he will send him flying into the stands. And Vinicius knows it.

Matip has been first choice all season. He is dependable, offers something different with his dribbling out the back, good for a goal and importantly, imo, has been reliable this season. I think he deserves the chance to start the CL final. Konate will have time off the bench and his time will come.

As much as I would prefer Matip, it is only based on experience cos Benz may try to outfox him due to his lack of experience. In reality, there are pros and cons of picking either player. Just hope whoever is picked will give their absolute best.
