20 wins, 3 losses 4 draws or 3 draws 4 losses to win the league. 90/ 89 points.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

07 Nov 2016 22:20:22
I wish it was that simple tho.

07 Nov 2016 22:54:11
I think 89/ 90 looks about right it's a tough ask but fingers crossed.

08 Nov 2016 00:06:15
Last time we won the league 89/ 90 🤓.

08 Nov 2016 00:18:48
the way teams are dropping points, it could only take 75. point is, it will take whatever it takes!

08 Nov 2016 01:19:34
I can't think that far and neither should anyone, really.

08 Nov 2016 02:23:48
Who'd still take top 4 if offered? I'd be tempted by top 3 qualifying places for CL, but would probably roll the dice it's been such a long wait.

08 Nov 2016 03:41:33
Southampton next that's the only game we should be focused on right now . One step at a time . Enjoy where we are but don't get carried away . Let's keep chipping away performing as we are and keep getting points on the board .

08 Nov 2016 07:52:06
Also, your sums don't quite add up.

If 4 draws gives 90 points, and 3 draws gives 89 points, that leaves 86 points from wins, which isn't divisible by 3.

Also, if we had 7 draws/ losses (in whatever split) that implies 31 wins, hence a minimum of 93 points.

How's about we just worry about the next game against Southampton, as previous seasons are no guide to this one with 2 points separating the top 4. Even United and Everton are not out of it yet, so we *could* fall as low as 7th (extremely unlikely though! ) .

As an aside, this does blow negativeredwaiter's expectation of us finishing 8-15th out of the water!

08 Nov 2016 08:00:07
Long way yet, we're in good form but I'm sure we'll have our bad/ unlucky results every now and again and Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal all top sides. I can also see we aren't invincible either.

Take it game by game and enjoy how well we're playing rather than starting to predict how many points we need.

08 Nov 2016 08:08:11
He's taking into account were already on 26 point zed, you've had a bit of a nightmare there mate.

08 Nov 2016 10:47:53
*face palm*

Doh!

lol.

08 Nov 2016 12:31:41
I think we're better than the 2013/ 2014 team that got 26 wins, scored 101 goals and ended up with 84 points. We're simply more of a team, more cohesive, more tactically consistent and certainly deeper on the bench. And while we may score a 100+ goals again, we have a better defense and I don't see us letting in 50 goals, and that makes a difference in the close games against tough opponents. And let's not forget the fear factor we've instilled in all the teams. We have 10 players who've scored the 30 goals so far. The danger can come from a variety of players at any moment. Yes, one game at a time. But it's still okay to say "damn, we're damned good this year".

08 Nov 2016 19:09:49
Nice one Zed 😎.

07 Nov 2016 20:57:11
Anyone else enjoy Emre can pulling out the classic vincenzo montella aeroplane celebration yesterday.

08 Nov 2016 03:52:05
Loved it mate .

07 Nov 2016 18:24:53
Hi Ed great I love the input you guys put into the site . Just wondering if you had done a match report from game yesterday if so where can I find it. cheers in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - no mate, unfortunately I had been dragged out on the day from hell (which had been booked on the strict understanding it was during the international break only for the date to be changed), so I wasn't able to watch the game. The net here is not good enough to stream the game to watch now.}

07 Nov 2016 19:27:47
Ha can't beat the other half for spoiling the perfect Sunday in fairness I did not get to watch the game Untill 7 pm . Worth the wait though another great game to watch again .

07 Nov 2016 19:40:09
So now everytime we play Watford you need to organise a day from hell for yourself?

07 Nov 2016 17:45:32
According to john motson chelsea was a better display than lfc vs forrest in 88. And believes if it was a love game (which it was on bt sport) people would be talking about it for weeks. Discuss.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - difference is we were playing the second best side in England, pretty much, at that time, Chelsea were playing an Everton side missing their best player, who is their driving force from midfield and are still recovering from the Martinez debacle. Motson is just being an arse these days, like all these people do, to make himself seem relevant. That is all they ever do now, they try and stir up controversy. It is sad that honesty has died long ago.}

07 Nov 2016 18:00:37
I feel the same btw ed and for me it was and excellent display from pedro, hazard and costa, whereas in 88 the whole team were just on it. He also thinks we should not look anywhere else for this years champions. We shall see motey, we shall see.

07 Nov 2016 21:53:43
Motty may have been a good commentator, but I never thought he was particularly good at analysing teams.

07 Nov 2016 23:31:33
Ron I've always thought he was a shocking commentator. Used to have to mute match of the day after it took him about 10 minutes to notice Henry scored a backheel!

07 Nov 2016 23:33:41
Hazard against Everton reminded me of messi.
He was that good.
It just shows that when you have a
manager that believes in you and plays to your strengths you look a different player.
Compare Hazard at the wweekend to any performance he made last year under mourinio. You wouldn't believe it was the same player.

07 Nov 2016 23:03:27
That being Idrissa Gueye ed1? Didn't know you rated him o highly!

{Ed001's Note - yes and he has been their best player as he was for Villa last season.}

08 Nov 2016 01:21:45
Don't care for Motson nor what other teams nor their players do. This is an LFC blog is it not?

08 Nov 2016 03:57:40
Lighten up.

08 Nov 2016 07:56:57
its actually about 88 lfc and how good they were amd how redicilous it is to compare them to this chelsea team. this is a banter site after all.

07 Nov 2016 17:35:41
I think it is Sturridge that will be the key to LFC's success in Mane's absence. While Origi and Ojo may be brought in to play bit parts in games, I think Klopp wil rejig the midfield to fit Sturridge in. And based on what I saw against Watford, he's lost a lot of speed and lateral mobility (due to the injuries) and should be starting up front as the No.9 with Firmino moved a step behind him. I don't think he can play out on the wing anymore, as effectively as he used to. The ideal siuation is for him to stay and move around the box and fire those shots in, as he does, and pray that they start going in once more.

It's been just a year of watching Klopp and his management style, but he doesn't strike me as the type who'll go out and get anyone to replace Mane. He'll simply stick to the midfield and strikers he has at his disposal and move them around and fit the pieces in to the new puzzle. If he is active in the transfer window, then he'll probably just get young talent with future potential (I don't expect him to get in a CB, either) .

Believable6 Unbelievable4

07 Nov 2016 19:31:08
Not for me he just isn't fluid enough I could see klopp trying him out wide directly where mane is now and finding that isn't ideal and then switching to origi through the middle with coutinho firmino either side but we shall see!

08 Nov 2016 00:39:08
So you think klopp will put firmino in midfield? No chance. Hendo can wijnaldum lallana will be the midfield 3 with one to come on off the bench. Sturridge is only good as a central striker but for me firmino is better. Origi played great in Mane's position against spurs. Moving firmino out wide is the only way to accommodate sturridge but we would then lack pace out wide. Every game sturridge has started we looked crap. Against Watford was probably sturridges best display so far. For me Origi will take Mane's place when he goes to ACON and sturridge will remain on the bench. I wouldn't mind us splashing the cash in January on another winger of Mane's quality will only give us more options off the bench and a stronger squad depth. If firmino gets injured and sturridge has to play 90 mins every week with Origi playing rw then I think it makes sense to buy another winger.

08 Nov 2016 08:34:06
Mane is a very direct player and takes his man by sheer pace Not sure how could you play Firmino in his position. Sturridge out wide is even more dreadful. Origi could do a job there with his pace and power.
If you ever wish to play Sturridge it has to be centrally to get the maximum benifit from him, Else he should be on the bench.

07 Nov 2016 16:27:48
Ed01 if you free for a minute, How do you rate Barnes? Any special memories mate. Best technical player ever?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Digger was a legend of a player. Pure genius. He skipped past players for fun, had a sudden turn of acceleration that took him past whoever was there. In terms of ability, he is the best I have seen in the flesh ever. The things I most remember though, to be perfectly honest, was his tendency to throw himself to the floor and need to be taken off for treatment for what seemed like 20 minutes a time a few times a game, depriving us of his genius for long stretches of a game. Secondly was the disgusting abuse he took from the opposition fans, it was sickening. Utterly sickening.}

07 Nov 2016 17:46:04
Was he the first black player at the club? I have heard he was very influential in removing racism from English game back those days? Was he one footed mate?

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - no, far from it. He was just a big star and it was in a dark time for English footie.}

07 Nov 2016 17:51:31
Fantastic player and still loves the club, only wish he could have made it in management.

07 Nov 2016 17:54:23
Ed01 when you say sickening abuse do you mean racial. I would like to think things have greatly improved in this country regarding abuse at grounds. Some leagues in other countries though as in Russia and so on are really bad from what I have heard. Disgusting tbh I know fans will always give abuse to the opposite team, but bringing race into it has no place in our so called modern world.

{Ed001's Note - yes racial. Bananas, monkey chants and many more things. It was especially bad when we faced Everton, sadly. They like to call themselves the people's club, but they let down people in those days. They were vile.}

07 Nov 2016 18:13:36
Absolutely the best player to pull on the liverpool shirt in my opinion, but there are many I never got to see and I was young when he was in his prime. If he were a player today in his prime he would be top 5 in the world.

07 Nov 2016 18:52:18
Summed Digger up perfectly ED. During the 87-88 season he was a class apart from anything else in the league. Love watching the solo goal v QPR and the way he won it from Kevin Brock (I think) before slaloming past two defenders and slotting it under Seaman. I don't think I have Sen a player since with as much grace on the ball.

07 Nov 2016 19:17:00
Ahead of his time tactically too. He wanted LFC to play a short passing, dominating possession game.
Great player, great inspiration.

07 Nov 2016 19:35:26
Thanks everyone for your share of memory.

07 Nov 2016 20:30:07
You guys should have seen Kevin Keegan play. Not as technically gifted as Barnes, but still very fast, lots of heart, determination and put lots of effort in.

07 Nov 2016 21:14:21
Ra

Yes He was called Daglish before Daglish.

07 Nov 2016 23:49:42
Or Dalglish.

Best player ever for Lfc.
Signed from Celtic for 440,000 quid.
then a record between 2 British clubs.
He replced Keegan @no7 who was sold to Hamburg For 500,000 quid.

Bob Paisley done a great bit of business.
Given the service Dalglish as a player manager and director.
it was money well spent

I can't think of any player from any club who has done as good.

08 Nov 2016 07:13:23
It would take and incredibly special player to ever top Kenny D as the best Liverpool player ever IMO.

08 Nov 2016 16:44:23
I don't think any player could overtake Kenny in terms of his contriobution to ther club and the city. I already knew he was an outstanding player and manager but I was unaware of the mental fatigue he went through in the wake of Hillsborough and his perserverance, not only in attending multiple funerals for those lost, but in his endless support for justice for the 96. I was unaware of the scope of his contribution before reading these pages but, in light of what I've read from Ed's and others posters, I don't think anybody could do more than him. He will live in immortality at our club forever.

{Ed002's Note - He lost his job because of Suarez and it is the retromingent runt that has the support of most on these pages.}

08 Nov 2016 19:30:01
Chin - have some respect for previous players and their names. His name was Keegan and it's still Keegan. Try your feeble infantile attempts at humour on the mirror.

09 Nov 2016 14:22:29
Fenway made Kenny fly to America to sack him.
Granted he could have handled The Suarez debacle better but the manner of the sacking really sucked.
In his only season he won more silverware than any manager since. Yes the league position should have been better but the team hit every post, crossbar and goal keeper that season.

I remember Fergie at Utd really stirred the balls out of the Suarez situation to get at Kenny that shows me how worried he was over Kenny being back.

Dalglish to his credit never complained about his treatment where others would have sold exclusives to the press.
His actions speak volumes for him.

07 Nov 2016 17:14:44
Hey guys, long time reader but first time poster here. Love the work the eds do and the craic everyone has so thanks very much!
I've been reading today about Steven Gerrard apparently on the brink of retiring and wondered if he might be coming home to anfield, obvs couldn't get into the first team but his experience and passion could be great for us in the dressing room not to mention the impact he can have on our younger players.
Anyone heard anything or any thoughts on this?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - I think he would be a major distraction and Liverpool should stick well clear of him. The club is settled and doing well. Most clubs don't like having grown men hanging around the dressing room and the showers but perhaps that won't bother Liverpool. If he were to register to play for the club there would be immediate charges brought against him by the FA. If Gerrard wishes to go in to coaching or management it would make sense for him to find his feet elsewhere - I don't know if Rodgers or Benitez would give their support to him or not.}

07 Nov 2016 17:43:58
Don't change wats not broken. Loved Gerrard as a player but no thanks.

{Ed001's Note - please do not bring him back. He is not what we need. We need the best coaches not the best former players. It is no coincidence that we look much better without him if you ask me.}

07 Nov 2016 17:47:12
No thanks.

07 Nov 2016 18:11:58
Yeah guess you guys are right, things going very well atm no need to disturb the status quo. I do hope he flourishes as a coach tho and does well for himself.

07 Nov 2016 18:15:40
It's a completely new system with different players and different management style. Why bring back someone who's a constant reminder of the past, when the team is focused on the present and the future? Experience is experience and valuable, true. But you know what they say about somebody's experience? It's like his/ her toothbrush. Nobody else wants to use it. Let the current team/ players build it's own experience.

Plus, I think it would unsettle the dressing room and the power politics, that go on in every team, considerably. Why would Henderson and Leiva sit quietly and watch, as a man from the past came back and took back a share of team leadership?

Lastly, Jurgen Klopp is a smart, wise, sly fox. He may tell the Press what they want to hear in terms of "Stevie is a fantastic person and he'll always have a place back here", but I doubt very much that he would let Gerrard back in within a 100 yards of the team he has re-created.

07 Nov 2016 18:43:12
Ed002 can I ask what charges the FA would be charging him with if he did?

Personally I totally agree that he is a bad influence if brought back to the club in any such manner apart from being a club ambassador.

{Ed002's Note - It has been done to death and see no reason to open it up again.}

07 Nov 2016 18:51:29
Give him Owens job get that manc out our club.

07 Nov 2016 21:31:59
No way should Klopp have Gerrard anywhere near the wonderful team he's building.
We've moved onwards and upwards, with a great team spirit.

Gerrard could probably still get playing time in China if he wants to.

07 Nov 2016 23:58:57
I think He'll be back and I would welcome it.

He's Liverpool through and through.

Why not give him a chance?

Look at Pep at Barca.

If it doesn't work out then let him make his way through the leagues.

But if it did work like Pep then the club is the winner.

08 Nov 2016 01:26:52
Dermot, Pep to my knowledge, didn't do all the awful things SG did to the club neither did he put the club in the awful position its in now, per Ed02. He's a has been and should stay exactly where he is as in, very far away from the club as he will put the D in Distraction and we don't want any of that here now especially, with the great dynamic and chemistry within the club right now.

09 Nov 2016 14:26:38
Tks for that Hamilton red.

09 Nov 2016 16:18:08
Sorry my full reply to Hamilton Red was not listed.

07 Nov 2016 18:46:05
Well in all honesty mate, Klop has made me a believer in the possibility.

07 Nov 2016 15:44:07
Here's a thought. This is a football rumour site yet here I am not wanting any transfers in January. The squad is probably too large presently by a few and we need to allow youngsters access to the first time. The only possible improvement to the first team would be a CB but which top centre back would be available that would walk straight into the team?

Any new blood may just cause selection headaches unless there are injuries but for the first time for a long long time I think we have replacements to come in if needed.

I'm whispering it right now but I believe we have the first team and squad to win the title as it is right now.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

07 Nov 2016 18:00:25
Dejan and Joel are good enough for me. Back up in Gomes, Lucas and Kalavan are good enough for me. The defense will get better as the games go and are looking more comfortable as they play together more. Have some confidence in what we have.

If anything I would be looking at a LB but I still think Moreno can come good.

07 Nov 2016 15:24:43
really enjoyed the atmosphere at anfield yesterday, sometimes you need the team to inspire the fans and sometimes you need the fans to inspire the team. I thought we had a great mix of that yesterday. there was a period in the second half where watford looked dangerous and where probing was about 5 or 10 minutes either side of there goal but the fans stuck with the team and then we finished it all off in style with our 6th! feels a bit different this time round and I'm not going to start spouting we going to win the league but I will say on current form then there no reason we can't. Oh a big up to the watford fans too. thought they were brilliant and had a good few sing offs with the anfield crowd with some good banter. despite getting tanked 6-1. lol.

Cheers.

Kamil Grabara is called for youth (u18) national team of Poland. May someone with more knowalage for the lad give some info what his position is and how he does for the young LFC team.

I'm fairly sure he's a keeper, but that's all I know.

07 Nov 2016 13:45:46
He's a goalkeeper and I believe he's made several appearances for the under-23s this season and has acquitted himself well.

Gotta love Google ^^^^.

07 Nov 2016 16:56:15
He's actually been fantastic for the u23s although he is rotated with khellerher. He's been so good I've been tempted to ask here which I am now eds is grabara the one we were linked with last year the supposed wonderkid? I remember lots of links at the time but I'm wondering if this is the guy. He's been fantastic.

07 Nov 2016 17:02:07
I love a goalkeeper with 'Grab' in his name. Likely to become a cult hero, just like 'Grob' did all those years ago.

Also, constant punching makes me nervous, so the fact GRABara is more likely to catch the ball is a relief.

:)

07 Nov 2016 20:17:46
Ive been watching as much of the U23s as I can and I think he looks very promising. Tall, spreads himself well in 1-1 situations, good shot stopper and looks reasonably confident with crosses. I haven't seen enough to form an opinion about his distribution. He does seem a bit quiet but that could be because he is still finding his feet. But growing in confidence and i'm not surprised he's been called up. Hopefully we keep hold of him.

07 Nov 2016 12:59:14
Hi fellow reds. I haven't been on for a while but I would just like to say how well we're doing. Much better than I expected. I have been proven wrong on so many things. I said in the summer that Lallana should be sold. how much has that guy stepped it up this year? I said that Hendo was starting to fail. now the man is running round with a new sense of life. I said putting Milner in at LB was suicide. its like he's played there for years. There's a belief, there's confidence and there's not just a will to win but an urgency for us to win, playing with almost arrogance again. It's good to see. Unfortunately my spine has took a turn for the worse so I don't know if I'll be able to actually get to a game in person this season but seeing us back in top four or even challenging for the title again would more than make up for it. Keep up the positivity guys, it's good to read. I've enjoyed reading most of your posts, Ron, MKSCOUSER etc. I'm currently planning what negativity to say in the summer because if this is how I get proven wrong I hope it happens more often and I'm starting to enjoy the taste of humble pie lol. YNWA.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

07 Nov 2016 13:29:36
Your negativity cannot jinx or help a team with hunger, galvanised by a manager who know what he is doing. You are just one fan in millions across the world. Just enjoy the ride (hopefully) to the unbelievable. Drop the negativity and become a believer! YNWA.

That was me who disagree with the get well message my apologies stupid phone. get well soon.

07 Nov 2016 10:57:31
Its normal that our defense and goalkeeper are under pressure because we are always attacking with 5-6 players and anytime there is a counterattack we feel the pressure at the back. This is the main reason why we are conceding in every game. Barcelona team have the same problem, they have conceded in their 8 matches out of 12 this season.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

07 Nov 2016 11:04:54
Added with some individual schoolboy blunder from our CB's. However I would be gutted to concede against teams who hardly have someone upfront. That's not accepted. I guess we need a solid partner for Matip and that is not Lovren.

07 Nov 2016 14:15:37
I agree there's a certain logic that by committing so many into the box we're vulnerable to the counterattack, so long as when we want to shut down games we can.

I still hope our Defence can come good as Clyne, Matip and Milner are looking excellent, and hopefully Lovren and Karius can settle to perform at their best on a more regular basis, but I still think perhaps someone like Sule to replace Sakho wouldn't be a bad idea. While the guy is an absolute legend, Lucas is not the answer for me and Klavan is not the long term solution either so we need competition for Lovren and Matip.

I know Gomez is a potential answer but I would like to see Gomez given his shot at RB until he's matured a bit - he's a more natural right sided player and proved he can play fullback before, while we don't have an obvious Clyne understudy. then over time he can step into CB.

08 Nov 2016 01:32:55
The problem is that at a certain point, we should just step on the ball, calm it down and control the tempo of the game after going say, 3 nil up. We seem to play a whole 90 like we are drawing even tho, we are up by four. This is where Chelsea is better and why they keep clean sheets. This is where we need to improve because we won't score six every game. Our defence was solid all game until we started looking ragged and conceding chance and then the goal. Now many will focus on the non clean sheet whereas globally, we were excellent in defence all game.

07 Nov 2016 10:55:29
Careful lads, we might be losing our Jurgen soon! Many people voted for him in the recent Bulgarian presidential elections ;>.

Seems like the Kopflose Hühner tactic is paying off 😎.

07 Nov 2016 16:58:39
Careful ron.

He's rejected Bayern before so why would hthey ask for him again? Also, he's not interested in big money clubs and buying success so I wouldn't hold my breathe if I were any of those teams.

07 Nov 2016 10:34:52
Eds, not sure if this has been asked before but if Coutinho were to leave what would you think of Mahrez as an option?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - depends on if he wants to leave Leicester then or not.}

07 Nov 2016 10:48:23
Of course. It depends also if Coutinho leaves but he would strike me as a perfect player to play on the left for us. Might cost a bit though!

07 Nov 2016 10:50:29
I was about mention his name in the thread below. He is the closest to Coutinho in terms of playing style. A hard worker to begin with. He has terrific pace and trickery. Brilliant first touch and he has goals in him. We could certainly lure him from Leicester at a very reasonable price and he would excel in Klopps high pressing system. He is solid tracking back as well.
Mahrez is a risk free name and would be a brilliant adition on the left / right side instead of pulisic.

07 Nov 2016 10:55:06
Exactly Sweet, he seems tailor made for a place in our front 3. Goals, assists, work rate. He does like to come in from the right onto his left foot though.

07 Nov 2016 10:57:49
Though he's no doubt be a good addition. I don't see the point in forking out all that money for him (it'd no doubt be a lot) when we have youngsters ready to step up. Ojo for me.

07 Nov 2016 11:00:53
TBH I would shell £30 for Mahrez. He is like Hazard you just have to bring him down once he is off. He could dribble half of the opposition teams.

07 Nov 2016 11:19:28
I would prefer for Ojo to step in also 16 I just wouldn't be confident he could do it week in week out straight away. Mahrez has proved his quality and I think will be leaving Leicester in the summer.

07 Nov 2016 12:57:19
Our own ejaria is Barcelona class . mark my words! Oh and temporarily gini wijnaldum can replace coutinho.

07 Nov 2016 12:58:33
Honestly Chin, your hyperbole of other team's players knows no bounds 😂.

07 Nov 2016 13:52:07
Ron

Not a lot mate. But yeah there are some excellent players in the league you would Iove to watch them.
Mahrez is definitely one. He is called Leicester City's Coutinho.

07 Nov 2016 15:02:15
Yes he's a great player but we don't need him Harry. He's good for Leicester would he be good for us? I'm much rather wait for Ojo to be for and give him his chance.

07 Nov 2016 15:09:32
Wijnaldum can replace coutinho? I already have enough nightmares.

07 Nov 2016 19:25:02
Anyway Chin, I agree I would be prepared to shell out 30 quid for Mahrez, heck I'll pay half of it myself for the club.

08 Nov 2016 07:55:52
I'll chip in too, that's only a tenner each.

07 Nov 2016 10:06:19
Any chance of match review player wise?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

07 Nov 2016 08:55:47
I have to say i loved the last goal we scored, sturridge really wanted to score and he made that goal albeit from his deflected shot.

But i have to mention i was very pleased with karius, he looked more himself during this game and was unlucky for the goal against him which he could do nothing about. Hope he continues to grow in confidence and get better as we go on.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

07 Nov 2016 09:54:51
Yeah that was a real test yesterday for Karius, he did really well. Sturridge I was a bit gutted for, he deserved atleast one goal, but still, exciting to see his form improving.

07 Nov 2016 09:55:21
Pretty sure the young 20 year old, newly arrives, first season (first 10ganes) goal keeper will keep improving.

07 Nov 2016 10:10:30
If sturridge played like that every game he would be straight in the team, he is capable but he doesn't play like that every time. Don't understand why but he can only blame himself.

07 Nov 2016 10:50:23
I heard the guys in Anfield were singing "if Suarez were still around, he would be on the bench"
This goes to show how much of a team we have become. I am not hearing any SAS or MSN or BBC, we are just hearing about our high-press, highly entertaining, free goal scoring football.
Apologies to Sturridge but i think he needs to be more of a team player to get into this team. Origi is better suited than he is.

07 Nov 2016 10:51:26
Its normal that our defense and goalkeeper are under pressure because we are always attacking with 5-6 players and anytime there is a counterattack we feel the pressure at the back. This is the main reason why we are conceding in every game. Barcelona team have the same problem, they have conceded in their 8 matches out of 12 this season.

07 Nov 2016 14:31:24
Sturridge looked outstanding but even then I still think he plays a very different style to Firmino and doesn't run off the ball as effectively or press as hard when we're not in possession - I doubt he ever will and hats such a big part of Klopps system.

I still think he should be part of the big picture though (particularly in an attacking partnership with either a Origi or Firmino who can provide that movement around him) as he is just unstoppable on his day. That curled shot was incredible.

07 Nov 2016 17:27:13
Honestly that's the best time to play studge when we are a couple goals ahead and maybe taking our foot off the gas, studge will automatically bring a desire to score more goals when he comes on to the pitch in a stretched game where he knows he can exploit the defence.

08 Nov 2016 01:40:46
LFC with Suarez is nothing like the LFC we are watching today. This LFC under Klopp, is the best I've seen in twenty years, hands down. The fact that Studge can't get on the pitch is just one sign amongst many others, as the reasons why. We were great with SASAS (Suarez, Studge and Sterling) . Now? We are much more devastating with 5/ 6 players having the ability to get into double figures. And we are not even the finished article yet. Just breathtaking stuff, really.

07 Nov 2016 08:46:41
To me, our defensive issues could be a lot worse then people are making out.

Just been taking a look at our previous fixtures the apart from palace who got 2 past us and arsenal 3, it's been the odd daft 1 goal. But we've made it up by scoring more. City have conceded only 4 less goals this season then us and Arsenal only 3 less, it's not all that bad not when you consider how many we're scoring. Well I'm not complaining anyway, i'd be happy if it carried on like it has done the first 11 games for the rest of the season put it that way lol unbeaten in 9 games, 7 of which wins, I'll take that.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

07 Nov 2016 10:11:04
If we want to win the title, then we need to be way more solid. Making excuses by comparisons to your rivals will not make LFC a world class team, being better than them at everything will.
Our attack has no doubt been scintillating, but our defense needs to step up.

07 Nov 2016 10:24:50
If we win every game 7-6, the title is ours.

07 Nov 2016 10:12:08
Pundits love to go on about our defensive problems but I agree it's only silly errors it's not actually coach Mable half the time. We have actually let the least amount of chances on our goal in the league. We are doing great.

07 Nov 2016 10:34:52
Buzzer I do agree mate, the defense does need to step up a bit but it's not all that bad, it'd be worse if we wasn't scoring as many as we was and it was just 3-2, 2-1 results but it's not. We do need to sort our defense out but it's work in progress, think of yesterday, that goal was nobodys fault and we was tested multiple times. It's football, teams concede goals that's normal. We are conceding more then we should granted but the point is as mentioned earlier, it could be a lot worse. To me our defence has really improving as we go on, when you think of Burnley and Arsenal games compared to how we are now? everybody moans at 1 goal against us. If we won 2-1 every single game nobody would complain at the end of it.

You say if we want to win the title we need to be way more solid? ok so we keep scoring like we are doing game in game out and concede the odd daft goal we won't win the title? . come on man, it can keep the way its been for me no problem, end of the day we're top of the league we keep everythingg how it is and play like we have the first part of the season and the title is ours, conceding daft goals or not.

Summer no doubt we'll have an addition or two to improve things for us defensively but until then, we carry on like we have been, it'll be just fine.

07 Nov 2016 10:53:30
There will be an off day for the front guys and those time you rely on your defense to save the pride. It's almost certain we concede at least one home or away.
We need a world class CB,
What happens if Matip gets injured? There are teams who has scored plenty and did not win the title.

07 Nov 2016 11:23:17
Spot on Harry! W/ o sorting our defence will be difficult to win the league. they've been lots of team in this decade who I remember played some great attacking footy but couldn't win the league because of their defence including us last few seasons. title winning teams are built from back tho.

07 Nov 2016 14:33:10
I don't mind us conceding the occasional goal when we have such an attacking setup, but we should also be able to shut down games too if we need to and I'm not sure we can do that as effectively as other top sides.

07 Nov 2016 14:54:54
Ok Harry for once I can't argue with that lol.

07 Nov 2016 03:31:05
recently I praised james milner for his displays at left back, today I must praise adam lallana for his recent displays, against Watford he was brilliant, when he moves the ball quickly and simply he is devastating, bagging himself 2 assists and leaving the field to a well earned standing ovation, long may it continue.

Believable20 Unbelievable0

07 Nov 2016 06:05:23
Good call out Kingkenny lallana has been key all season. When he is not on the pitch we create far fewer chances.

He is always looking for the forward pass or the cross and raises the tempo with his quick passing.

07 Nov 2016 06:32:38
I have to say when rogers brought lallana I thought he was going to play him in midfield on the left of the diamond similar to how klopp is using him now (deeper role)
As I believed his energy would be an asset there.
I was surprised when rogers switched to a 433 and put lallana out wide.

07 Nov 2016 07:37:25
Yea boys lallana was really good today that cross to can he had his head up and picked him out beautifully. wonderful team football real joy to watch.

07 Nov 2016 09:31:19
Talking about Rodgers, he wasn't up to the job of managing a top team, but I will always be grateful to him for bringing in Milner, Firmino Lallana, Coutinho and Sturridge.

07 Nov 2016 10:25:26
Lallana has improved big time, what ever training he has gone through it also seems that he has added a yard or two of pace off the mark. Love watching a player who can use both feet and keep the flow of play going on the half turn. still don't understand how more top level pros cannot use both feet.

07 Nov 2016 10:56:43
23 Carra

The difference is not where they occupy the position, but the quick movement of the ball between the players and that starts from Hendo to Firmino.
We release the ball lightning quick. One reason Sturridge doesn't get games as he takes time on the ball.
Klopp wants to move the ball faster than light and that is the reason the front 4 are pretty much untouchable for any defense.

07 Nov 2016 13:18:55
Lallana also appears to have worked on his strength as well and doesn't get knocked about so much. All in all we look strong and quick and teams are struggling with that.

07 Nov 2016 14:35:13
Well said carra, he was the oil in the engine against watford. Also agree though he should always have been used a bit deeper from the beginning, not a winger IMO.

08 Nov 2016 01:46:04
I also think Lallana has injected a bit more pace to his game as unlike before, he was just unable to get away from his opposing markers. Now, he has and this enables him to be more effective and drift around the pitch which has led to more goals and assists. Keep it up, son.

07 Nov 2016 03:29:09
hey fellas, what a win!

really good wasn't it?

how good was the front three?
