Times saying this morning we want to pay Konates release clause in instalments. Leipzig want it up front or deals off. Just imagine after all the stunts the owners have pulled the last few years they fail to back Klopp again, surely that’ll be it for anyone still defending them. I hadn’t been a fan for years but the super league was the tipping point for me.

{Ed002's Note - This is not new news.}

Don't think its a case of not backing its just financial climate, could argue to solve this they looked at a super league thingy. not that's its right and agree they should back him just think this window is a difficult time for a revamp and is it a case of konate is the only target due to paying 30 mill upfront or can we get 3 players in with paying installments.

I have to agree on this one. After the season we’ve had and the handling of the centre back signing situation in both transfer windows that has potentially cost the club its champions league revenue, you’d think they’d have learnt their lesson. Just pay the money up front and recoup it from sales immediately after. We can’t be messing around this summer.

Are we surprised? Same crap every season.

13 May 2021 12:20:30
I assume this means that we’ve now spoken with Leipzig, Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Not yet as I understand it. RBL have always been clear that they will not be looking to negotiate away from the required single payment for the player.}

Seems we've a lot of bipolar fans here, after making huge amounts of loses this season and last, where the money is coming from? Couple of weeks back fans were happy to play reserve if we can't afford players and today they're having a go at owners?

13 May 2021 13:42:13
Kopforever, can’t seem to make up their minds, really.

13 May 2021 14:27:51
So if we havnt talked to Liepzig as Ed said, how can it be true were trying to pay in installments. Surely we'd have to talk to them to let them know. don't believe everything yis read lads.

13 May 2021 15:58:52
Kopforever, that’s exactly right, people want their cake and eat it.
Found it hilarious that when the protest was going on at Old Trafford and all the pundits were slamming the Glazers, I think Keane then said they need to sign Kane and Grealish, it’s no wonder they are trying to explore avenues to bring in more money when fans want them to spend £250m on 2 players.

13 May 2021 16:45:17
I hope they don't sell to us and we dodge the bullet and play phillips instead.

13 May 2021 18:30:27
Heaven forbid the owners use our club to earn more money! Absolute liberty!
They should just let us all in for free and while they are at it we’ll have a £30mil CB paid upfront too. Oh and don’t forget Sancho, Bissouma and Mbappe!
They should be proud to bankrupt themselves and the club for the fans of LFC. They don’t know how lucky they are!

13 May 2021 18:31:06
Exactly Cobra666, we want owners to put their billions of money and we as fans have all the say not them?

13 May 2021 18:42:14
Cobra666, that part got me in stitches when I heard Keane say that. Keep in mind that these same Glazers that many of them claim to hate, backed Fergie towards 5 titles and 3 CL finals (1 victory) till he retired and have outspent Liverpool since he left yet they say they have not invested in players at the club?

Now they want them gone which is okay. So who is going to foot the bill for these astronomic amounts of cash it will take to get a Kane or Grealish or Haaland over the line? The same owners they claim to hate or someone else?
