I know people have questioned Mac and some don't think he would be in our best first 22. Today though he showed why he will always be in our best team, total class today when others struggled.

I said before the start of the season he can be as good as Alonso. If he keeps on improving he will most certainly get to that level. He is a class act.

Mac is an excellent player.
He gets criticised for giving the ball away but the passes he tries are more risqué and line breaking and when they come off they get us on the front foot.
I’d much rather watch that as a fan than a player who has 95% pass completion and plays the ball 5 yards sideways and backwards 98% of the time.

Midfield is the key. The 3 in there from line up didn’t work, didn’t create, didn’t dominate
When Endo comes on, a natural DM, he pushes up Mac and Dom, then the forwards come alive.

Mark, I have no prob. with us struggling under the circumstances cos that is expected if you have been paying attention to our precarious injury situation. We kept going and never gave up and got what we deserved for sheer effot, grit and self-belief.
As for Macca, him playing well or him now being recognized as an important player for us did not start today or even recently, IMO. Macca has been playing well (even at the DM role) since the away game at City where is was outstanding and arguably MOTM cos many LFC fans thought he was.
Since then, he has been awesome and with Endo playing next to him, he has played a lot more advanced and we all knew how great he was (at Brighton) further forward and we started seing that already vs Chelsea, Brentford, Luton, EFL final and now Nottingham with goals, assists and key passes. The guy's been bossing it for months already, man.

It’s not about Endo being a natural DM. It’s more about Endo being a very good player.
Let’s give the guy the credit he deserves.

I was one of the people who thought Mac was really struggling earlier in the season. loved him at Brighton but he is now repeating his form. but I think he gets stuck in a bit more now, class player who starting to make us tick over nicely.

Endo is a much better player than a lot of us thought he was going to be. To be fair I’d never really heard of him so that tends to make me automatically think that ‘he can’t be that good then’, which is me just being dumb.
When Endo got up to speed with the PL he’s turned out to be a very good DM and an all round good player. The benefit is that from Macca’s perspective that has feed him up to play to his strengths, which is also helping the entire team play better.
In effect spending £16m has enabled the whole team to be better - the right player at the right price.

So if we had our full midfield without any injuries who would you play. Would macca make the team, who would you drop for Jones or does sloby get in there. We have so many choices for next season the next manager should be licking his lips.
