Ed001 great result yesterday I thought the ref was awful once again.
I can't believe how lucky we was in the summer with Caicedo turning us down he reminds me of Timo Werner and Sancho all had rave reviews about them but every time I see all 3 of them they looked awful. I thought I was just catching them have bad games but from now on I will just believe my eyes rather than the so called experts on tv.

{Ed001's Note - it is amazing how much Caicedo is struggling at Chelsea, the whole set up is a mess there at the moment though.}

It really feels like chelsea are making a mess out of everything possible. Even the captain situation! Choosing two injury plagued players for captain and vice captain makes no sense. Captain there should be Connor Gallagher in my opinion.

I lucky most of us wanted Caicedo to join but my gosh how bad has he turned out to be and how good has Endo been. The minute Endo walked through the door something told me he would do well. But I didn’t expect him to be this good. Why is the media not talking that much about him? It is a toss up between him and VVD for MOTM yesterday. Endo was winning every single tackle and constantly looking for a forward pass.

What I also love about him is his awareness of his surroundings. Watched a video on him about his time at Stuttgart. He scans his surroundings 3-5 times whenever he receives the ball. Next time he plays watch him, as he does it every time the ball comes to him. His passing is also exceptional. Always looking forward and most often than not finding his man. A true warrior and we are honestly lucky to have him.

Ed01, Caicedo got his dream move and Im happy for him. I mean he did tell us how he used to atch Claude Makalele boss the DM role at Chelsea when he was 4 years old, no? Hats off to him and his agent for getting him the move he wanted.

{Ed001's Note - it was the 4th club in just a few months he had claimed were his dream club.}

Reckon Caicedo would do better at a club that has a coherent squad based around the manager's tactical plan, not what Boehly came up with by getting coked up and throwing dice around his office.

Happier with Endo, Szob and Mac Allister for basically the same money though.

26 Feb 2024 12:24:29
*I like most wanted Caicedo to join.

{Ed025's Note - you dodged a bullet there if you ask me Alonso..

26 Feb 2024 12:42:23
S R I don’t think it would matter where he was his passing is awful and his timing of a tackle is even worse. Every time I see him play he is lucky to stay on the pitch.

26 Feb 2024 12:45:31
I though Endo was a good squad/ rotation option.

Nope.

First team leader material. With Milner and Henderson both going, his signing has been immense in filling the gap.

26 Feb 2024 12:36:39
Ed25. Trust me we definitely dodged a bullet. The post you responded to was a spelling correction of my post above. I explained there that we essentially dodged a bullet. Glad we got Endo instead who is a true warrior and not to mention a fine footballer.

{Ed025's Note - Endo is an upgrade on Caicedo for me mate..

I’ll be honest I’ve never claimed to have watched Caciedo that much and I was very on the bandwagon that he was the one for us when we bid.

Early in the season I watched Endo in the Europa games and thought he was actually a level below what we needed.

Cometh the hour cometh the man, Endo was brilliant in Dec and since his return a few games ago has been just as brilliant.

I thought his performance yesterday was the best yet.

Him and Mac have been stand out the last 2-3 games which begs the question where would Jones and Szob go if all were fit right now and we had a League or CL winning game where we go to our best 11.

Suppose it’s a great problem to have.

Indeed, Ed01. Was it Real Madrid, Arsenal and Barca? I stopped trying to keep up, lol. Personally, I did not mind Caicedo coming but as stated above, he seemed to be a money grabber who could not decide which club was his dream club hence, too many red flags for me so those were my only concerns. As soon as I realised that he and his agent showed they were all about the money, I washed my hands off him immediately.

Endo looked like everything Caicedo isn’t. Disciplined, intelligent on the ball, composed in possession and defensively sound. If only he was a few years younger. He’s definitely cult hero material.

26 Feb 2024 18:19:25
Caicedo was hyped up to such a ridiculous level that it seemed like he was the second coming of Ngolo Kante, Michael Essien or Claude Makalele. And as far as the price paid for him is concerned, it seemed to me to be just your usual "p*ssing" contest between two American owners (FSG and Boehly) . He will never justify the money paid for him. I know I know, never say never, but he seems so far away from what I would associate as world-class for that position. And for that level of money, he should be world class.

26 Feb 2024 19:02:10
Alonso nailed it - you look at Endo’s awareness and scanning and it is exceptional - a skill that doesn’t make the highlight reels but in a real match situation it makes all the difference in the world.

He’s always alive to being pressed, quick to move the ball on because he knows exactly where it’s going before he receives it, and always alert to danger the second we lose possession.

He makes the game look simple because his awareness and read of the game means doesn’t need to complicate things.

I feel like Endo is the sort of player Ed0025 likes. Takes his job seriously, professional on and off, never shirks a tackle and just generally goes about his business. Exactly the sort of mentality you need for that position. Good business in the end.

{Ed025's Note - i was a fan when a lot were moaning about his recruitment on here Dan, cost a fifth of what Caicedo would have cost mate and i know who i would rather have in my side..

26 Feb 2024 20:40:15
I was one that didn’t see the value in Caicedo. I think my exact words were ‘I hope we are not stupid enough to pay £100m for Caicedo’.

After Arsenal bid £70m for him in the January I wanted to see what all the fuss is about so I watched him really closely at Brighton. I saw a player with a decent engine but not much else. Brighton had Estupinian who is a much better player than Caicedo although at the time they were playing him as a left wing back.

I do think he’s regressed because of the total cock up Chelsea are right now and perhaps the 8 year contract subconsciously means it doesn’t really matter to him as much if he plays poorly.

Regardless, he was never a £115m player. His price should’ve been around £40m I’d say. We definitely dodged a bullet there.
