At the moment, Quansah is ahead of Konate for a starting position. Konate gives too many cheap free kicks away and has a mistake in him every game. He should be here as a good backup player.

Spot on. Konate needs to stay fit and try to earn his place back next season. I can’t see him doing it because Quansah is just technically better, but Konate isn’t bad as competition if he can shake off the muscle injuries.

It’s a long season. I don’t see either as 1st choice yet, they will rotate like they have this season I think.

With a new manager in I think it’s hard to predict who is ahead of who in the pecking order.
I’d say the only two guaranteed starters are Alison and Vvd.

Konate is another like Diaz that I'd move on if the right offer came in. The lad just can't be relied upon to stay fit. Clearly Quansah finished the season ahead of him but maybe Slot sees it differently.

Chief Scout, Slot is coming in and IMO, it's going to be a clean slate for near all the players which gives a chance for the boys to impress a new manager with new ideas which is never a bad thing.
Hence, pretty sure both Konate and Quansah will have a chance to go at it for the CB spot. Whoever anyone things is ahead of whoever is something Slot won't give a toss about based on this past season cos guess what? Slot wasn't the manager and has NO history with ANY of our players in the current squad. Just saying.

Quansah, Konate, Gomez and Diaz are the type of players we need if we want a string squad.
The usual opinion that ‘he isn’t in the starting team, we should sell him’ is a pretty short sighted approach to what we need if we are going to play 50 - 60 plus games in the coming season.

Exactly, it's the same as people who want to sell Diaz. We have two pacy wide men in Diaz and salah. if anything we should be keeping Diaz and singing another high quality LW to compete and rotate.

Nah keep them both. I like quansah, he’s done brilliant for a first season especially considering we had a new unsettled midfield and back up keeper for most of the year. Probably the main reason they let Matip leave. But for me konate is ahead of him if he can stay fit. Remember he is still relatively young too ( ibou) hopefully a change in training methods etc will sort out the aches and pains.

Slot will have all the injury history to all the current players so when he decides who is the first pick CB this information will surely help him decide.
