I just read that Shaqiri is up for medical or even announcement tomorrow? Please, don't be true.

Believable4 Unbelievable29

04 Jul 2018 22:10:19
I’ve seen the same, bit sceptical about it though, not my choice to be fair, to lazy a player with the system we play, until i hear it from the ed’s Ill ignore it.

solanke or shakiri. i know who my moneys on to pull out a winner.

Agree23 Disagree5

04 Jul 2018 23:15:16
Solanke'll do the business this year.1st year of real mens football last year. it'll have done him good.

Shaqiri is confirmed to be having a medical.
He is being treated for a sty in his eyelid and has been recommended some oinkment.

Agree4 Disagree3

05 Jul 2018 00:41:42
Why not? He’s no world beater but he will definitely improve our squad.

Agree7 Disagree4

05 Jul 2018 00:37:25
Do you really think that Klopp would allow a lazy player in his team? I don't think so!

Agree13 Disagree0

05 Jul 2018 04:44:06
If it’s true Klopp wants him and he signs, it’s a signing I’ll support as he tends to get the best out of players and most of Klopps signings have turned out well. I’m sure it’s a signing he’s researched and a player he thinks he can get the best out of.

Agree9 Disagree1

05 Jul 2018 06:02:30
He was kinda good in some of the WC games though. But I don't know. Maybe he can turn out to be another Mane; changed attitude after joining. Who knows.

Agree8 Disagree5

05 Jul 2018 07:56:15
Maybe it’s Shakira and Pique as a package deal?

Shore up the defence and then have a party afterwards?

Agree2 Disagree3

05 Jul 2018 07:44:02
Ed1/ 2 do you know of any truth to this rumour? I usually wouldn't bother you with such questions but this is somewhat concerning. I hope to god we don't sign Shaqiri, I can't believe some people are supporting the idea of it!

BB sorry mate but how would he improve our squad? I'd just like your take on that? because in my opinion he brings nothing, we've got youngsters more capable then that lump of lard.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - From the perspective of Salah staying and getting affordable cover for the right and centre the I would say that Xherdan Shaqiri is a likely option for Liverpool. If Salah had of managed to get his desired move, then the money would have been there for the Ousmane Dembele priced player many seem to expect. Personally I am slightly uncomfortable due to couple of reasons and would likely look to an alternate solution. And I would deal with the more pressing issue of the missing AM player first - go and pay the money for Fekir or find someone else. In terms of cover for these positions, Mino Raiola will soon be knocking on the door of a few Premier League clubs with his deal of the week, Hachim Mastour. Perhaps if Liverpool could figure out how to keep his head clear he would be an interesting option. Regardless, I would not discount Shaqiri.}

05 Jul 2018 08:43:23
Thank you very much for that info Ed2, much appreciated. Have a good day mate.

Agree14 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

05 Jul 2018 09:17:32
Thank you ed. First time (I think) you have suggested Shaqiri might be an option. Appreciate your update. Im going to google Hachim mastour now lol.

Wow, that's a great update, thank you Ed002.

05 Jul 2018 09:41:59
Much appreciated for the info ed. Big emre mate, I hope you are right about Solanke but I’m wary he didn’t get enough time last season to really develop his game. Personally would like to see him get a really good loan. As of now, I’d like to see if Origi can do anything to regain the form he had before Everton got in the way. He didn’t have a great season out on loan but sure that’s nothing new to him. As for Shaqiri, disappointing if true. Have no idea why people rate him he hasn’t improved since he stood out at the youth World Cup. As for Mastour, really hated his celebration in Pro Evo 15, that’s about the last time I heard about him. Is he a free agent ed2 or is he still with Milan?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Mastour is a free agent, but Liverpool has not shown any interest (nor has anyone else - hence the reason he is to be offered around).

05 Jul 2018 09:57:05

Good signing at a low price, international experience and good to come of the bench.

Agree5 Disagree1

05 Jul 2018 10:16:12
Shaqiri drops a couple kilo of muscle and Klopp gets his head sorted to turn him into a team player, I think he would be a good signing along with Maguire, ha, my top pick for CB, think he will go well with Van D.

Agree2 Disagree2

05 Jul 2018 10:23:38
Sorry but from what I've heard an this is nothing solid salah had no desire to leave the club it's his agent trying it on and thinking of his own bank account. I have also heard salah isn't happy with the so called want away rumours.
YNWA 96.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained repeatedly what happened since before Christmas.}

05 Jul 2018 11:13:20
Shaqiri won't get in team if he lazy or not fit simple sure klopp will sort him.

07 Jul 2018 20:12:01
Ed002, just asking after your post above. Does that mean you see Fekir or a AM similar to his quality coming and Shaqiri or someone similar to cover the wings? Is anyone else likely to arrive after that?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer “likely” questions.}

04 Jul 2018 20:57:47

Interesting if we do sign Cillissen before off-loading other keepers, hope we don't get stuck being unable to sell Migs and Ward and go into the new season with too many keeps again!

Eds, I'm assuming that players who are surplus to requirements will be aware at this stage? Mignolet for example won't be surprised if Liverpool sign a goalkeeper as he knows he'll be off?

On a side note, Fabinho seems like a good guy in his most recent interview.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Typically clubs will inform agents in plenty of time if they are not required any longer. Then you will have those who want to leave then there are those where offers arrive.}

04 Jul 2018 13:54:58
I personally don’t see the point in offloading Mignolet and Ward to bring in Cillessen. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Agree16 Disagree19

04 Jul 2018 14:16:11
Well, Mingolet doesn't want to say if he's not first choice and should absolutely never be first choice again, so that makes sense.

And if Klopp prefers Cillessen to Ward, that's that all explained.

Agree16 Disagree2

04 Jul 2018 18:16:02
My point bring that he’s a terrible keeper and worse than Mignolet. Actually worse.

Agree5 Disagree10

04 Jul 2018 18:55:19
Cillessen is a much better keeper than Mignolet. I don't think he's definitely better than Karius though.

Agree15 Disagree5

04 Jul 2018 19:10:07
FMS what makes your more qualified to decide that than those employed/ tasked to do the job?

Agree6 Disagree4

04 Jul 2018 19:23:22
Naby, FMS knows everything about everybody.

Agree7 Disagree1

04 Jul 2018 19:58:14
If you’d ever taken the time to watch Cillessen you’d know he’s a poor keeper who has all the faults of Mignolet and more. The worst Dutch number one for years and certainly not the answer to our goalkeeping problems. Mind you I suppose it depends what you’re after, if you want incompetence, a keeper that flaps at crosses, who is physically dominated easily, has no command of his area, has poor kicking ability and hasn’t played any proper football in two years, then Cillessen is your man.

Agree4 Disagree8

04 Jul 2018 20:15:58
It's remarkable how you are able to critically assess him despite that fact that he has hardly played for 2 years, you must watch a lot of Copa del Rey football.
It also remarkable that he won the Ajax player of the year twice in a row despite seemingly being a non-league standard goalkeeper.
I'm sure the people at Ajax and Barcelona will be in touch any day now to learn from your infinite knowledge.

Agree10 Disagree3

04 Jul 2018 20:53:33
What I saw of him playing for Ajax and Netherlands is a keeper that gets done easily by high balls into the box, that is easily dominated, has zero command of his area, has poor positional sense and has poor distribution. It’s fair to say he’s one of the worst first choice Dutch keepers for a long time. I’m not fussed about him winning club player of the year, Stewart Downing was Villa’s club player of the year when we signed him and he was great wasn’t he? I’m concerned that we are about to fritter away stupid money on another poor keeper who has barely played any football this last year and doesn’t address any of the shortcomings that Mignolet or Karius have. Of course if you’re happy with another poor keeper then I’m delighted for you.

Agree4 Disagree6

04 Jul 2018 21:49:43
I don't presume to know anything about Cillessen, what I do know is if the club wants him then I am happy with that. Ajax must have seen enough in him to play him in the first place and Barcelona must have seen enough in him to buy him from Ajax.
I am willing to keep an open mind about any player we are linked with, I don't think I know everything about every player.

Agree3 Disagree0

05 Jul 2018 00:30:37
No he doesn’t. He prefer Cillesson to Karius.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jul 2018 11:58:52
Any truth in the Yerry Mina rumours?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any Yerry Mina rumours that involve Liverpool at all. There have been discussions between the player and another side and he will be leaving Barcelona on loan.}

04 Jul 2018 13:18:21
Blimey, that was quick for us to jump on the flavour of the moment!

Agree1 Disagree1

04 Jul 2018 13:23:49
Looks great in the air but very clumsy, I wouldn’t be keen on us signing him.

Agree1 Disagree1

04 Jul 2018 15:00:49
He's going to be the best cb in the world for about 10 years. Barcelona would be silly stupid to sell. He's so good! Absolute monster in defence. Imagine him and vvd. We wouldn't need a gk in net.

Agree3 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - seriously? Have you actually watched him try and defend? He scores a couple of goals and people overlook the fact he is absolute dog turd in defence.}

04 Jul 2018 15:21:14
I agree with you ed1,he is one of the most unashetically pleasing players I have seen in my life, makes Sakho look like Rio Ferdinand!
He is certainly commanding in the air both in his box and the oppositions but isolate him one on one with the ball at your feet and he is a clumsy liability.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - awful on the ball and positionally he is utterly inept.}

04 Jul 2018 15:33:53
Reminds me of Sakho, very rigid and can't turn.

Agree2 Disagree3

04 Jul 2018 15:43:29
We should bring in the defensive coach of the Swedish team, we’ll be grand then 😉.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jul 2018 15:48:11
The worst assessment I can deliver is that he made Davison Sanchez look like he was the composed half of the partnership!

Agree4 Disagree3

04 Jul 2018 17:06:56
Don't care what use say. He played a part in completely locking us out today. Played through a groin strain. Kept up with a fresh vardy when injured and in extra time. Heart, passion, strength, power.

The same description was used for vvd. Athletically brilliant but an awful defender, lazy, show pony, waste of money. Yep go search all the comments from all those in the no.

Couldn't care less he scored apart from the fact that imagine that aerial threat for us defending and attacking. Like exactly what we need in the box when defending corners

I am praying we could pull this off. Would be insane!

Agree5 Disagree2

04 Jul 2018 17:45:09
Kloppsboss - Re: Mina. nah, he's not. Harry Maguire might just be the best CB for the next ten years if he keeps up his current England performances! We should be looking at him, he was Hansenesque, striding out with the ball last night.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - hahahaha. People really do make ridiculous assertions after watching one performance against a team that never turned up.}

04 Jul 2018 17:58:06
Maguire. Good god.

Listen mina is a monster. We have vvd, Robertson, taa and fabinho to lock him into. That will protect a good amount of his flaws as he shouldn't be isolated to much.

Defending corners he will be magnificent.

Bullying players like lukaku will be to easy.

Showing heart, spirit, character for us will be a huge huge thing. More the merrier.

He also is at least 5 years away from what his prime could be.

Klopp is a terrific coach and vvd is an absolute beast of a partner for him.

Agree3 Disagree0

04 Jul 2018 18:34:15
Lol Kloppsboss mate, may I ask how many times have you seen Mina play?

Agree3 Disagree1

04 Jul 2018 19:58:06
Hey kloppboss go watch an actual game were Mina was forced to defend. One of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen in Barca's last game of the season. Cost them an unbeaten streak in the league. How can you say you don't care that he struggles with the basics of defending, you can't just buy a player just because he excels at one part of the defending.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jul 2018 20:23:59
Barcelona is not the greatest place to judge defenders bud. There so open it's mental. Busquets as cover for them that is it. Anyone who actually bothers attacking them can win, just no-one can get the ball.

Our defenders from Jan onwards very rarely apart from the United game, got really singled out but any defender can be made to look a tit.

Just remember city just won the league with otamendi. Otamendi though!

We're quality attacking, we have fabinho, vvd, Robbie and taa. We're solid nowadays and he's very young, got to a lot of learning and offers or something drastic we need with a big presence in our box from corners and attacking wise. He wouldn't even have to or probably won't anyway be a starter but he'd be great cover and might really excel under klopp and watch vvd.

I personally think he's an absolute monster and could really add a nasty side to our defence. Plus I would love to watch Jesus, hazard and such to just bounce off him.

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Jul 2018 10:20:20
Would be happy taking Maguire, watched him at Hull and thought we should have got him before Leicester took him, Robertson and Ox worked out very well and Maguire would be excellent alongside Van Dijk.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2018 17:51:39
Mina is nothing special. He'd bring good depth, but I prefer to see them develop Gomez in a CB role.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jul 2018 09:16:59
Yo eds. A bit of noise doing the rounds about vida from croatia, us and Everton making 12 mil bids.

Any truth? Think it would solidify the back line incredibly well.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything more than an enquiry by Everton for Domagoj Vida and certainly no bid at this time. I am not aware of any interest being shown by Liverpool at all.}

04 Jul 2018 12:08:05
To be fair Ed002, he does have a very dodgy hairdo. So it may be likely.

Agree3 Disagree1

04 Jul 2018 12:46:02
No worries. Thanks for the responce.

For people disagreeing, do you not think he would give us 3 solid partners for vvd. Then he can partner Lovren like that have shutting out some big players if vvd is needed to rest.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jul 2018 18:33:38
He’s always looked a solid no nonsense player with a rubbish hairdo.
