Think Neco could be in a strange position in the summer, he needs games at his age but if we loan him out we have no cover for Trent, It’s not like Trent is 30+ and Neco is our long term first choice either so I don’t see what the plan is for him, currently he’s no where near good enough to fill in for Trent if he got an injury or needed a rest and he’ll never improve without games so it’s a tricky position. Southampton were interested in January I wonder how much we could get for him, I’d much rather an experienced backup that we could trust to step in.

If we sell him a bring in cover that will not help are HG problem. This season he has not been good enough but he has played in a team in very bad form with lots of players missing and players out of position and that has effected Trent and Robbo so give the lad a chance. next season he will get plenty of game time with cups.

Giving players a chance, TB2? You must be from another era, bro cos none of that exists anymore or almost. Tsimikas according to some on here, should be binned cos he has not had a full run of games this season due to CV and injuries (cos clearly these handicaps are of his own doing) so clearly, he is trash. Ben Davies is yet to play for us and some on here already think he is trash and want him gone. Fab was already a flop in the early stages as well, remember?

I'd be selling at least 8 players from our squad before even thinking about Neco.
Neco will get better once he gets a run of games. Have some patience with the kid.

For me I don’t think it’s a case of Neco not being good enough as he’s hardly played any games consistently to prove himself. A great point though is his and Trent’s age. He’s only 3 years younger than Trent so it is a difficult one for him as it’s not like Trent is nearing the end of his career or misses many games through injury. Neco is actually 20 in 2 weeks time so he definitely needs more game time but cannot see it happening with us. Maybe a season loan would be good for him and club. Personally I’d like to see him stay at the club and give us cover but all depends on how happy he is getting 15 games or less a season. If we don’t have European football next season then Klopp might go stronger in the cups. If we have europa then Nico might get to play every Thursday night.

Is he going to develop at Liverpool with not much game time? I tend to agree with the OP, I don't think he will cut it at LFC. Its not being disrespectful, mocking the player or slagging of his performances. I just don't think he is anywhere near good enough to push Trent,

I’m absolutely convinced of that. He needs a good half a stone of muscle on him.

I'm not sure Neco will ever be good enough but with Trent here how will he ever show it? Playing 5 games a year for Wales? Surely for his sake he'd want to start getting regular football at his age.

Going to the gym and bulking out isn’t the answer, he needs coaching and training on the more fundamental arts of defending. He’s a reasonably good footballer, he’s definitely quick, but it takes some intelligence and willingness to learn that will help him make the grade. Some players you can tell immediately that they won’t make it, Connor Randall for example, as soon as you saw him on the pitch he never looked like a footballer, I’m not so sure that I’ve got that impression from Neco as there are some good points to him and some bad, but hopefully those are things that he can be coached and taught.

One of Neco’s main problems that I’ve seen is he often tends to get physically dominated and even bullied by opponents, hence why I think more muscle and strength would help him with this. He doesn’t have to bulk as such, just a better power-to-weight balance.
He’s only 19 or so but he’s still got the physique of a youth.
Sterling would be a good example, he’s very strong for his size.
Trent is much better too.
