Next week the atmosphere around the club will be poisonous, in theory, ETH should he asking all the fans to make it a cauldron as they need them more then ever instead it'll be half empty as they will be protesting.

Exactly JK, Palace first then hopefully go into the game full of confidence but salah and Nunez must be licking their lips.

Just a point on United, when we were dire under Hodgson we had players like Poulsen and Konchesky. And just weren't that great so it was hard to get a tune out of them.

United on paper have some good players, sancho, fernandes VDB, and shouldn't be losing 4-0 to Brentford. But their issue seems to be systemic and no matter who the manager is they churn out this.

If they are to move forward they need to completely scrub the decks barring one or two and build from their youth. It'll be ugly short term but it's surely better then this lot.

Although saying all that I hope they keep trying the same things and slide further into oblivion.

Utd will park the bus against us, if Brentford scored 4 goals against them, then we should be able to score more than that. Unfortunately they always seem to raise their game against us. However I still believe we look weak in midfield…. look at the Fulham game, we got dominated in midfield as Fulham literally played 5 midfielders. If Utd decide to use that tactic, we will struggle to create chances.

WY, I don't think they have anyone who's really that good anymore. Fernandes is good player when he's not sulking (a rare sight these days) . Sancho has potential, but I'm starting to wonder if Ed001 called it right 2 years ago when he said the Bundesliga was flattering him. Rashford might get his act together at some point, but he's become so poor that it's hard to maintain any suggest that it's the fault of the awful atmos in the club. Ronnie's still decent, but not what he used to be and not worth £500k a week. I'd call the rest fairly average. How many of them would play for us? Not many, if any at all. Even with half our midfielders injured, I think I'd pass on Fred, McTominay and probably Eriksen and van de Beek as well.

But you're right, they should be better than 4-0 against Brentford. It appears that their dressing room is at best, a very miserable environment, and at worst, a toxic nest of vipers. Players quit at the first sign of adversity on the pitch and don't work for each other, and despite massively underperforming they still think they're too good for their teammates, their manager and their fans. Leaks are happening again already.

And new players coming in get infected by the garbage that's already there. Look at Varane. After a couple of months there, he was scarcely better than Slabhead.

They should've just gutted the squad - Ronnie, Maguire, Fernandes, Rashford, de Gea, Shaw, McTominay, Lindelof, Fred, Bailly, Jones, Martial and the whole lot should've been the subject of a fire sale and new players recruited. Anyone who can kick a football and isn't a total prat would've done, at least for the next couple of years. And if it meant needing 10 youth players to make up squad numbers, and struggle to be in the top 10 for a couple of years, so be it. It'd pay off in the long term. It's pure rot in there, and you can't try to splice fresh growth onto rot. All the rot has to go or they'll stay like this.

Not unaware of the dangers of hubris, KloppisTopp, or the dangers of a wounded animal. But they couldn't raise their game against us last season. And RR tried to park the bus at Anfield and we breached it in 5 minutes.

I think if we play well against Palace, we'll carry that into the Utd game and beat them.

Ed014 the money they are on Is beyond disgraceful. Just because a club brings in significant revenue should not mean the likes of sancho is on 350 k a week. I think that's a part of there many problems.

Have they even offloaded any of their supposed dead wood, the don’t have a defender worthy of the name.

They’ve built up players like Sancho, Elanga, Rashford, Martial and so many into players they’re nothing like in reality.

Whether it happens or not they in two games look like relegation fodder.

We complain about our players from time to time. I myself complain about a certain Mr. Keita's lack of application.

But without hyperbole, I can safely say that if any Liverpool player, went to United they would be Utd's best and hardest working player by a mile, and would be made captain inside two months. Assuming they didn't immediately look to cancel their contract after their first training session when they realised what horrible wasters they're playing with.

It was rumoured that van Gaal wanted to bring Kuyt (who was playing for Feynoord or Utrecht at the time) in as a senior player to instill workrate by example. That's how long the malaise has been around.

The underlying problem seems to be that the club is run very badly - their transfer ‘policy’ just seems to be completely unstructured and ‘random’. Look at Amnutovic and De Jong - desperation and ineptitude respectively.

Unlike some Liverpool fans I don’t hate United, I don’t actually care about them but I think watching them implode this year promises to be fun, not least watching the United forum and I’d say that the league table is pretty humorous at the moment.

While we’re talking about Manchester United, they are the golden example of why we should be trusting the work of our recruitment and squad. They have done basically what a lot of Liverpool fans on here, if you are honest with yourself, would want us to do. Last season Sancho, CR7 and Varane. Big names, big salaries, no cohesion with their team and development curve.

So whilst things can change, the team at Liverpool have done an amazing job to have a team of 8 or 9 midfielders with a blend of experience and youth. Who knows if they will blink this window and make a panic move but it’s been their style and so far so good really.

@Billshankleynwa, basically I’m keeping my feet firmly on the ground. Yes, man Utd got thumped today but we didn’t look good at all against Fulham either. We have Crystal Palace next who are no walk over either and play man Utd soon. If we play like we did against Fulham, anything can happen. Against Fulham, we lost the midfield battle from the get go, and with the injuries we have, we do need a midfielder, as currently that is the area where we are weakest.
