Been reading some rumours that Alexander-Arnold is being offered a new deal that will make him our highest earner.

Hope it is true, we need to do anything and everything we can to keep him.

There's been mention of doubling his salary to 360k per week. It did raise my eyebrows a bit, but I guess that's market rate at present. Mohammed Salah level. And Casemiro and Varane level too (do those Mancs really know what they're doing, sigh? ) .

Alexander-Arnold is only 25 and could easily get better. Plus, as a Liverpool fan - he will hopefully not just rest on his laurels and rake in the money.

Casemiro was aging and offered a big payday.

It's a dangerous precedent if we give Alexander-Arnold £360k a week. It was different with Salah as he is a forward who guarantees you at least 20 goals a season and the risk was mitigated by it being a three year contract. Trent is a right-back who can be suspect defensively. In my opinion, he isn't necessarily exceeding expectations on his current £180k a week. If he gets £360k a week, what will that do to the wage structure? Surely Van Dijk, Mac Allister, Allison and others will demand similar salaries if they sign new contracts and others will demand increases relative to the new set standard? I don't think you can say Alexander-Arnold is head and shoulders above the other players in the team. I would have thought between £220k and £250k a week would be both fair and generous.

Could Michael Edwards be crippling us with a high wage bill again? Ed1, not sure if you have any thoughts on this one.

Trent scores 3 goals a season and his assists are half of what they were when he's came in centrally plus there's no guarantees he'll get into midfield under a new manager. he's quality but that's outrageous if he gets put onto that.

I don't know, with the cost of goods at the minute and with interest rates as they are, he's probably struggling on anything less than £360k a week. I seen him at the bank the other day asking about a loan to buy a second hand Volvo.

If TAA gets 360k, then Bradley deserve 280k, Robertson is creating chmaces from other flank should be at 250k for his age.

@Lee - you surpass yourself sir, that’s the funniest thing I’ve read on here for ages. Never let the detractors deter you - it is brilliant stuff.
