No effort in that shirt design at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can still remember the white shirt with space invader pixels around the waist that New Balance served up. So honestly a plain red shirt doesn't even cone close to bothering me. At least it doesn't have a weird blue/ orange trim!

Last year there was whining about the shirt. This year there is whining about the shirt. If you don't like it then don't buy it. Problem solved.

05 May 2022 11:03:44
Literally what Oh Mane Mane said. If you like it, buy it, if not don’t. Personally I can’t be arsed buying the new shirts, I wear an 85/ 86 adidas one. That will do me fine. As long as enough buy then to pump money into the club that’s all I care about.

05 May 2022 11:12:02
OMM, people whine about the new kits all the time. I'm over it.

05 May 2022 11:20:40
It's not that bad. Not the best but not the worst, either. What do you want? A Stella McCartney design or maybe Burberry? 😱.

05 May 2022 11:38:47
It’s not offensively ugly, which I am glad about because some of those warrior kits were abhorrent and some of the leaked concepts from the end of the New Balance era were horrifying as well.

However, they’ve literally put no effort in at all whatsoever. It’s basically a t shirt. There are people who are paid thousands to come up with these designs and yet Nike phone it in most of the time. It’s a real shame coming off the back of this years kit, which i think is excellent and something a bit different. I am all for green or orange trim as it makes us stand out! Template shirts have always been a thing, even some of our most revered designs have been templates, but come on now, that’s not even trying.

As for the ‘if you don’t like it don’t buy it’ comment, that’s just rather silly and not very clever. I doubt that the majority on this site are queueing up to buy the home shirt every year, but we’re still allowed to be annoyed about it. We have to watch the lads play in it for nine months and shirts are always a vital part of our history and mythology. Just because i’m not going to buy it for myself doesn’t mean i can’t expect better.

For the amount they get paid ‘Stella McCartney or Burberry’ is pretty much what i’m looking for yeah. It’s not rocket science, they managed to do a good job this year so we know they can make a half decent shirt when they put some effort in.

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps something floral for the summer?}

Only point is from all the photos of the new kit taken, not one is salah.

Call me a cynic but surely you would have one of the main men in it?

Unless he is off of course 🕵️‍♀️.

{Ed0666's Note - excellent point.

I always find the I can’t enjoy the game if the kit isn’t nice. The kit totally ruined our CL semi comeback against Barcelona if I’m honest. All I could think about was how much better the game would have been if we could have incorporate a little tartan motif.

05 May 2022 12:07:35
Yup. And let's add on small perfumed blister packs inside the shirts, that you can pop throughout the game, so that the players smell good throughout the game too. Chanel or Tom Ford sounds right to me.

(I remember Valentino designing the kits for both Inter Milan and AC Milan, like 25 years ago. I bought both and wore them for years and years) .

05 May 2022 12:22:08
Nowt wrong with a little bit of tartan in yer life WDW!

05 May 2022 12:38:52
I like it not because of the design the emblem or for that matter how it looks on some of the players or not I like it because there's a little badge on it that says LFC and that's enough for me.

05 May 2022 13:03:52
Wasn't a lover of this years kit I must admit but it's definitely grown on me. Can agree that not much effort has gone into the new design but also got to say I quite like it.

{Ed0666's Note - copy and paste kit zero effort. We live in a society where aesthetics matter to an extent because of IG, marketing et al. Make an effort people.

05 May 2022 13:09:52
I don't find it too bad. Love the 97 on the back instead if the 96 so i think I might buy it.

05 May 2022 13:11:54
I wouldn't read too much into salah or mane or Bobby or robbo or thiago not being in the shirt reveal video. I mean ox is in it for goodness sake.

05 May 2022 13:54:32
I like it. I find its simplicity refreshing. I wasn't a fan of last year's Christmas trimming or this year's orange zigzag.

05 May 2022 13:57:30
The trailer is cringe though.

05 May 2022 14:06:24
Klopp is in it after that I'm not too bothered.

05 May 2022 14:09:05
people complain it's too much design, then its not enough design, they don't like this they don't like that, yet LFC shirts are the highest selling in world football - Go figure?! Nike must be doing something right then.

05 May 2022 14:49:16
It's red. Isn't that all that really matters?

05 May 2022 15:42:37
As long as it sells millions and millions of shirts and makes Nike and Liverpool lots and lots of money I doubt they will be too concerned.

05 May 2022 16:31:22
Two whines I do have about kits are that 1 they used to be out every other season. I hate that they are out every season now, and 2 I remember when they would reduce the price of the tops to a tenner for the last month of the season that it was being used. Today the reduction in a shop I was in was from 70 quid to 50. No ta.

05 May 2022 17:39:26
Spot on MK and Baked Bean. It’s Red. With no weird colourings, stripes etc. if you want a laugh search for United will be wearing next season.

05 May 2022 20:24:22
I love the trailer. Connects the city, that color, and the club, perfectly together.

06 May 2022 09:51:51
Man Utd's home kit looks like the footie kit version of that game kids play, when they draw a head, fld the paper over, then someone else draws the neck;body;legs;feet.
Real mish-mash of designs going on.
