For all you reds saying vvd, ali, mo, can play in to their 30s at the level that these guys have played, if your body says your coming to the end then your coming to an end.

It's so easy to sit at a keyboard and type yes, mo can play till he is 36 or older. if his body is having a reaction after or during games then it's time to hang their boots up because in later life it will come out on their bodies. and if you think i am talking rubbish look at the players we watched years back. most of them are struggling with their bodies.

I was only an amateur footballer. i played into my 40s, my knees are shot, my ankles are shot, my hamstrings are like piano wires so how pros feel is beyond me. So we all want our fav players to keep going every season but sometime father time says enough is enough. YNWA.

I don't think anyone is disputing that that is possible.

but it seems to be that you're saying it's a foregone conclusion that they'll be playing in zimmer frames next season.

iwillbered, I think people would all be in agreement if Salah and Virgil had just had bad seasons. But you're talking about a CB who got nominated for player of the year and a RW who was 4th for G/ A in the whole league:
Palmer, 33
Haaland, 32
Watkins, 32
Salah, 28

Not sure there was much indication that either of them are finished or even close to it. I think we saw enough to say Salah needs to be utilised differently as he clearly lacked the pace to beat quicker defenders anymore, but he still kept popping up with goals and assists. In all competitions it was 38 G/ A in 44 games. Salah is a victim of his own success because that's a world class season if any other player does it.

I think Salah can move into a more central role how Ronaldo did and play at the top level well into his 30s.

Those goal numbers are skewed by penalties though. And I'd like to see Salah taken off penalties. I am much more confident when Mac takes them. He places them whereas Salah just hits and hopes and rarely hits the corner. In fact I'd rather Nunez or even VVD on penalties before Salah. But we know he just wants to break records.

I didn’t know that Salah “just wants to break records”. When was it announced?

Even if it’s true, what’s so strange about wanting to break records? You make it sound like some sort of mental aberration that a person picked to score goals actually wants to score goals more than anyone else.

On a different note, when’s our next match? Seems like it’s a long wait ahead.

Because it should be what’s best for the team, not what’s best for Mo Salah.
